It's funny you mentioned that the boss at the top of the tower in Act3 felt like the end of the campaign, because it actually was a very long time ago.
as a matter of fact, there used to be a time when Piety in Lunaris Temple used to be final boss
I was there! The first, and last time i played poe.
@@Daralyndk Long long ago even Vaal Oversoul was the last boss.
Ages ago hillock was final boss
When PoE 0.1 came out, that first zombie you kill was the final boss
I love watching people play games for the first time that I already played a lot, it let's me re live that feeling of discovery that you only get when you start playing a new game.
I think that explains the amount of views. Thanks for your support!
@@NyxVellum yeah playing poe for the first was one of the best moments i had in my life 😂.
I was so clueless
It’s crazy cool man. On his first video we all basically attacked him to keep playing and he actually decided to really commit!! Instead of those click bait videos of Diablo player plays Poe for the first time and then jams for 1 hour. This guy is ACTUALLY JAMMING 😎😎
Blind first time playthroughs of POE are becoming a genre at this point and I'll watch all of them.
@@NyxVellum When you find colorful Chromatic Orb - you can change your sockets colors with it.
Items with Armor are more likely to give you - red colors, Energy Shield - blue colors, Evasion - green colors.
Thank you all for your support. The more views these videos get, the more likely I can finish the series. Do the subscribe, like and comment (I do read them all) for the algorithm and I'll see you next week for Episode 4! ❤ (If this video gets 10k views I'll press z, fine)
If it gets 20k, will u use chromatic orbs? :D
Keep going, Exile.
Bro I’m here until the end!! Commenting and watching on every video!! Keep going man you’ve got an entire community supporting you ☺️☺️ and we will all eventually be watching trust me
Please pin this comment.
I need that Z pressed.
Also, mazing editing skill, man!
Keep it going.
Please no, do not press it ! :D
The poe community in general love watching new players. Because the game has a Hard learning curve that is very rewarding. Watching you over come the same mistakes we all made as new players is fun. I suggest you give it a good try. The game gets increasingly fun as you learn. Looking forward to your next video.
I can tell! :)
Yup we all started out lost exiles. It's a journey we are here for.
And we just like to see Diablo and Blizzard get dragged.
@@NyxVellum Watching someone actually play through the campaign and not rushing it through it, is extremely refreshing.
Seeing new players play is the funniest thing ever. Takes me back to when I started and my first character was stuck in act 3. You make all the wrong decisions, it's so fun to watch. In a few months you'll look back at this and laugh
I'm already laughing! Thanks for the comment.
My first character was a no-build guide necromancer witch. Was.....terrible. Got to maps, though, so no regerts.
I still remember the joy I had when I figured out how to squeeze in more zombie or spectre.
@@DamnDaimen just the fact you made it to maps with no guide on your first character is huge lol especially so since it was a minion build
I still barely understand POE, but watching this series, makes me realize just how much I have learned about the game in comparison from where I started.
Game knowledge in POE is not something you learn immediately; it's something that happens incrementally.
@@DamnDaimenI think this is more of a reflection on how busted minions are/were. Now you do need more gear to get it going which I think (and this will get me hate) means it's power curve is more online with other builds
I love it how you defy everything that is natural for experienced players. You reacted with “meh, I don’t want that” to like 4-5 things that are just obvious picks or things to appreciate you found. It’s so fun watching you discover the game your way. Great video series mate!
lmao i was internally screaming at those parts
As a new player myself I was nodding at most of them "Yeah I have no clue either, bro, just do it" lmao
As a veteran of almost 7k hours put into the game throughout 10 years of playing, it's always very entertaining to see fresh new players experience the game I know and love. A year or so ago I helped a friend of mine to get familiar with the game and I realized that it was comparable to teaching children. You can ask them a question that sounds SO simple in your mind like "What's 1+1?" and they counter you with a "What does the + mean?" and you realize like oh shit, yeah they are so new to everything that even the basic concepts like the plus sign you take for granted is something totally unknown to them. I had moments like that A LOT when I was helping my firend out haha.
Loving the series so far and will stick till the end for sure, can't wait to see you take a crack at the Laboratory and to ascend! Godspeed, exile!
Sounds intense! Thanks for the kind words.
With all your knowledge, is it possible to play the game, end game and have an actual working build without looking at any build paths on the internet? Cause it does feel boring that your not following your own path in fear of not being able to handle the game in the future with a sub optimal build.
@@mortiferozgaming2281 I'm on Act 9 and I'm using my own build and I love it.
@@mortiferozgaming2281 It depends on your previous experience on ARPG's and how much are you willing to look up info from the wiki or how willing you are to fail and restart. Most likely if you go completely blind, you will be able to do all 10 acts without many problems, but will reach a point in the endgame where you can't progress further cause the build is lacking something. There's also quite a lot of small details that can make a big difference in your builds, for example wording when it comes to stats; some are additive, some multiplicative, some are local and some global and so on.
