    I have a question... The 400HG and 400AHG vary in retrieve... One 5 to 1 the other 7 to 1 with a little less drag 18lbs vs 22. Which is more popular? I am just curious if people opt for the higher retrieve or a touch more drag...

    Love this new Tranx 400 ahg .... But the power handle makes it unbalanced and heavy , it's much better balanced with the paddle handle ..

    Tranx300AHG is perfect size. For throwing casting, jigging, boat, inshore pỉe, pair everyone rod. . I had tranx401AHG, but I don’t like, its big size.

    Does the PG version have less power? Or are they the same in power just less in how much like your getting in per crank with the HG

    • @jandhtackle
      @jandhtackle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      More power in the PG.

    Any idea what's the deal between the Tranx models that have letter A and the ones that don't?

    • @TheKegs96
      @TheKegs96 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder the same thing. I just got one from bass pro online and on the site it says 400A but in the reel and box it doesn’t have an A

    Comparing it to the daiwa lexa 400 . Size comparison, tranx 400 seems smaller in size ? Is there a big difference in size ?

    • @valzerna
      @valzerna 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, you can compare the 400 Tranx to a 300 Curado/lexa in size. And the 300 Tranx to a 200 Curado! But super power! Btw the 300 and 400 tranx are exactly the same, gears etc. are the same size. Only the spool width changes!

    • @girabaldytasty6224
      @girabaldytasty6224 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@valzerna as far as line capacity goes the lexa 300, curado 300. And tranx 300 have about the same line capacity. The tranx 400 is alot bigger than the lexa 300 but it's smaller than a lexa 400. The tranx reels are alot more compact than the lexas but they hold a ton of line.

    What rod would you match up with this beauty

    • @jandhtackle

      Depends what you are fishing for but one of the new Phenix Titan Slow Jigging Rods would be awesome.

    • @saltyfreshfishyp3796
      @saltyfreshfishyp3796 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would be using it in Northern Cali for ocean fishing, from either kayak or boat. I would just like an all around versatile rod.

    This reel for slow-pitch jigging? Target bonitos, snapper, small AJ. Jigs from 40g to 120g.
    Love your reviews big thumbs up from Croatia!!

    • @Rascallucci
      @Rascallucci 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was about to ask that. I think this reel will be great for slow jigging. For most slow jigging rods, they don't have hardly any fore grip (unlike fast jigging rods) and it will be hard to use a lever drag jigging reel and to do the line-laying with your thumb without the fore grip.

    You should show the 300 and 400 side by side so we can see the size difference. Is the 400 just wider or does it have a larger body?

    • @jandhtackle
      @jandhtackle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a bit larger.

    • @valzerna
      @valzerna 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the spool width changes a bit, but the 300 and 400 have the exact same gears! you can compare the 300 tranx to a 200 curado in size, and the 400 to a 300
