  • Ann had several requests about how she made the rims in a couple of her recent videos. Never let it be said that Ann does not listen to her audience. So, she made this video. Ann uses two types of clay for a more dramatic effect but if you are not into drama, you can still use these great tips and tricks. Enjoy loyal friends!
    Answers to questions we get all the time:

    This is not a criticism, I'm just trying to understand. Why did you do it this way rather than using a coil?

      GOOD QUESTION! We should have addressed that in the video. The main reason is when you make a coil, you have a connection point that can be prone to warp or crack. This way, you have one solid piece of clay around the rim or foot. Thanks Wendy!

    I learn so much from these videos! Question, how dry was the white clay bowl?

    • @annruel1982
      @annruel1982 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Sara. I let the bowl dry so that it was just stiffened up before attaching the foot. Give it a try 🙂

    Good idea making use of the wheel to throw perfect round foot-any size possible and with a bit of stretch, it can be oval too!

    nice video, but a handbuilt bowl should have a handbuilt foot, not using a wheel
