Just came across this video 3 years after was posted. Great story. I myself just retired and looking to buy the 2023 Yamaha XMAX 300. They seem hard to come by but I did find a new one at a dealership. I to live in Northern Illinois and after I scrap up a few more dollars I plan on getting one. I think I will really enjoy it. Thank you for a good video and testimony.
I just started getting an interest in maxi scooters. Was watching this YT video of this guy navigating around the chaotic streets of Manila, Philippines and I was impressed about how good he is. It was in first person mode so I didn’t know what he was riding. But it looked sharp from the rider’s POV and it was quiet. I asked him what kind of bike it is but he didn’t reply. So I did some research on my own and to my amazement, what they’re riding a lot of in Southeast Asia are scooters. Wow! Yes, I’m very naive when it comes to motorcycles. My further research led me to the Yamaha XMax. This is now my dream bike! My first one even. I’m in the Bay Area California. Didn’t know these are hard to get. I’m going to keep on hunting for one. I am going through the same thing now. I can't decide between an XMAX and the CB500X. I am 61 and don't want to mess with shifting and chain maintenance. I think electrics may be the future and there is no shifting there. There is a reason most cars are automatic. Thanks!
Really liked your story man, that sounds like a fun adventure to get your dream bike ;) The XMAX is a great scooter, I myself own XMAX 400 and enjoy every ride!
@@nemanjatosovic Definitely a great machine! The only “issue” with it is that the engine on the 400 is a bit old and not updated for a few years and have an annoying vibrations from 0 to 40kph but that can be solved by a Malossi variator. But other than that it is a really perfect scooter. BTW - there is also Malossi variator to the XMAX300 that can really improve the power and liniary so you can check it out ;) I love you’r vlogs and would be happy to see more!
@@BacidCR I did get a full malossi kit but am yet to instal it. I think the 300cc engine on the current Xmax was first used in 2018 and its been awesome, super smooth and predictable. It’s not the fastest thing on the road, but quicker than most cars from 0-50 kmh and I got it up to 138 on the highway too but feels best at about 120-125. I can’t believe I was able to get one so cheap considering it was literally brand new. Thanks! Let me know if you have Instagram I’ll follow you, I sometimes post pictures of my Xmax there as well.

Yamaha just launched this bike in Vietnam for appox. 6000$ out of the door today (Oct 8th 2022). It is my dream bike right now, so I would kill to go all in if I ever have a chance with it for 3000$ like you did. I would take a bus there and ride it home like I steal it, 1000 miles or whatsoever I don’t care lol. You’re story is too good to be true, man. Thanks for sharing, God bless you!
Congratulations for your dream come true, i will have my downtown soon, i've enjoyed your previous videos and appreciate your observations. It was meant to be, now you can really make a good comparison, but frankly, like a camera, the best bike is the one you are using, enjoy the best of what xmax can offer, i will love my downtown too, i'm pretty sure it will serve me best as long as i ride it. By the way I am from the Philippines.
@@nemanjatosovic Yes mate I’m in Queensland and winter last year was amazing. Summer can get too hot. Yamaha have just launched a 1.99% finance deal in Australia just for scooters. No set up fee no monthly fees. I’ve ordered the X Max 300 in black. Just need to sort out some accessories.
Bought a xmax300 early this year, my first scooter after 50 years of riding motorcycles. Hardly ever ride my bike now, use the xmax all the time. 5800 euros out the door here in France.
Interesting story! Glad it worked out for you. These bikes are very difficult to get, right now. I found one 3 states away from where I live & called my dealer to get it for me. It is a 2021. I will find out today if I got it or not. My question is, how are the brakes? Are they difficult to operate? Someone on another video complained they were hard to squeeze.

