Trivia: Burgos Circle in BGC has a five-story structure underneath it where floodwater is impounded and later released into Manila Bay. That is the one main reason why BGC will never get flooded.
All Starbucks in the Philippines are owned by just one family the Filipino Chinese Tantoco family (the owners of the high end luxury shopping place Rustans, Shop wise and many others). By holding monopoly of the franchises it prevented pure Filipino from having the opportunity to own a Starbucks franchise and they've been doing this since Starbucks started operating in the Philippines. They have faced backlash when they put a cap to the government mandated seniors and PWD (Persons with Disabilities) discount when all business should be giving a full 20 percent discount as mandated by law. I will rather support local owned and long established coffee shops like Figaros or Bo's Coffee but thats just me
"pure Filipino" 😂 halos 30% ng pnoy ay may Chinese blood, yung iba may Indian, Spanish, American, Hapon at iba pa. Filipinos are primarily of the Malay ( Austronesian ) and Polynesian race and various ethnic groups originated from what is today Malaysia, Indonesia, various Polynesian islands, southern China, Laos, Vietnam. The Rustan-Tantoco family is also a mix, look it up... some look Malay, some look Chinese - even Spanish. Maybe some married a foreigner along the way. In any case, they are Filipino. I will agree with you on the business practices. Yes, Starbucks PH belongs to this family and is ( you can say ) a monopoly.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find other coffee shops in BGC that offer heavy cream as a milk alternative besides Starbucks. Do you know of others?
You have a good vantage view of the Burgos Circle .. that’s also the condo where my unit is . Stay safe Brian . Always bring umbrellas or hat when going out
Telling someone who pays for their coffee not to go to that coffee shop is unheard of,especially that someone always say nice thing about the Philippines. Oh please people mind your own business, like Brian cares what you said . He's been around the world, a veteran,he give him some slack ,support whatever he does please and be more respectful.be kind and keep on smiling
I personally not a big fan of the Seattle coffee chain. You can get better coffee elsewhere with a more affordable price. Starbucks market themselves as a place to catchup, work on your laptop and to been seen. The overly sweet drinks recipes, snacks and promotion gimmicks fit well in the Asian market.
Agree, dont go to Starbucks and other Cafes because students, company workers and marites doing thier things are making Cafes their Marites Corner or Library Corner for many many hours, making no place for others. In Germany u cant do that staying long hours inside just a cup of coffee...
Correct patronize other better small coffee business. Don't give your money to Chinese businessmen who pretends to be filipino. I don't drink coffee though. We were there vacationing 2 weeks ago and it's extremely so HOT 24 hours a day. Hotter than Nevada & Florida. Now I welcome the beautiful Orange County, CA weather.
Star buck is own by Chinese franchise who water cannon the Pilipino fishermen as will as the Philippines Flag in South China Sea which is in also West Philippines sea and called our OFW a whole bunch of Maid .
I am really amused by what’s going on in your mind! Hahaha I feel like you are my spirit brother! 😆

Naah, Tantocos are old moneyed filipino families. They just have haters because they were close to the Marcoses ever since.
Thanks for letting me know. I will never go to Starbuck in the Philippnes anymore. These Chinese-Filipinos are butt heart.
