Why I Love K-Pop

- In the last few months, I've become completely sucked into the world of South Korean Pop Groups. Everything from the music they make to the culture of it all. In this video, I talk about my journey of slowly becoming a K-pop fan.
I’ve been saying to people to keep an eye on Ateez and StrayKids ever since I found BTS for groups outside of Big Hit. Like most BTS fans I am not a fan of kpop. But those two stood out to me for some reasons. TXT Loser Lover is absolutely definitive in terms of their musical identity and they are a group characteristic of Big Hit Music group: Slow and steady, deep and stable. ENHYPEN’s debut was absolutely explosive. I mean, Drunk Dazed was amazing.
I feel you. My own youth was marred with social anxiety. But please allow yourself to be OK with not having any deep or intense intimate and / or romantic relationships until late in your 20s or even later. It is often healthier although for some reason the western world like people to start really early and often makes young people feel some type of ways if they don’t.
Thanks for this interesting video.
Your writing has improved so much. And I loved hearing how K-pop gave you a new thing to bond with your mother over.
Thanks so much man. I've been hesitant to make more videos since that one blew up for the wrong reason. But yeah it's cool, literally whenever the two of us are off work we sit in the living room and watch k-pop shit all day
dude i feel you soooo much on txt, never thought i would enjoy kpop yet here we are
also 'these guys here again' parts of the video are hilarious
what Toby didn't mention is that I not only got Tickets to Ateez , Stray Kids and TXT...but I got premium seats . I spent over $1000 for those 3 tickets...for a up close view...and it was worth every penny...and will do it again to see EXO, BTS or Enhypen, or any other of my bias groups/members. When you go down that rabbit hole called Kpop it starts to get expensive...but it's literally healing for me...who needs a therapist when I got my groups.
omg the best nights of my life was at the TXT concert with my son Toby...we sang anti-romantic along with the crowd. it was magical...Toby and I both learned the Korean words of the song to sing it that night...and it was Awesome....🥰😍😇
YOURE MAMA GOALS YOU ARE THE REAL ONE
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, really appreciate it.
I listen to k-pop since 2016, I was 15 years old then. BTS were my first introduction and longest love. Still have a special place in my heart. In late 2018 and early 2019 there were news about new BigHit boy group and I was just normal level curious about them because from rumours the members were somewhat close to me by age. Little did I know that they will become one of my reasons I wake up and go to bed late😁 I laugh, get upset and cry with them every day. I’m so emotionally attached that I don’t know how to live without them anymore 🥹 gosh…why am I crying now🥲 TXT is the only group I know each and every song. I really enjoy their music.
I don’t even remember how my life was before k-pop😕
I saw txt and I understand the title very well. TUBATU THE BEST
Hey, fellow Korean American here
Love the way you've broken down the attraction to Kpop
My ult group is Seventeen.
I love their music and talent so much but
I'm sure you've heard their music before so I'm going to suggest something different to reintroduce them to you.
Watch their Going Seventeen TTT episode! (Available on YT)
Finishing the video, I appreciate how you were forthcoming about your situation. I empathize because I was feeling just as futureless in my high-school years. Nowadays I'm struggling with a different experience--that of being a university student and feeling like I have been given way too many opportunities that are just too big for me but too good to pass on.
Anyways just know no one is alone and I'll be praying for your future.
Good luck!!
I like Aju Nice, Hot, Super, and Maestro, and I know all the members names and faces but that's it 😅. Thank you for your kind words!
txt also got me into kpop
Tubatu music is always a fresh concept, like u would anticipate what sound they will make next comeback and what message the whole album they'd put out. As a moa since debut, I admit to easily unstan groups once I don't love their music anymore making me a casual fan but TXT never made me stray away from them. Because every idol is funny and heartwarming and good to watch but music means a lot more to me.
KPOP is fun!! Im glad that you found more things about yourself and has found something you can enjoy and connect to. Music is for everyone!!
In 2020 corona took over the whole world but BTS took over my whole world!!!! 😆🙌💜
kpop is a big adventure for everyone who do not let language or any judgement barricade them! And its a fun journey as long as its not harmful, why not rightt
I understand a lot because I dont mind being called a "kpop fan" its not like that term is bad either, I do know other groups and have listened to them but being a TXT fan makes me feel confident, because I grew up with them, their storylines, their music, the members themselves became everything to me because somehow they produces something that becomes meaningful in my life. I love music a lot and it moves me and it keeps me going and listening to most of txt songs just connects to me
A CANT YOU SEE ME ENJOYER!? Brother you are rare
I'm kpop fan since 2009 and before 3rd gen there is 2nd gen, i know kpop thanks to 2nd gen and groups like Snsd, kara, Wonder girls, after school, sistar etc.
I discover kpop thanks to youtube, they recommend me a compilation of kpop songs made by a fan and in this compilation there is one song that i love so much: Gee by Snsd Girls Generation.
I listened to this song so many times, so addicted and fun and cute choreo.
And kpop's success is because of the music, good and addicted in your head but also we love kpop because of the dance.
Then also the beauty of their mv and visual members and talented members.
@39:35 I love how you mixed all my fave songs together...nice edit
Maniac is still a bop...I stand by that TOBY...lol
check out dreamcatcher! I think you are going to like them: their songs are BANGERS, the mvs are phenomenal (rose blue makes me cry every time). they (re)debuted at the very end of 3rd gen so their music catalogue is huge but it's never too much of the same thing bcs they do concept switches and sound evolution while never abandoning their identity (bringing rock to the (kpop) masses).
Your mom is a real one
thanks , I'm his mom....I really love KPOP and I am so overjoyed that Toby and I can bond over this...I took him to TXT and ATEEZ and we had the best time...I want to go to many more concerts..He wasn't into stray kids when I went with my friend and he missed out...he is kicking himself now....LOL

i want "run"/"i need u" bts back so much
We can’t be all angsty teenagers forever. Especially when you are in your 30s.
I don't like 3rd gen and specially bts i don't like them at all, i don't like blackpink too, that's my taste! And i didn't discover kpop with 3rd gen but with 2nd gen
