Great vid. Nice to hear these insights from a brother. This is definitely an issue that should be addressed in Muslim communities, not only at Ramadan, but al the time.
I especially like your distinction that while it might be better, it doesn't meant it's bad to go to the masjid. How many things are better for us as Muslims that we don't do? Tons! And yet the FIRST response to this issue is ALWAYS, it's better for you in your house sister! Urgh..

I honestly believe that having the community pray together prevents not only kids treating the women's side as a playground, but also another masjid faux pas which is women who treat the women's side as a social club. I think women's rooms & kids rooms should also be provided, but people who want to pray should pray together, and that should be a revered space, no kids, no talking during salah.
Also the AlMaghrib type babysitting service for tarawih would be awesome.

It's true about living in a country where Islam is not the predominant religion. I think that sisters in masjids everywhere should start a "baby watch" system, where some sisters attend the masjid just to provide child care for sisters who want to pray in the masjid. This place should be provided away from the salah area. If the duty is rotated, then every sister will get a chance to pray without the worry of children disrupting other people's salahs.

Also wanted to share that last weekend we attended a mosque where the imam chastised the women over the mic who could not keep their children quiet & told them if they can't they should stay at home. He was audibly upset & one could tell he blamed the women & kids for several mistakes he made in his recitation.
I his point from a khushoo' perspective, but it didn't seem right to blame the women. More masajid should address this issue as a community.

as salaam alycoum its not even abt the noise but rather women who will not close the ranks meaning pray with feet touching in my community i volunteer to babysit the kids as to avoid all the gossip n secondly to get some ajar; subhanaAllah some1 should volunteer as i used to entertain the kids not only during the salaah but also to sit with them while eating iftar. So inchaAllah maybe ur wife can volunteer 2 watch the kids 1 nite n thn switch w/ othrs anatha nite take turns Allah knows best

There is no textual evidence to say there is more reward salat wise at home for women. Also at my old masjid all the kids were on the brothers side and we would make them sit against the wall and play. Running around was not an option lol
