I don't know why people keep criticizing the crowd all the time. Trance is something you need to emotionally appreciate as much as the physical dancing. Also since when did jumping up and down constitute dancing anyway. That only became a thing when "EDM" started taking over. I mean comon people, everybody in that audience is so mesmerized right now. And Solarstone is by far one of the top 3 trance artists in the world now. So trust me, I am sure people are having fun lol
+Srihari Santhanam EDM is cool at time but all this mainstream is killing it. I love the old Trance like this whole set with SS. I loved old school Tiesto but he went to junk. Armin is still holding on but he is like 50/50 Trance/EDM. Now GAIA although they are in Armin group they are just like SS. Love old School Trance. Trance is real and I love it.
Totally agree Srihari, I have been in crowds like this and its superb to see people 'in a trance' , thats whats its about , whether they are standing still swaying , eyes closed or hands raised, euphoric smiles all around,. And yes Ive been saying for ages now, jumping up and down is not dancing!! :)

+sergey kulikov I love live shows but there are times like right now where "chair raving" can be just as fantastic in its own way. haha. Good trance is an escape. Doesn't matter where you are because you will be elevated to another place especially when listening to Mr. Pure Trance himself. ^^^

Trance truly does take one to another dimension from within. At 3:34 is where the heart chakra open up and it feels like one is going into the light. This is where trance helps shift ones consciousness into another dimension of being thru feeling. Because emotional awareness takes place on the 4th dimension which some call the astral dimension. All these dimensions of being already exist inside you in the here and now. Which is why music is the universal language of the soul. P.

I can't tell you how many times I've watched this set now. In my Top 5 out of many, many saved. Perfect selection, mix, visuals...Then again, it IS Solarstone, so no shocker there.

If some of them were dancing, others recording, others chilling, others whatever, then i would agree with "everyone experiences an event in a different way", the problem is the smartphone thing, all of them are using it, no exceptions. It makes me sad and i feel sorry for SolarStone, i love his music. Technology is splitting us everyday a bit more. As soon as they are just recording an event, that's not enjoyable for me, in my opinion, recording the whole event just for uploading to their social accounts just to tell how fun it was, or more like "hey, i was there, look what i did, what i recorded, i'm cool, right?". People need to be more connected and stop using smartphones and ipads here and there. Specially in this type of events, were people used to be more "in tune", synchronized. If i was the DJ there or the music productor (which i am), i would feel very sad that people come to record an event, and not just dancing like crazy, like it should be. Specially when you always can get that recording from internet and tell people, i was there. I don't know, maybe i'm too old school and i don't understand this way of "enjoying". Well, just wanted to share my two cents. Have a nice day :)

Amazing- no less than I would expect from the mighty Solarstone.... Two things annoyed me... 1 the MC - why oh why do we still need some nob shouting make some noise??? and 2, the lighting operator has the sense of timing and music of a dead rat.... anyone with ANY idea about dance music can tall a breakdown coming a mile away even if they have never heard the track before... honestly - what was he listening to???
Totally agree with the MC distraction - he's yanking my chain! In regards to the lighting, I've been a LD and DJ. Certainly, it could be better for Solarstone's set. It should "sing" the music! But......you'd have to watch the whole show to recognize that this an early set. You never want to blow it out early. There must be restraint in power. But still - no excuse for lame accuracy of "singing" with them!
***** I agree.... don't use everything... but the LD didn't seem to know the music or even care - I get the feeling he was doing something else and just hitting a few pre programmed cues "when it went a bit quiet"... disgraceful, I could have done it... (I've also been an LD for the last 25 years or so).. Especially considering one of Rich's favourite inspirational bands, the mighty Floyd, are masters at it... you want to see LD at its absolute best?? Watch PULSE.. 20 years old and in my opinion still never bettered... the technology may have moved on a bit - but the programming is incredible.
Video and lighting is normally all pre programmed. Well that is everything I've seen at Q-Dance events etc. Qlimax for example has to be programmed as it is a 'show' based event. I would think Transmission was all pre programmed. It is very reminiscent of Qlimax. At events like this there isn't just one lighting technician but a team of them overseeing the lighting and video elements. It is all pre planned and orchestrated. Maybe the UME lighting & video techs are still finding their feet in regards to getting everything just right? Are they a new organization? I've not heard of them until Transmission 2014. I think we've been spoiled by the Dutch. They are truly the best in the world. :D