Manje bucan udobniji i naravno oko 35 40 kg laksi. Imao sam model 2015 xmax 400cc ali mi nije legao nikako.
I put a plate from my other scooter on just so something is on there but generally you don’t need a plate as long as you have all the paperwork like the title. If I were to get pulled over I’d explain I just bought it and am going home, you have 30 days to register after purchase but just so I didn’t get pulled over o used my old plate
That was a pretty amazing story, congratulations. You really did get a very good deal even though it was a stretch to get out there. I just purchased a brand new Xmax yesterday and I am very happy with this purchase but of course I did not spend what you did but double what you did plus an extra $300. I am looking to customize this scooter with gold parts because my bike is Matt black. I listened to your entire story thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I was so happy to get this bike! I cannot believe that I found one for such a great price! It has been great so far, I am already up to 2,700 miles and it had less than 1700 when I got it. I too just went on patzilla and oder a few parts. They are not too expensive, besides the basic oil filters and air filters, I am ordering a front and side panels, I want to maybe paint then myself. I love that Yamaha made the scooter relatively easily to work on. I hope you get to enjoy yours for many years!
@@nemanjatosovic I am looking for some accessories to make the scooter my own so if you run into anything that I might be interested Especially gold pieces just give me a heads up.
@@benb4282 Will do! I am waiting on my parts to arrive I am using partzilla and revzilla and am anxious for everything to arrive. One thing I noticed is most panels are very easy to take off. Yamaha did a great job making the bike easy to work on. I'll let you know once parts arrive how everything is looking
@mistaeric The retail price is 5,700USD plus there is a 425USD destination charge which brings the total to 6125USD. Depending on which state you are in, there is also a 5--10 percent tax which is added to the final price, so with a 10% tax, you are looking at about 6700USD or about 5800EURO
Nemanja I own a old SYM RV250 scooter and was looking at getting a XMAX and appreciate your comments on the XMAX can you explain your height and weight and how you feel the XMAX is on long trips at high speed? This looks like one damn smart way to travel and have fun. I like my SYM RV250 around town and but not so much on the freeway at high speed above 60 it just does not feel stable.
I am 6 feet tall about 170 lbs or 182 cm and maybe 77 kg, The xmax is perfect. Nothing else I can say. It is fast, will cruise 70 mph at onlt 6000 rpm, it is comfy, it is easy to ride, just a great bike overall. You can adjust the widn screen if youre taller, it caries 2 ppl easily. I think you'd love it.
Great story. It answers my big question: Do these 300 maxi scooters hold up if driving 2 to 3 hours at 75 to 80 on a regular basis. Or is this just okay for a one-time trip?
the xmax can hold 70-80 no problem. Generally, when I am on the highway I do the speed limit so I cruise at around 70 and that is not an issue for the Xmax. You even have a bit of power left. I think for highway use, 70-75 is where the Xmax shines. All that said, other 300s are different. For example, Kymcos Xtown 300 does not have the same capabilities, it tops out around 80ish so it cruises comfortably at around 65 which is still good but for some highways a bit slow. The few maxi scooters in the class that come to mind and are available in the US that can easily cruise going 75 are the Xmax, Piaggio BV400, Burgman 400, and the Kymco AK550 which can easily do over 100.
Thanks for the info. Never heard of the Kymco AK550, but I love the looks of it. I wish they made the xmax 300 in this color. I will research more. Great thanks again.
after hearing your story of how you got the scooter....I have to tell you I did kinda the same to get a basically brand new 2020 xmax in Wichita, KS (scooter had 1500miles). I got it early September, flew from DC (I live there) to Wichita, rented a ram 1500, strapped it on the bed and drove the truck with the xmax on it for 1 day and half to DC. I payed a little more than 3000 but I got the top case, touring seat, 2 helmets and the scooter cover included in the price. Even after the rental bill and 2 nights hotel, 1 way flight and food expenses, it was still a better deal than buying it brand new from a dealer in Maryland (even after paying all the registration costs). I m going to update the mirrors. Don't like the original ones. sorry for writing a long comment. have fun with it!
That is so aweosme! I thought bout renting for some reason the entrprise near me rents the truck by the mile. It would have cost me around 600 for the rental plus gas, tolls and all else. I am planning a trip around the US with my Xmax in the spring.. maybe ill see you on the road.
@@nemanjatosovic you bet! hertz for 2 days and different location drop off was 315 dollars w/taxes. weirdest thing, there are no tolls what so ever from Kansas to Dc. strange uh? well if you ever pass through DC or the west part of Baltimore county, let me know!
I really like the Xmax I never road a motorcycle or had to shift gears on one I like this because no gears to shift and plenty of storage how difficult will the motorcycle test be if I’m just learning shifting on a bike ?
In the US it is not too hard. The written test is only 15 questions and you need to get 12 correct and the riding test composed of short tests. If you are using a motorcycle with gears, you'll never need ti shift, all tests are done in 1st gear. Pretty easy, but I suggest you learn fisrt and use a smaller motorcycle as it will be easier to move.
Cao Nemanja, pogledao sam nekoliko tvojih klipova i dobio dosta korisnih informacija.
I moved from a new Honda CB500X 2018 model to a 2011 Yamaha Xmax 250cc ABS with 23000 km on the clock. I loved the Honda it is a great bike but for different reasons i love my xmax even more. The xmax is so comfy also on long rides even more than the Honda. The xmax has so much storage space where the honda had none. The xmax is so cheap to own and run and maintance is really easy and simple. Xmax is no powerhouse, though it has more than enough power for all type of roads even highways with passenger! Now sold the honda and i will keep my xmax and if im gonna change in the future its going to be another xmax maybe the 300cc model!
Cb500x is one of my favorite bikes. Seems perfect for pretty much any use. I’m happy you like the Xmax like you said, they’re so easy to live with, you sit and you go.
Hey cool story there, just wondering is yours a 2017 to 2020 model xmax 300 ? Because currently the latest model are the 2021 model ... just wondering what are the differences between the 2017 to 2020 and the 2021 model ??? Would be cool if you can explain the differences ?
Nisam imao xtown, vozio sam Downtowna neko vreme. A xtowna sam probao.
Im picking up my new 2023 Xmax tomorrow at K&N Cycles in Tulsa, Ok for only $6299. Its a steal. Tell me what prices you are paying for your Xmax's ?????
Pozdrav Nemanja! Hvala unaprijed i puno sretnih km zelim💪
Pozdrav.

