Hi Kiraku! I like that row of Shimpo wheels you put in your shop. You are right, it looks very professional. This is very interesting because I need new equipment. Please, if you don't mind, can I ask your opinion about a Shimpo wheel? My RK-2 is from 1976. So old it can no longer be maintained and recently stopped working. But I really prefer this style of Shimpo wheel over the newer ones that sit on only 3 legs. I just ordered a new Shimpo RK Whisper to replace the RK-2. What do you think of this model, RK Whisper? Did I purchase a good quality wheel? Thank you. I trust your experience here.
Thank you for your comment. The model I am using is the RK-3D made by "SHINPO". In Japan, the power supply is 100V specification. It's very powerful and the sound is very quiet. We recommend the same product. However, please note that there may be slight product differences due to different countries.
That's a relief to know. There are many different wheel manufacturers available in the USA. I want a Shimpo because I know in Japan you make the world's best tools for pottery. Thanks again! =) (I just now understand, it's the same model. In America they call it RK Whisper. This is great.)
Thank you for your reply. You have a lot of information. I think the best electric potter's wheel is a powerful and quiet product. The motor made by "SHINPO" is the best.
I wish I could have all the information about pottery. Hopefully this makes sense in translation. If it were possible for me to travel I would come to your studio. I would visit as many potters in Japan to learn. There is no better place anywhere. It would be my dream. But I know it is not possible. That is why your videos are so important. I am learning so much just by watching them, even though I can't understand Japanese. It does not matter. I can tell you are driven and focused about pottery. Your efforts to share knowledge and educate are highly respected by us all.
Thank you! The words you are saying encourage me. I don't understand the language, but if you look at the video, you can often tell. I will continue to make many videos, so please take a look. I would be happy if I could meet you someday!
