To answer the question about how your star rating went from 3 to 2, Isabelle only takes in consideration the land you have access to. So for the small portion of land, you had met the game requirements that gives you three stars. However, when you begin building inclines and bridges, you now open your access of land to basically the entire map (even if you didn’t build a bridge or incline to access all of it) but the games coding basically says “oh! you have an incline- so now you must have access to everything” and now your requirements to get a 3 star gets bigger.
@@Dagnel it was probably weeds, at a certain number of weeds they deduct points from your island rating. Or maybe a bridge was built overnight that made the game realize you accessed that area?
Challenge Idea: How fast can you get all of the expressions (laughter, delight, joy, etc.) in the game? There a lot of expressions that are obtained in varied ways so it could be interesting.
I haven't messed with Nookazon in a while, but man is it like crack. Once you get a bunch of stuff to sell it's insane trying to manage all the offers you get flooding in.

Looking into how island evals go, while I can't find a reason for deterioration, there might have been some confusion on what counts as "development" vs "scenery". According to NintendoLife, scenery is flowers and DIY, while development is non-DIY furniture, ramps, and buildings. This is odd because Isabelle, while telling you to focus on scenery, also suggests you "decorate the island". Definitely weird! Idk if dagnel was displaying tradeable furniture items while he got evals, but this might explain why it was so difficult to make the star rating go back up after it dropped.
Part of why I think this took longer is because you used so many of the same items like stone stools. The game actually gives you more points for using different types of furniture, especially if it's crafted (which you did), outdoorsy, large, and expensive. So if you have a bunch of the same items it will raise your score but not by much.
i’m also part of Facebook groups like “i’m high and this is animal crossing” is a really good one and so is “ACNH: Ladies” people on there will also be extremely generous to the point where it makes you want to be more generous! i give things away all the time just because i get things!
Really enjoyed the challenge, but I think that you REALLY understated how much people will sell things for on Nookazon. I really think that Crescent moon chair went for 450 NMT legitimately, and it wasn't someone trying to help you out. I personally had to pay 1mil bells for the DIY recipe for it. It made it seem like you were making it intentionally harder- which is fine. Still made for a really good vid :)

I've never used Nookazon before because I've just been scared to to be honest, scared of getting scammed and of interacting with other humans in general. Not only that, there's also just a part of me that would rather try and do everything myself. Still, this has made me feel better about using Nookazon if I ever decide to.
Theres also a way if a person is scamming u and they leave quickly just turn off ur switch completely and it will lose all progress and both people will crash making ur stuff still there :)
Check the star rating and look for legitimate reviews (not just one person creating numerous accounts and rating themselves 5 stars). I've done hundreds of trades on Nookazon and I've never been outright scammed, although receiving a different variant of a wishlist item has been a consistent problem. A lot of people don't pay attention to it. Overall, it's been a great experience. Most traders are fair, honest, and eager to help.
On nookazon It’s best to check the amount of stars the person has and and reviews And also if you don’t want the person to fully go around your island it’s a good idea to fence the entrance so the person doesn’t fully go around the island.
video idea: pay off all your house loans and/or get a five star island selling only crops. carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, pumpkins, wheat, sugarcane, the works. i did the math and you need around 16,000 crops total to fully pay off your house loans. if you do this challenge, then i wish you luck bc i’m doing it myself right now
I really appreciate you putting in the stretch break dude, I was working on a project with this in the background and when it stopped I looked over and realized I'd been hunched over my board for 20 minutes!
For the star rating, I think it's a combination of land access (the more land you can access with bridges and inclines increases, therefore the criteria expands) and post-concert, as that unlocks pathing, which is apart of the rating. Think of your star raring pulling from two separate tables, and they permanently switch once you hit the trigger
I will say that this is a pretty standard Nookazon experience (once you both meet up, that is). I've never actually had a bad experience on there. Everyone is very polite and many are quite generous, which compels others to show the same type of generosity and positive interactions. I'm sure you had some fans making offers, but the ones you met up with were probably just folks trying to make your day. That's how it was back when I played. Made me want to pay it forward.

new absolutely tedious challenge: randomize a list of 10 villagers (or pick) but you can only get them by hunting on mystery islands. you could decide whether or not you wanted to start from scratch with the tickets or just have them sent to your island.
You should definitely try: Getting every clothing article (color changes not included, IE the dreamy pink and blue dress) Or getting every DIY recipe If either are too difficult, what about getting an island of the most popular (or least popular) villagers, only from campsites or islands

i have 2 theories for why this challenge was so hard 1) dropped items heavily effect the star rating so if you dropped any items off in your stash before logging off that could be the reason your stars dropped from 4 to 3 2) isabelle might have been asking for non-crafted furniture (not sure if that’s categorized differently than craft d furniture for decoration) and because you focused heavily on crafted furniture it didn’t go up as fast
So, The answer for the 3 star to 2 star drop was answered, I actually ran into the same problem you did at the 4 star to 3 star drop, when I aimed for 5 stars originally. Isabelle was kind enough to lay it out flat for me. Too many of one item on your island gets penalized. I had too many stone stools on my island which led to the dialogue "too overcrowded by items" Despite me only having about 15 of the damn things on my island at the time and they were no where near each other. So all those stone stools and clay pitchers? yeah, you probably had too many of them. You need appealing scenery but Isabelle also wants variety. x.x
i don’t know how well this would work since you need to have experienced that season to get the islands to show up but it would be fun to see you try to complete the museum by only visiting kappn’ islands

beardo was my first camper in the game too. it was horrible. i hated the experience. but i have since healed from it (that was two years ago) and didnt get mad when i met him on a villager hunt recently. i decided against speaking to him tho

