i am kinda into high quality basics n just abt to learn abt different materials, brands, weights etc. im thinking of replacing my wardrobe w less but more thoughtful clothing. im glad that your channel niches down to only that. this channel might not be for everyone but for a select group of people, its extremely valuable content
Loving your channel mate. I'm in the process of finally losing some weight and wanting to start putting an effort into my fashion for the first time in many years. Looking to do a wardrobe upgrade and your channel is helping me a lot in getting up to speed with some pieces I want to buy (including this jumper!). Biggest thing I like about your content is developing an appreciation of quality over quantity (i.e. fast fashion). Part of the enjoyment I find is learning about the craftsmanship that goes into these clothes, and also learning the story behind the different clothing companies, the manufacturing process etc. I'm learning a lot about from your content.Keep it up!
Thank you buddy, really great to get that feedback. Congrats on putting in the effort and investing in yourself. Keep it up! And yep, these items will last you a long time. Even for me I can't really do many many jean reviews these days cause i have so many! also check out some other TH-camrs who absolutely kill it in this scene, @TheIronSnail, @Stridewise, @Fjorde, @CeeAreDee just to name a few.
Cool! Looks very similar to the Andersen-Andersen Crewneck, which is significantly more expensive. Nice to see another company put out a sweater, seemingly equal in quality for a more affordable price.
Beautiful sweater! Quince recently came out with a sweater that is nearly identical for under $60, so I’m on the fence considering the price of this one.
thanks for the video! looks a bit like Heimat's fisherman's sweaters. I wish more people in this scene knew about Italian brands such as Rakki, which makes excellent heritage knitwear, but also GRP (stocked by No Man Walks Alone among others)
When I asked Alexandre at Bleu de Chauffe about the care instructions for the sweater he replied with this "We recommend a hand program or to wash by hand. Tye sweater is in cotton and very heavy. We have choose cotton because cotton is more breathable and you can wear the sweater during winter, spring and autumn season." So it appears you can wash it on a delicate setting in the washer. I would imagine you're supposed to hang dry or dry flat.
Looks good but personally I don't find heavy knits in cotton to be very useful, their weight-to-warmth ratio is severely lacking compared to any wool (not to mention pricier things like cachemire). And also as other have said, a seaman's sweater in cotton is a serious contradiction, cotton is absolutely terrible in wet situations unlike wool.
Awesome sweater! The website states it is made from 100% cotton and not wool.

ordered mine for christmas when I saw your last video.
Have you taken a look at the Bleu de Chauffe work coat? It looks great, right up your alley!
Just took delivery on this sweater and wow, what a knit! Incredible quality, fit. Very heavy. Feels a bit of a steal at £170 to be honest
I know right! So thick

I have an Arthur Beale oiled wool Beerenberg sweater. Super warm and very heavy. You should look into it
just received mine! very nice
Love it too ! How do you compare it with Wonder Looper sweatshirt in term of heaviness ?
Have you heard of saint james french company since napoleon doing wool pull over you should try ....
Looks great! How well does it wash? Always worried about shrinkage with these
That's the the big question. Not been there yet haha
Good luck 😅 Let us know how it goes!

I’d love to have one but it’s waaaaay to hot in SoCal I think 😆
I love chunky fisherman sweaters.
That is a very fair price
Hi they also have a well priced heavy weight t-shirt. Have you tried that and would you recommend versus Japanese/German T’s? Thanks.
If you want a cheaper version of this but still high quality check out bronson mfg
Sweaters from the era this is patterned off of have such long cuffs because they're meant to be folded over :-)
Cotton at a wool price... Much rather buy a wool one!

This most certainly isn’t a seaman’s sweater. A seaman wouldn’t be foolish enough to wear a cotton sweater in such a wet setting.
Cool guy
It's not wool, but 100% cotton!
My girlfriend always makes me put my semen sweater in the laundry :(
Need to unsub! Cant be buying like this!
haha sorry ;)