My suggestion would be to do something inbetween those two choices. I would look into what builds are suggested as league starters for the current league, 3.23. League starter builds are builds that are made with the intent of taking the build into the endgame without any ingame currency. Pick a skill that looks fun and blast away. Maybe look at some build guides for the skill, check what other gems they use that are important for the build, maybe take a look at the passive tree and some useful uniques, and start from there.
@@NyxVellum Spoilers what poe players call "the end game" starts once you have cleared act 10 and played a bit after that😁 so if you continue the series after act 10 we will see how well the build does
Glad you're having more fun in act 3 :)
I'll give 3 things you missed in my comment for the algorithm:
- That greenish door in the Act 3 town is very important, you should go back and go where it tells you to go.
- Reminder to go back to Act 1 to talk to the pirate.
- If you ever want more skill and support gems, there is another area in the Imperial Garden with a lot of skill gems.
20:55 was my reaction every time you put points in the passive tree lol, hope you continue the PoE series!
I need to check that door. Thanks for the tips!
yea, when he started from the start instead to literaly grab big node with health that he was a node away :|
@@NyxVellumand complete sidequests. Some of them give skill- or respec-points as reward.
What Regal says, plus you should also check what you can buy from the vendors in town hubs.
There's definitely times where I wish I could just tell you something, but it is nice seeing you learn as you go :D
You're always in my heart, don't worry.
We were taking about it in the first video he made…give the advice bro 😎😎 he needs it, you know this game lol…he’s not following a guide but the community is coming together to help a fellow newbie…it’s so wholesome and awesome 😎
thank you for continously doing and not stopping those. they are a breath of fresh air and even tho they are 30+ they dont drag at all, excellent editing. so the whole campaign and the first 10-20 hours of endgame would feel like a treat (especially with aaaall the endgame bosses which will come)
You guys inspire me. Thank you for your support.
Yeah especially with poe
I would watch even if you made it 1hr long.
One small thing that may help is using the search bar built into the passive tree screen, typing in 'bow' highlights all the bow nodes on the tree, 'maximum life' highlights all the life increase nodes, etc. That can make it easier to figure out a path of where you might want to go next and then grab other nodes that may look good on the way.
Thanks for the info!
Love this series. Will watching you through act 10 for sure.
One very helpful gameplay tip, is to rebind your basic attack button into a walk button so you can stop accidentally shooting at enemies while clicking and move instead.
Looking forward to the next episode next week! Have fun!
Good idea! Thanks for the comment.
or you can put some defensive spell like molten shell or another one
@@NyxVellum
Agreed. This took me far too long to do. My cousin recommended it but I was stubborn. 🤦
Just wanted to say thanks for sticking through it! In my personal opinion the gameplay really picks up towards the end of act 3, into act 4, and then starts to quickly ramp from then on. A3 is like the "tutorial" phase in a lot of ways, as it was the original 3 acts that were available when the game realized back in 2013 or so.
Edit: I wanted to add, there IS a battlepass for the game. The free track gives you actual items, and the paid track is purely cosmetic. You don't get access to it until you beat the main campaign.
I'm really enjoying it. Thanks for hanging out with me.
For future reference, there is a search bar in the skill tree. If you type in "life", all the skill tree nodes that have to do with life will glow. Same with any skill like bow, elemental, etc.
Really enjoying the playthrough. Ive laughed and slapped my head a few times based on your decisions, but it reminds me of my first playthrough of the acts.
As others have said, type life into the passive tree search bar and give the labyrinth a check.
Thank you for the kind words and the head slapping haha
@@NyxVellumIn my first playthrough once I got to Highgate, I quit that character, and started a new one. Scion, witch, etc. So I could learn how to quickly get past the first three acts. The great thing about this game is, you can play any way you want. Love your playthrough so far. Great content. 👍
There is a cost to using less effective support gems like Iron Grip: every support gem has a mana multiplier, making the skill more expensive. Also opportunity cost, it could be a more effective support gem instead
Socket colors on gear is tied to the attribute requirement: strength gear is more likely to have red sockets, dexterity gear more likely to have green, hybrid dex/int more likely to have blue and green etc.
Flasks only show charges if you have enough to use them once, they appear empty until you hit that minimum threshold.
Dominus was the end of the campaign for a while. So was Piety. Then more content happened.
There's a huge important piece of content that's pretty easy to miss called the Lord's Labyrinth. You need to do trials in acts 1 2 and 3 to unlock it, then clear the Labyrinth (through that big slab in the act 3 town) to unlock Ascendancy Classes, a big chunk of character power.