The answer is yes nookazon is amazing if you need materials or nmt or bells quick I recommend farming seasonal items or stuff that you can’t really get unless you time travel I’ve made so many bells from selling trees
Ooh a good challenge is to see how long it takes him to get all his favorite villagers on his island without using amiibo or any aids just going on dodo island trips or through campers. I love your challenges I know it takes a long time just to create these vids so I get so happy to watch these.
Here's another challenge idea including Nookazon! Try to get the most popular villagers using nookazon Here's some rules (you can edit them or add more if you want -w-") - Get the 10 most popular villagers (Ex; Shino, Raymond, Marshal, etc) - You can trade for any of the villagers using Bells, Nook Miles Tickets or Wishlists Items - You can also trade for any of the villagers by trading OTHER villagers (Ex; Trade Goldie for Judy) - (This one's optional) You can wait for any villager to trade or one of the populars in the campsite. Or you can also go to a Dodo Island to hopefully get any villager to trade or one of the populars as well Hope you see this! n_n)/✨✨
Idk if this would get you to 5 stars faster but the advice I followed online was to decorate your beaches. Isabel drops my rating any time I remove flowers or items from the beaches so it might have a bigger impact than it originally seems
The weeds did influence your rating in nl but they dont in nh anymore because they look cool and Nintendo was considerate enough to allow us to use them to decorate.
I think the reason you may have had 3 stars on your first island rating was probably due to you having the items you had to trade as "placed" items rather than "dropped" items, and even still, I think some dropped items count as being "decor," because I know Isabelle tends to say sometimes the reason you may have a low rating is due to villagers thinking you have "junk" every where (junk=random dropped items)... I think tho lol, not suuupper sure but that's my guess lol.
Btw the 30 nmt offer and other high offers werent necessarily from viewers. some people (me too lmao) are so loaded they just throw nmts and bells around. I tend to offer really high even when the item isnt worth that much just because i can. That's just nookazon
This video was so fun and yet frustrating to watch. Lol. It may be extreme, but how about a challenge to reach 100 million bells in your ABD, only relying on fish or bugs to reach that goal?
fun fact! unlike in other games, weeds do NOT affect star rating in new horizons! truly no one really knows how star rating works, not even nintendo themselves.
I am not sure what happened in this particular case, but it's worth noting that it is possible to have too many flowers I believe. Or trees, maybe both, can't exactly remember. Also, even with more furniture placed, you could have a lower score, as you get more points for having more than x number of things within a grid square.

If you're not careless then you won't get scammed. Checking potential trader profiles is a surefire way of telling whether they're trustworthy or not.

The answer is yes nookazon is amazing if you need materials or nmt or bells quick I recommend farming seasonal items or stuff that you can’t really get unless you time travel I’ve made so many bells from selling trees

Ooh a good challenge is to see how long it takes him to get all his favorite villagers on his island without using amiibo or any aids just going on dodo island trips or through campers. I love your challenges I know it takes a long time just to create these vids so I get so happy to watch these.

- Get the 10 most popular villagers (Ex; Shino, Raymond, Marshal, etc)
- You can trade for any of the villagers using Bells, Nook Miles Tickets or Wishlists Items
- You can also trade for any of the villagers by trading OTHER villagers (Ex; Trade Goldie for Judy)
- (This one's optional) You can wait for any villager to trade or one of the populars in the campsite. Or you can also go to a Dodo Island to hopefully get any villager to trade or one of the populars as well

Idk if this would get you to 5 stars faster but the advice I followed online was to decorate your beaches. Isabel drops my rating any time I remove flowers or items from the beaches so it might have a bigger impact than it originally seems
The weeds did influence your rating in nl but they dont in nh anymore because they look cool and Nintendo was considerate enough to allow us to use them to decorate.

I think the reason you may have had 3 stars on your first island rating was probably due to you having the items you had to trade as "placed" items rather than "dropped" items, and even still, I think some dropped items count as being "decor," because I know Isabelle tends to say sometimes the reason you may have a low rating is due to villagers thinking you have "junk" every where (junk=random dropped items)... I think tho lol, not suuupper sure but that's my guess lol.
Btw the 30 nmt offer and other high offers werent necessarily from viewers. some people (me too lmao) are so loaded they just throw nmts and bells around. I tend to offer really high even when the item isnt worth that much just because i can. That's just nookazon

fun fact! unlike in other games, weeds do NOT affect star rating in new horizons! truly no one really knows how star rating works, not even nintendo themselves.

I am not sure what happened in this particular case, but it's worth noting that it is possible to have too many flowers I believe. Or trees, maybe both, can't exactly remember. Also, even with more furniture placed, you could have a lower score, as you get more points for having more than x number of things within a grid square.
