My question more is WHY do they send spam over and over. If they are out to get customers, they KNOW after one attempt they have struck out. So why send over and over, only antagonizing the recipient to where they would never buy from them ever!

It's more work for them to track who's not responding. It's simpler, cheaper, and easier for them to just keep blasting to everyone all the time.

I saw another video where they said Marking as Spam is bad because it verifies that your email is active and that gets sent back to the spammer so they can sell your email off. Seems like there is no great solution. I wish mail programs would step up their verification game to create an account or something.

It's the first time I get to understand why blocking email senders doesn't work and you providing THE answer. Thank you.
My Yahoo Mail asks for an update, I clicked thinking it had been long overdue. The update turns out to be an UPgrade that includes removing ads, Decluttering inbox with domain blocking - would that mean decluttering unwanted email senders? Yahoo knows what they are doing, right? All for £4.99 per month. It's like the viruses in our home and office computers; there weren't any when they first started their commercialisation but suddenly our computers got infested and we had to buy anti-viruses, 'better' computers, etc.

DO NOT UNSUIBCRIBE FROM SPAM. Spammers don't honor that, and actually start sending you more spam as a result if you do. Unfortunately Microsoft's spam filter is ... less then ideal (to put it politely). Right now if you need to continue to use that account, marking spam in your inbox as spam, and marking legit email ("ham") in your spam folder as legit is the only recourse we have.

    • @askleonotenboom

Spam email does this all the time. Spammers can fake whatever they want in the To: line. For legitimate email it's not something YOU fic, it's something at the sender's end, typically a bad address book or contact entry for you.

No. The only thing that works with any reliability is, if your email program or interface supports it, is to set up a rule or filter that automatically moves email from a specific sender to the trash on arrival. • @Wize817

So the better question is WHY DO EMAIL PROVIDERS ALLOW SPOOFING when its DECEPTIVE and ALLOWS SPAM?! 🤔 SPAM could be greatly REDUCED or STOPPED if the email sender service didnt allow spoofing the address and/or the receiver email provider verified the spoofed address matched the sending address (because they have both addresses), if NO MATCH = AUTO-DELETE. That would force all email senders/spammers to reveal the REAL address and the Spam Blocking filters on email would actually work on spammers. SPOOFING would be pointless. End of Spam. In the meantime, everyone needs to report spam email as PHISHING, not just block. A higher level security. I think they take the spam more seriously as these type of spammers are the worst, disguised as legit companies to steal your CC#$$$$!

This video is misleading and is not true. Blocking spam addresses works and has helped me manage my spam folder---which was getting out of control from spam. Sure, hackers use the From Spoof, but they have a limited number of addresses (and patience) they can spam you from. I had to hang in there for a while with several to finally lose some of these spam bozos but eventually I exhausted them and I dont get spam from them anymore. It became sort of a sweep the stoop philosophy. The first thing I did when going into my email was check the day's spam and block the BS. This way, it was manageable. One thing about using blocked sender I am wondering about is does it compound your data usage and cause you to get warning messages??? Because I have that problem and thats why I am researching block sender. And so I ask...... is the real futile thing here not blocking senders, but blocking so many senders that you get storage warnings! Anyone know?