Get better life flasks I'm begging you, you can buy them from the gem/jewelry vendors in town
It's a second job
The peril of creating new systems four times a year for almost a decade.@@NyxVellum
It is like your sub class, you get to speliacize and get huge power or survival bonus out of it😉
@steveaustin6591In theory, sure, but it is functionally impossible to miss Paragon in D4. If it is such an important aspect it should be more clear for a new player that it is important. I understand it is feature creep, but as he has mentioned the onboarding of these important features is not great.
Two things: there is a battle pass called "Kirac's Vault Pass" that has purely cosmetic unlocks on the paid track as you complete the endgame. I don't recommend you buy it yet.
There are actually emotes! In a sense anyway. Each character has a unique dance microtransaction ($4 USD) that is performed by typing "/dance" into chat.
Sidenote about chat commands, "/deaths" shows how many times your character has died, "/played" shows playtime, and "/remaining" shows number of monsters left in an area (up to 50). There are more, but those might be of interest
And thanks for sticking with the series, I really do hope you stick at it through the whole tutorial campaign and get to the actual core game and make a few videos of you running atlas maps with all the game mechanics in play finally
If you keep showing up I'll keep making them
@NyxVellum oh definitely will be, its interesting to see how you approach things if like you said in the video some occasional muttering "read the help/info tips in the UI!" Lol, speaking of, round glowing 'i' icons are help menus for certain windows like the halls of the dead
And gems are colour coded to attributes rather than "type of skill", so:
Red - strength gem
Blue - intelligence gem
Green - dexterity gem
Further along there's more cross typing in gem colours so intelligence/strength gems that boost a dexterity/bow centric build, so the distinction becomes more important
Hello ! Great series, i tried to see in comments if anyone talked about that but apparently no, so heres some QoL tip :
- you can look in the hotkey the key to turn on/off (like a switch) the items on the ground instead of pressing a key each time you wanna see it, its better and it make you see mechanics (essences/strongbox that spawn monster etc...) instantly
- there is a setting that makes socket/links on items always shown, its handy to know later when you already have your skills set up to see if you have to think about an item or not in the first place (if the new item looted doesnt have the corresponding socket to your skill its not needed to think if its a better item or not. Later you will be able to change socket/link but for now better to just cut down the amount of thinking done)
- you can completly change the way the minimap looks, its even possible to have it always open in a way its not obtrusive if it helps you navigate the game
good luck exile, hope you make it to the end game to really see why we all love the game. Its sad the campaing act as a gatekeeper but its worth it.
The series is going great so far! You've been going light on defenses so far, by the end of act 4 the game will be punishing you harder for lacking defenses. Looking forward to seeing you tackle it!
Hey there, glad you're really starting to enjoy the game! I've got some tips for you: 1. Do Lord's Labyrinth Quest ASAP - you don't want to skip it, do it as you go as it's verrrry important. The quest tracker will tell you whenever there's a trial in the area you're currently in, and the big statue in the Sarn Encampment will help you as well. 2. Scourge Arrow is cool as shit, especially with Herald of Swagony - Poison is really fun. Poison does Chaos damage, and is boosted by Chaos effects (usually), and Poison stacks infinitely. 3. Any class can technically do anything - outside of something you'll unlock eventually (Lord's Lab), any class can use pretty much anything with some planning. I had a Marauder (Barbarian type class) that used a bow with Scourge Arrow, and it was super good. A good way to look at the Passive Tree is that the entire thing is divided up into sections themed around each class and the Mage, Rogue, Fighter archetypes, and between them they start to blend together. So Between Marauder (fighter type) and Ranger (archer type), is the Duelist which is a Strength/Dexterity hybrid class with passives near it's starting point which reflect that. So if you were to go north of the Ranger's starting position you would go into the Shadow's part of the tree which is a Dexterity/Intelligence hybrid class that is your more traditional sneaky rogue type character that specializes in Poisons, traps and mines, Claw and Dagger weapons etc. So if you wanted to invest in Poison more on your ranger, you'd want to eventually travel North more and hit the Poison passives and Critical hit passives in the Shadow section of the tree, then dip down into the Duelist section for some of the Life nodes or invest in Energy Shield or both potentially. 4. Support gems get goofy with how they can trigger spells if you mess around with them - you can make your attacks activate spells and more.
Good Video, really enjoy to watch new players get into Poe.
Here some tips to help you a bit:
- The passive tree have a search bar, if you are looking for life, you can write life and it will highlight all the passive with life in it. so you can plan a bit more ahead. Same for Bow/poison, or if you need Intelligence/strength.
- Look into the Option, under UI, personally i like to have health bar over monsters, help to see them with all the actions. I also always have Socket Viewable, so i don't have to put my mouse on them to see sockets/colors.
- Currency can be use on more things than you think. Try a Wisdom on a Unid Stongbox ;)
The game get better the farther you get. So keep it up!