Similar power, more liniar compared to Kymco, Kymco might accelerate better, but it isn't too noticeable. It has a higher seat height, more storage under the seat. Pretty similar wind protection but on the Yamaha the windscreen is adjustable. It gets better gas milage, is sportier and more nimble, has bigger wheels, longer maintanance intervals, both are easy to work on, both are reliable. I prefer the seat on the Yamaha and the seating position suits me better. Quality is similar, good on both but Yamaha is a bit more refined. Getting parts online is easier for the Yamaha but you can get parts for the Kymco from taiwan for cheap. Both good bikes. I prefer the ride of the Yamaha as it handles better and is more nimble.

It’s not the fastest thing on the road, but quicker than most cars from 0-50 kmh and I got it up to 138 on the highway too but feels best at about 120-125.

Manje bucan udobniji i naravno oko 35 40 kg laksi. Imao sam model 2015 xmax 400cc ali mi nije legao nikako.
Two for one story I really enjoyed. Got a great scooter and adventure all in one.
Great story, great buy! What did you for for a tag/plate on your return journey?
I put a plate from my other scooter on just so something is on there but generally you don’t need a plate as long as you have all the paperwork like the title. If I were to get pulled over I’d explain I just bought it and am going home, you have 30 days to register after purchase but just so I didn’t get pulled over o used my old plate

@mistaeric that is a great price, 300cc?
@@Rpendrick do it, we can ride together

Hvala!
Pozdrav.

How does this bike compare to your Kymco?
@@nemanjatosovic Thanks for your thorough response. I almost purchased a Xmax in 2018 but found the price a bit hard to swallow. You got a great deal.
