- Benjamin Zephaniah : The John Robb interview
The much loved poet/actor.activist in full engaging flow. Filmed 2018.
Producer Matthew Shaw, Cameraman Chris Bowerman, Editor and Direction Shaun Qureshi. Thanks to Andrew Paine and Sophie Porter.
What an incredibly endearing and real human as he was here…great lowkey interview too thanks for that rip B 😢🙏🏽🍀
War criminal Henry Kissinger gets to live to 100, yet a beautiful being like Bemjamin Zephaniah has his life taken away at 65. It's fucking wrong.
But only God knows best and we can’t question it. Very mysterious indeed!!
ah man. R.I.P Benj, so sad to see you go.
An absolute legend has passed! RIP. Deep thinker and a man of true integrity.
RIP and Rise in glory our Legend 😂❤
Rest in power Benjamin Zephaniah.
We never met one another,
but I will never forget you brother.
Two socialist souls,
with well meaning goals
and hearts that were joined at the lip.
We may take a pause,
before continuing your cause
to mourn your passing,
and to celebrate your passion
for the suffering of others,
for the fathers and mothers
who's children went hungry last night.
We'll pick up your pencil
and use it to stencil,
the words
injustice is no justice at all.
So rest easy brother,
till we do meet each other
in the stars that sparkle for all...
That’s beautiful.. thank you for sharing your love in more ways than one. Blessings
So thoughtful and kind. Yes, lets continue to use his words as a stencil to fight injustice. Yes, lets continue.😊😊😊
Beautiful words. He would’ve loved it.
@@beverleyreid7572 Thank you for your kind words Beverley

Classic BZ. Open and unmasked.. i did have the pleasure of meeting him after we already hooked up on MySpace where he "absolutely loved" the song i wrote about his OBE snub on channel 4.
Magic stuff, thank you Benjamin and John for this wonderful conversation x
Great interview John. Human and animal kind has lost a true leader. RIP Benjamin.
Thank u John. Love dis man x
Brought tears to my eyes when he talked about the Dylan Thomas poem. Such an intelligent, genuine, sensitive soul. A cheeky sense of humour too. A great natural interview.
You are a very good interviewer. Great episode 🫡
Love this interview. I didn’t know Benjamin before, perhaps because I’m not from the UK. RIP
Interestingly in the 1980's the Sun headline run this "would you let your daughter marry this man"
He is working class British/Jamaican, we are the salt of the earth.
I achieved what his mother aspired to become. She wanted to be a nurse in the NHS.
Interesting Documentary 1983 Channel 4.
Oh wow Benjamin Zephaniah he's legend man R.l.P❤❤❤🙏🙏😒
What a smile. What a voice. What a beautiful soul.
RIP BZ - you've left for heaven too early. You were supposed to tell the story and indeed do so in full affecting all across the board. Undeniably you're immortalised thro' your works. Aren't you a legend in your own right that the world has witnessed?
This is another one of my favourite interviews.
What a lovely guy...
Fabulous work John and your Goth book is so beautifully put together .Benjamin was a true polymath and so many white and black people can learn so much from him.xx