13:23 "what do I do???"
quest objectives:
- travel to the solaris temple
- travel to the solaris temple
- travel to the solaris temple
This moment made me laugh out loud when I watched it.
Great stuff. so fun seeing you do "bad" choices with the passive tree. pretty sure you took a mastery for elemental ailments. poison is not elemental. its chaos. just a hint. n dont forget about the fairgraves quest in act 1
I get so many hate comments but it's just fun to mess around in the game. Thank you!
This is legit the only Playlist that i have saved. Im checking everyday for a new upload. Please continue :D
Really enjoy this serie, discovered your channel when you released the first episode. Hope you keep more coming ❤
If I could give you one advice regarding the essences you drop from monsters trapped in crystal, read them carefully, you can craft some really good leveling items with them!
Thanks for the support. I'll give the crafting a go.
@@NyxVellum oh god, just so you know "crafting" in poe is EXTREMELY unique and different than in other games and can and will be punishing if you try to do too much too soon
I discovered this game back in 2016 and it was just way too fun dropped it a year after, came back to it during Covid same thng dropped and now im back again thanks to ur videos, im just looking forward to ur series and u got urself a new sub! thnks for the vid!!!
Watching this series is better than a Christmas gift ❤️
Little tips
1. U can buy some dash, flash or blink, one movement skill is necessary
2. Better focus on one-two skills, like caustuc arrow and balista, but if you want to use different skills you should place them in different parts of your inventory, because then you can give them three support gems each (or even five later in the game)
3.If u find weapons with worse implicit u should identify it, because weapon mods are more important
4. U can gain intelligence in a very simple way by creating it on any piece of equipment if u have free suffix slot and you can buy an amulet that gives + 20-30 int
5. U can buy skill or support gems from one seller in each act
6. if you click ctrl you will have more space for new skills and usually various auras are placed there, which gives more space in the basic skill slot and then you would have space for despire from 4:35
And last 7. If u wanna have Z on, u must download better filtr because amoun of items on the ground constantly increasing and regular filter will show you all the items including those that are useless to you
Sry if you dont understand something, but I had to use Google Translate several times 😅
This series is bringing back some old memories, please don't stop with this videos. We're all rooting for you!
I started watching because I've played a ton of PoE but I'm gonna keep watching because you have great commentary. I'll watch you play other games as well.
Also, Einhar and beast collecting is one of my favorite side-games as well :)
I'm just chilling! Thank you for hanging out.
This might be one of the best series I’ve watched in a while, I’m having loads of fun watching you go through this awesome game, plus you really have a soothing voice and chill vibe! Pls keep feeding us this awesome content!
Glad you enjoy it!
When you see these boxes that freeze you and spawn monsters, you can open inventory and use scroll to identify it and see what it will do. You're making good progress, keep it up the campain will pick up the pace a bit more now.
edit:
also new league will start on december 8th, there will be an official stream on november 30th showing what it's all about, showing league mechanic, discussing game changes and i think some snippets about PoE2.
Great tip! Thank you.
Also….I’m very very proud to see you keep going!! You’ve got my respect!! Finish the game and I’ll be subbed FOREVER

Loving how open you go through the game! I have helped a lot of friends through the game when they first started playing and it's always awesome seeing people discover the full extent of content that was added over the years!
The Hall of the Dead for example is only there until the next league in december starts, then there is a new gimmick for that league. Other things like the Menagerie are permanent additions that won't go away that quickly (but they were a league specific mechanic back then as well).
For stuff you might've missed:
Some quests don't start with talking to a NPC but with picking up an item in the world or exploring all the maps fully. Otherwise try finding the Trials of Ascension (you already found one) which unlocks more stuff for you!
this is basically essence of POE it keeps getting better further You go, especially endgame where You can interact with all sorts of mechanics, POE is like Billy Mays "But wait, there's more!"
So far so good!
until you hit a wall in endgame and figure out that only official builds are actually viable and you have to reskill your entire char and for this you need to farm :D
@@VitalijMik that's the part of the course, You go hit the wall, You go for meta build steamroll and learn what made this build work so well and implement it in Your own next try
@@m1xxx3r well but PoE could somehow say that at the start, like hey your build sux, dont need to go to Arc 10. it is really like "oh you beat the game, now you cant do level 1 maps"
@@VitalijMiklol wut? I recently came back into the game since 2018. I went blind, guideless using my own crafted build, with my own self found gear, now going into Elderslayers.
You just need to realize what’s getting you killed, then build into keeping alive while keeping dmg. Then adjust your build as you go, you get so much respec and orb of regrets.
It’s not just hours or merely just following guide, but using what you know and understanding what makes you fail, even if you die a million times.
