@@josesosa1654 When were they World and European champions in the all-around? Maybe they got a medal in an apparatus final but I guarantee other teams have gotten more. Spain has won one all-around World Championships final and that was in 1991, not 1996, and has never won a European Championships all-around final regardless in which country it was held. In 1996 they won a silver in the all-around during the World Championships in Hungary, while Bulgaria won gold. In the European Championships in Norway (a Western country) they didn't even make it to the medals. So according to your own logic Bulgaria should have won here, because they were better both at the World and European Championships, but they didn't because it was held in a Western country.

Not at all, Spain was one of the most dominant countries in rhythmic gymnastics during the 90’s. They had Emilia Boneva as a coach. She brought all the expertise of Bulgarian school but also knew how to give a distinct character to the Spanish team.
