Am a spanish speaking barman, of all english language cocktail how to make videos, yours are the best, no complicated, easy to make, thanks a million man
I was at a bar in Miami Beach some years ago and was sitting at the bar with my girlfriend; next to her was some guy who said he was a bar tender in San Francisco. My girlfriend got served a sex on the beach just like the one you made in this video and the San Francisco dude quickly pointed out it looked like a Tequila Sunrise because the colors were inverted. He said with the sex on the beach the yellow has to be on the bottom (the beach) and the red on top (the sex). The bar tender behind the bar looked at me and rolled her eyes 😃 Love your channel BTW.
I'm curious as to why you made this backwards. Generally, the "beach" is the yellow part of the drink, which goes in first. The red goes on top-red representing the red light district, sex, idk exactly where it came from-hence why the drink is called Sex ON the Beach.
Great question! When Ted Pizio created this cocktail it wasn't layered at all from the cocktail books I read. Only when TGIF picked up the drink and started making it popular did they start to layer the drink. However, TGIF's version is one that was found in a cocktail book that preceeds Teds version by 5 years. But TGIFs version is super sweet and I'm not a fan, and I don't think most people expect that version (midori, chamboard, ect..) So it has become custom now to make Ted's version that he made for the Peach Schanpps competition but ALSO layer it like TGIF did, which had the dark color on the bottom. As far as the name... Ted (bartender in florida) is on record saying two things bring people to Florida (sex and beaches) and that was the only inspiration behind the name. Like all things rumors and lore like to go around iconic drinks and sex (red) and beach (yellow) never accounts for the name according to him. But at the end of the day, it's a fun play on it and you can make it however you like, and I like it both ways! In general people expect the layers like TGIF made it, so that's why I decided to do it that way, but totally up to you! Cheers!
This recipe is with Cranberry , in the menu of my hotel where I work it says grenadine , i asked my coworker who has 20+ years of experience that the original is with black current , I'm confused lol
Yea this drink has been changed a lot! Originally it was made in Florida and that recipe used grenadine. Then it became very popular in the 80's being on the TGI Fridays menu and that version was made with Chambord. At the time most bars did not have Chambord, so the version that started spreading across the world was being made with cranberry juice since that was easier for bars to get. So your hotel, your coworker, and this version are all correct! They are all delicious as the drink is very simple. But 95% of the time if you order one at a bar you will get it with cranberry. Cheers!
This video is cool but no disrespect at all but the bartender himself wasn’t pleased with this drink and the style upon how it’s built, if someone asked for a straw you better hope they mix it or your F’d. This was a few years back so maybe he did a better version, but point being I personally think if we got to see the bartender stir the drink after pouring the orange juice first then cranberry then mix the drink so it might look and taste better. Much love and respect T.O.Streetender
Hey Michael, great points! First of all, this isn't my favorite drink, no matter how it's made. I don't like to fake like I enjoy something, but I try my best to explain it, because I know so many people who love the drink! And you're totally right about how the drink is presented, if I had it my way, the whole thing would be shaken 100% of the time! But unfortunately, guests lose their minds when I do that, and often return the drink, I explained in another comment, ill copy it here: "When Ted Pizio created this cocktail it wasn't layered at all from the cocktail books I read. Only when TGIF picked up the drink and started making it popular did they start to layer the drink. Awesome job having multiple videos go viral. That's awesome.
Thanks! They are the older ones too! Hopefully I keep getting the videos better and get more to go viral! :)
Should I stir it or drink it in layers like that? Never order this before so I want to make sure I do it properly.
I would definitely stir it for the best tasting drink

Dope man, this weekend we hava cocktail party with some friends thanks for the help! Great looking cocktail sir!
Awesome stuff!! Let me know if you have any requests!
Can tequila be substituted for the Vodka because I do not like vodka at all
Absolutely! Tequila and orange juice go very well together, so this cocktail works great with Tequila!
I don’t drink anymore, so I order the non-alcoholic version, ‘Celibacy In The Mountains’. But I prefer pineapple juice to orange.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can we change the vodka with any soda/sparkling water?
I like your way how to make this cocktail...It looks nice and fresh also easy to prepare. Thanks 😀😀
I love your background brother.... Is that your home bar? Did you build it yourself?
You are doing great work...
I really appreciate your effort...
Love from India🇮🇳
What is the replacement of peach schnapps if theres no available
Beautiful, I would of asked for double or triple shot of vodka. Make it a little stronger 💪
Can I use peach crown instead of peach shnapps?
I have it's 😋 delicious
where can I get peach schnapps ? Can I get it at the liquor store ?
Yup! Pretty much any liqueur store should have it. There should be a flavored alcohol section, and should be in there!
@@CocktailCards thank you for replying
You're welcome!
Didn't you watch the video?.. He said you can get it at any package store.
How many ounces does your hurricane glasses hold in the video?
Hey Harold! I believe this was a 15 or 16 ounce in this video.
I'll personally build it somewhat the same but I float the Cranberry juice at the end
Very nice, love this 🍸! Big 👍 up my friend, you just got another subscriber!