Great video, would advice you to do the quest in the library (act 3) , it gives you access to a lot of gems
Don't worry about buying a battlepass, its only available after the campaign , and is purely cosmetic.

I love how you're exploring every little aspects that come your way, It's refreshing seeing someone new trying everything.
Keep It up man
I don't know why anyone isn't telling you in the comments but pick up better life flasks you are using the first ones that you had at the start of the game that heal like 50 hp or whatever and if you pick up a current one for your level it can go up to like 1000. That's a big part of suvivability
I eventually figured it out, thank you :)
@@NyxVellum Also you ran around for three acts without any necklace until diala gave you one ahahah. Also, pay attention to your quests or you'll miss one of the most defininf features to your evolution: ascensions
And give a vendor 3 mana or life flasks of the same tier to get Back one of the next tier. This way you can upgrade your lower flasks.
I loved your reaction when you hit phase 2 of the act 3 boss! Really took me back! :)
Also when you went into the halls of the dead and realized it was a game within the game. Love the series! So much fun to watch!
You can use identiffy scrolls in your inventory to see what are the options of the Strongboxes. That's why it says UNIDENTIFIED.
Same with normal strongboxes, you can make them rare or almost anything you want
Some flasks can roll an "unfreeze" option, so u use it right after you open the box and run away.
You can use the SEARCH FUNCTION on the tree to look for nodes you need. f.e. "Life" will highlight life nodes.
I don't think him knowing where the life nodes are at would help seeing where he went with the passives lol
@@matte5404 it all converges at some point in his gaming life haha
I'm not particularly good at this game although I've been playing it for a while. Seeing your journey as a new player has made me realize how much I've trivialized all the stuff that you are slowly but surely starting to understand. And it's funny to see you make mistakes that I now consider obvious, but back when I started playing I also had no idea that I was doing something wrong. There's so many tips and clarifications I'd love to give, but you've made it clear that you want to let the game guide you so I won't interfere, learning and figuring things out for yourself is part of the fun.
The game only keeps opening until you reach the end game, so I'm looking forward to the next video on the series. Hope you keep having fun, exile! ;)
The Scion is the only class you can unlock and she is the only 1 starting from the middle of the passive tree.
@@jogadorjnc shhhhhh no spoilers ;P
@@BraveBucket actually, fair enough
Keep going man. These videos are great entertainment and seeing the game from the perspective of a new player is very refreshing for those of us that are few thousand hours in.
PoE is like the gift that keeps on giving, the further you get the more and more it'll give you. The biggest barrier of entry for most new players is when they first open the skill tree, they feel intimidated by all the nodes and go "this is too complicated" and quit. You've passed the "here's where new players quit" point so as long as you like what you're seeing - can guarantee you it keeps getting better and better.
The new league is coming in less than a month, hopefully you enjoy the game enough to stick around for a couple of leagues and you'll get the experience to theorycraft your own build to where it'd be endgame ready eventually and THAT's when PoE really becomes that special game that lets you really call your character/build truly YOURS and it shoots to "best ARPG ever" status
Not sure if you've discovered this accidentally by now, or whether people have shouted about it, but your modifier keys give you additional ability slots for QWERT.
I've seen this!
The e-boney barracks and the aquadickt, my new favourite areas
AquaDickT, ohh yeees ❤
Great stuff- good to see you are having fun. I'm wondering if you get to maps. Will you like it. Oh and in this act you have delv. My favorite side activity.
The reason I watch is because your commentary is great and you have fun insights. As in, you notice something and then become excited when it happens. I want to spoil some lore, but since you are committed, continue on your path, Exile!
You need to complete the Library quest line in Act 3. It's the other area that's connected to the imperial garden. It'll help you by opening up your build options MUCH MUCH more. Being vague cuz i don't want to spoil what you get
some tips:
- there's a side area in the imperial gardens (the library) with an npc called Siosa. After you've done his optional sidequest he will unlock his shop. I feel like you might enjoy looking through his shop.
- if you lack strength/int/dex, jewellry is usally the place to get a 'statfix'. look through the magic shop in each town, they might sell amulet or ring with the stat youre missing. there's also a bunch of +30 stat nodes scattered over the tree that you can (temporarily) take.
- get a travel ability. flame dash happens to be my favorite, but blink arrow is nice too. allows you to skip cliffs/some walls/some doors. overall, a nice QoL.
- your hp is impressively low - i tend to aim for ~250 per act. so by that logic you should be roughly at 750~1000 for act 4. The crafting bench in your hideout is your friend! can hold Alt to see if something is a prefix or suffix.
- don't skip the ascendancy trials! they are 1000% worth backtracking for. The rewards of ascension are commonly your biggest power spikes during leveling. The first ascension happens after the 6th trial.
