If you randomise the timer between 1 and 3 seconds and speed between 10 and 50mph, you've basically just recreated the psyonix server lag!
Every game or so I get about 20 seconds of unplayable lag where the ball and players are teleporting around. Almost always leads to a goal
So why doesn't rocket league just have a second casual playlist called "leths corner" where a rotation of game modes and maps you've made are played. It would make RL so much more interesting. Only good thing about new season so far is the extra tournaments. I just want to play spike rush hoops, it's so much fun ;_;

Could you do this, but instead of after you hit it, it accelerates at a random time between 2-10 seconds? Hits wouldn’t reset the timer, of course. I think that could be fun!

*Day One: Idea:* Rocket League but the ball gets slower every time we hit it.
*the ball starts off really fast and the more you hit it, the slower it gets. Once the ball completely stops, the team who hit the ball the most wins a point. You could possibly add rumble to it if you want.*
Could be interesting but I dont know if it would be entertaining to watch if it just guys chasing after the making it stop, I would have to see it first

I don't think it's a good idea. Both teams would just be trying to touch the ball as much as possible so you would find 'em just dribbling the ball again and again. Also, the game would be 100% aggressive and everyone would just ballchase. Sorry dude, it wouldn't be entertaining imo
Day 2: *Rocket League but the ball goes in the opposite direction*
I know this will take a lot of coding but the idea of it is whatever direction you hit the ball, it goes the other way.
Example: if you hit it forward, it goes backwards.
Edit: People say to add delay and speed so yeah, that’s also added.
This could work if there is a delay just like in this video otherwise the ball will just bump into you 👍 fun idea
I wanna see more randomization in it. Whether in direction, speed, or delay.

Leth you seriously deserve a spot at psyonix. Maybe not a developer position but it's insane that they're not even talking to you or trying to collaborate in any way because the things you make are insane especially for one or two people to make.

That Mario map looks awesome! It would be fun to revisit this spring loaded ball later, but make it launch 90 or 180 degrees from it's initial velocity after contact.

If at all possible you should see if you can get the spring action to go in the direction that the player hit the ball, rather than the direction that the ball is travelling. For instance, at 2:44 JG hits the ball towards the wall, so when the spring goes off I feel like it too should go towards the wall. Which in this instance would have resulted in an own goal after it bounced off the wall, centerfield. idk, might just add that next level of chaos, you never know!

This is brilliant
mod idea - dropshot ball on normal field, clasic dropshot or reverse dropshot, but based on the stage of the ball the physics change. for example in the first phase there would be normal physics, in the second phase there would be slight rumble, and in the electric/third phase there would be strong rumble.

You should do a video where you pros have a front boost added with the regular rear boost. I think you pros could make some amazing shots and crazy saves with the ability to boost at the front or rear of the car at any time!

I would love to watch you guys play a mod that causes your cars velocity increase proportional to the speed at which you hit the ball but in the opposite direction. Could simply call it newtons 3rd law 🤓
Just a thought, what if you freeze the ball 0.5 seconds after a hit, then it spring loads for 1 second or something, then blasts off in whatever direction it was previously going. This way it would feel more like a charge up. Might lead to some interesting situations of teams passing it/faking etc.
New idea: gravity changes for amount of boost each player has.
Now we know the answer to Ali G's question.... "How many springs does a ball have?"

You should do this but with the plugin that prevents goals from being scored under a certain speed. Then set the speed to 200 so you can only score with spring
This is pretty much what 200 ping feels like
You should do a prank with this where you're doing RLCS scrims on one of your custom maps (so they aren't suspicious when they need to boot up hamachi) and set the delay to like 5 seconds and each match, gradually lower the delay.

Imagine this, but with the ball super light, and super bouncy.
You should do where the ball gains spring the more people hit it and once it hits the ground it launches super fast. But the more touches before it hits the ground the faster it bounces

Could you do something like this but where there is an invisible variable on the ball and each touch on the ball adds a wildly random value to this variable and once it reaches a certain threshold the ball pings off at high speed? it'd be like a spring that builds pressure with each touch but you have no idea when it would actually fire off.
