Bravo to you Andy! Your presentation gave me a clear understanding of how mixed meshing works, and the method by which contact sets are created. This is just what I needed. I spent many hours attempting to properly set up bonds between structural members (beams) and solids, but with intermittent success. I now see where I was in error. I have subscribed and I hope others can benefit from your presentation as well. Thanks!
I have a couple of questions about your explanation with shell model case (Video time - 41.40), 1. In your explanation you mentioned that with mixed meshing we must use incompatible mesh but with shell model option there is no mixed meshing as both the elements are converted to shell elements. 2. During explanation the model appeared to have incompatible mesh but when you were explaining Global bonded contact used in this simulation it had compatible mesh option turned on. In this case, how the model generated incompatible mesh?
Is there any possible way I can get the email of guy working on solidworks? I have a project for the university and I want to do a 3D model and the same one but shell... I did my 3D model and it works. For my shell I have a hard time to contact my stuff.