- throwing out an unidentified bow "because it is weaker" is a possible missed chance. Identify it; the mods on a weapon also modify the displayed damage ranges.
Can't wait for the next one.
Btw the campaign is also called the tutorial of POE *grins*
It's a long ass tutorial.
@@NyxVellum Yeah it takes quite a long time the first time you do it probably took me like 30 or 40 hours. But once you get used to it and know what to do when rerolling a new character you can do it in 4-6 hours :p
God i wish i could relive falling in love with Einhar (the mengerie guy) for the first time all over again!
i'm living vicariously through u as u play through the acts and im glad ure enjoying playing and not feeling forced to do so just cz the videos are doing well.
i know the game has a steep learning curve and frustrations, but each act is better than the last and those moments whena particular item or gem just activates ur build in a whole new way, its just so satisfying in my opinion.
P.S. press C and take a moment to go through your defences in the character stats panel. ure gonna have to start building some resistances
You seem to be enjoying it more as you experience more of the game. My next suggestion would be to look into "Loot Filters". They help hide a lot of the completely useless items and you'll eventually get to the point where the entire screen is just covered in item drops and it will almost be necessary.
I've looked it up, I don't like that I need 3rd party files, but I appreciate that it's there for sure.
@@NyxVellum in a way the game encourages loot filters as you have to load them up through the settings. Similarly, the hideout decoration layout can be saved as a file and shared with other players.

@@NyxVellum Unfortunately, they are all but required, there will drop SO much garbage loot (like, I'm not joking, the floor will be covered wall to wall like a carpet of items, it's so dumb). It's not hard to install though
Eventually, it's literally mandatory. You will not be able to see anything, nor click on the floor to move. The loot explosions in this game are ridiculous, and without using filterblade at least (which takes 2 minutes to set up. Log into your account on filterblade, choose a filter, save it, go back to game and open settings for loot filter, amd choose the one you made on filterblade) the game becomes literally unplayable, in both ways. One, you turn drops off entirely and miss picking anything up ever, or have it on, and have thousands of items on your screen and you can't see or move without clicking on items. Both are awful, so you really NEED a loot filter for this game. Like, it's not even an optional thing after a certain point. Either you get one or the game becomes completely impossible to play. But that's also why filterblade is built into poe, but requires the website to set up. Just like item trading is built into the game, but requires the website to do it.
Love getting to hear the thought process behind your actions. Of all the acts, I feel like 2 and 7 are fine for moving things along but aren't as full feeling as the others. Also love the MTX commentary lol
At one point in time act 3 was the end of the campaign.
Also: The passive tree has a search function (in the centre top of the screen)
And now it has 12 acts. The game really came a long way.
Enjoying the playthrough! You should turn on the ability to see your gem sockets and links on at all times. Makes it a lot easier to see what gear is an upgrade since sockets/links are generally more powerful than stats on items especially early on.
I would also suggest playing around with crafting gear a little more. In PoE just because an item is yellow doesnt mean its better than blue or even white because of sockets, links, and crafting opportunities. Its okay to "waste" crafting mats early on especially since you're learning the game w/o guides.
You're getting the idea of what I spoke on in the last video.... the more you play the more fun the game gets with all of the extra ways to gain experience. The "story" is more of a tutorial to get you to endgame maps and other activities. You'll continue to find more and more to do along your path.
You can use 4 more spells, press ctrl and see your action bars change. Advise: put passives on 2nd(ctrl) bar and get a movement ability. There are vendors that sell gems and having a mobility skill is crucial, especially when you get surrounded, but you can also jump over walls with some movement abilities.
Glad you are doing it the right way! no guides make it so much more fun! I did the same on my first play through had an absolute blast!
You need a loot filter (really easy to install) and you should toggle to allow all loot droppped to show up.
I think he already has one, because the silver coins were showing up large and purple.
I know I'm so triggered watching this with the loot hidden lol, he's gonna miss a chaos or divine doing this
glad you get to have more fun than last time so I'll take this opportunity to answer some question from all those previous episode.
1. are there any way to see if the support gems work
yes. if you hover them in shop of the quest reward they just show you and you can just hover them in the gear if they lit up they are working.
2. I can see you start to look for specific stats from your passive tree try using the search function for that thing you need eg. life, strength, reservation etc.
3. you can get more gems in shop after you complete the quest that offer you one they also got more than they offer from reward. also they are already leveled with you since you are still low level so feel free so try them out as they are quite cheep.
4. I highly suggest that you complete those trial quest line in act 3. I really want to see your reaction for that not gonna lie.
5. if you happen to reroll your item in stash are there to help you get back there quicker if you want to.
"I was bullied into playing this by the Path of Exile community."
You're welcome 😃
Act 3 is my favorite. I think Sarn being sort of Byzantine is such a nice departure from the usual medieval Europe we're saturated with.
"I don't have Prismatic Burst anymore. **But I don't caaaaaaaare.**" Yeah, you get it now lol
Poison isn't an elemental ailment, as it deals Chaos damage, and Chaos damage isn't elemental, so you can put that Mastery node into a different one if you want (I won't get into the specifics about what poison is and how it works unless you absolutely want it). And Flasks can be such a game-changer if you have the right ones with the right modifiers.
And PLEASE upgrade your life flasks to a bigger size LOL
It's a trip! Thanks for the comment and the support.
@@NyxVellum Of course! Your fellow exiles are here to help, always!
I’ve been here since episode one and I’m so happy I commented !! I hope that helped push you to wanna keep going to try hit level 95 ;) this is so awesome man!! I hit the bell now because I’m following this series closely ! I think it’s SO COOL you actually decided to take up the challenge.
Thank you for the support!
Enjoy your last free moments of life. Soon you'll be deeply addicted to this game, like rest of us :) Jokes aside, the series is amazing, keep it up!
It's growing on me.
@@NyxVellum Its the endgame that will get you, as in, it has an endgame, unlike D4
I like you commitment to not follow guides! It makes me relive that felling I had in 2013 when I started playing this game. Please keep going!
You may consider unlocking Ascendancy, this is something that can really change your acts experience, I know that you don't want spoilers but the game was talking about it to you but you probably missed it, so not that big spoiler. I know you've already collected some trials in acts 1-3 but you need all 6 (1 in act 1, 2 in act 2, 3 in act 3) to unlock first Labirynth in Sarn (act3).
I understood some of those words
@@NyxVellum you know, those green plaques that are behind some traps and stuff?
you should check act 3 town 1 more time ;)@@NyxVellum
Small blunders here and there keeping me entertained and on edge, but you have really awsome insights. looking forward to next vid!
You know the Allflame is an Act 1 quest item, yes? You are supposed to use it in the Ship Graveyard.
no he doesn't know that's the point of these videos
I'll check it out!
Oooooh excited! I love these so far! The ONLY tip I'll give, as you dont need to be overloaded eith stuff anymore than the game already does, is you do have a second ability bar! It's ctrl+qwert, Holding ctrl will show your second row of skills!
Thanks! Hope you liked it
@@NyxVellumabsolutely, it's been a blast to watch. Don't let the idea people are sitting at the screen yelling about perfect optimization, those that are, don't get the point of your videos ❤ and make sure you check out that second ability bar, it's the only game changing tip you really need!
GO BACK TO ACT 1 AND TALK TO CLARISSA. BUY DASH/FLAME DASH/BLINK ARROW. You always need a movement skill. Try each one and see which one you like the most
Will do
@@NyxVellum Act 1 is Nessa, but yes, get a movement skill. :)
really enjoying this series! it's a lot of fun seeing very new players figure things out, and the campaign really starts to pick up in and beyond act 3 too. i'm interested to see if you find any bizarre ways to screw yourself over (probably not in permanent ways), my favorite example of this from my own early days was spending literal real days thinking i was having some kind of bizarre bug that made enemies refuse to die at 1 HP for unpredictable lengths of time, and then finally discovering literally dozens of hours later that my build which extremely lowered my chance to freeze enemies in exchange for more damage or something was clashing with a single stat line on a unique that i hadn't paid enough attention to that made me incapable of killing things unless they were frozen.
also, about flask-related skills: it definitely depends on the build but personally i actually get a lot of mileage out of having some passives that improve flask use. the array of flasks late and endgame characters use can be wildly different from build to build, but in general flasks are extremely important.
Thank you for the kind words and the write up!
6:41 ... that gave me a brain cancer
Praying for a speedy recovery 🙏🙏🙏
@@NyxVellum im already healed no worries :D you could have split ur tree father instead of going back to start lol but its okey :3 and you can add Blue or red support juct click alt to see if they support ur spell :D
There was a lot of internal screaming when seeing you picking the passive skill tree path XD
Good video.
nice one :) quick QoL tips:
Check out the settings to see some more options like always showing sockets on items in your inventory even without mousing over them.
Crafting is in your hideout which you can teleport to from every waypoint, dont worry about it being complicated or you wasting your orbs just put in a item with less than 6 mods and craft on anything u want, easy upgrades.
In your shoes id say its best not to actually listen to too much stuff in the comments, as it quickly overwhelms newer players, i think QoL is fine because it just makes your experience more enjoyable but the rest you should just tackle, if somethings overwhelming think if its super important or not, and if not just check it out whenever you feel like it and just focus on the stuff you like.
Or you just ask during the video once you want some tips, and people in the comments can help you out on the stuff u actually want help with! :)
So glad you're enjoying your playthrough! Only thing I'd offer as a tip (don't wanna take away from the process of discovery!): since you're running out of space on your skill binds for new skills, you can bind some of the more passive/not frequently used skills to the secondary skillbar (by default accessed by holding 'control' iirc)
Comment for the algorithm- I didn't know who you were before seeing the first video in the series pop up, I watched it and subscribed so I don't miss the rest of the series. I have way to many hours on PoE but enjoy watching others play it for the first time. The first game I got into was Diablo II back in the late 90's and have loved most of the ARPG's along the way. I'm currently playing Grim Dawn if you haven't tried that one yet. Either way keep up the good work, PoE is an amazing game with some interesting bosses and a fun end game.
I'm really excited to see another exile in the making, trust me Nyx, once you get your first Ascendacy points, your fun with the game is gonna go up tenfold! Generally first Labyrinth (first Ascendancy points) is done around half-way through act 4. Keep going, absolutely loving this series!
Leaving a comment to help you with the algorithm! Thank you for showing us your experience with the game, it's fun to watch!
I rarely comment, but this was a great video and series so far. Spoiler free tip is to make sure to get some resistances up after act 5 or you will face many more deaths then you already have. Good luck!
HELL YE, PART 3! best series on youtube currently
Big words. Thanks for the comment and the support!
When you watch someone play a game you love you get to vicariously live that old nostalgic feeling of discovery again.
I just commented on the last video saying I could give you orbs of regret to change your build and went to your channel now to see part 3 is up already, regardless the offer still stands :D I am loving this series though, thank you for making it!
Send them over, I keep dying.
@@NyxVellum idk how to send you my ign cause I don't really want to post it on youtube lmao
Love watching this series because it's a nice refreshing feeling to watch somebody discover the game for the first time, enjoy things I consider a choir. Discovered the series by accident, can't get enough. Also, there is a battle pass type thing, but it's for endgame, you are still 7 episodes away from that, and the paid tier of it only provides cosmetics.
Was a very fun watch. Glad you managed to find the Aqua Duck in the end :D
I like how he is boosting his lvl 1 Healtpot with 3 Passive Skills, while reaching act 4. Tip top gameplay, recommend! /s Pretty funny series and the video cutting makes it a steady and interesting viewerexperience over 30 minutes. Nice work as well!
im loving this videos its such a fun experience seeing someone learning the game by itself
Thank you!
Another sick video! Thanks - I look forward to these the most out of all my subs these last few weeks. Def can't wait till you get a loot filter and keep loot showing so you don't miss anything good :)
Great video, really happy seeing you continue this series :D
And I'll leave the same tip as last time: you can buy more gems in each town at Nessa in Act 1, Yeena in 2 and Clarissa in 3
Hi, really enjoying the video, I just love seeing new people getting into PoE! I realize that you want to play by yourself without guides but just a handful of QoL tips from me ;)
- change your basic attack on LPM to move only, it will help a lot, believe me
- you can hold CTRL to see 5 more ability slots, you can put your Herald/Auras there (you can also rebind second bar, you dont have to see it to use skills from there)
I hope you're having as much fun as we do :)
Love watching these! as a little tip, if you keep pressed ctrl you'll see more skill slots. Thats where i usually put my auras and stuff so they don't clutter my skillbar :)
I've really been enjoying this series, especially all of your "aha!" moments. You hit the nail on the head with your comment about freedom - not that freedom is exclusive to PoE, but the degree to which it is offered is one of the best things about the game. I also appreciate that you're paying attention to the lore. Maybe once you're finished you can explain what the heck is going on to people like me who skip it. Cheers.
Love this series, i have over 7k hours of game and it's just so much fun watching you make the same bad and good decisions i did back when i started. Hope you're enyoing the game too. Keep it up!
I remember when killing dominus at the end of act 3 was the end of the campaign. There is a huge amount of content ahead of you, no time to worry about missing anything. The new side content that gets introduced in act 4 is one of my favorites
Love your videos.
my small tip, choosing a different necklace than dexterity next time would allow you more flexibility for gear and gems going forward, as a ranger you get enough dex from the tree :)
Looking forward to the next video and to see which ascendency you will chose :)
Also props to the editor! he's killing it
I'm loving the series and I'm excited for the next video!
A very small tip is to check out the help menu in the bottom right, next to the shop button. It's not great, but it could give some very helpful insight or recommendations while playing.
Ngl, I was waiting all week for this upload! Keep it up man, much love! 🙏
I hope you enjoyed it, more to come :)
Thank you for continuing with this series, I'm loving it so much and the editing it's amazing
19:00 I loved because it was kind of comforting, after having all this knowledge, watching someone discover it for themselves, it was just kind of sweet. I felt like a parent watching their kid figure something out.
What you missed is the crafting bench in your hideout. It lets you add modifiers to your item. Very powerful at all points in the game.
