    Thank you for sharing your experience and all the tips for installing this deflector as they came in very handy when I did mine yesterday.

    if anyone is worried about sticking the bumpons to the hood, why not just stick em to the back side of the bug deflector instead?

    Thanks for the install video. Curious if the weathertech branding sticker is easily removable? Also, its been 4 years, any issues on longevity?

    Why not put those bump stops on the back of the deflector?

    Hey, so i just installed avs bug deflector on my 4runner too but after installing, it won’t latch on. Did you do any adjustments? Or you just push the hood down hard?

    I just put this on a 2015 4Runner I notice little difference in bugs before and bugs after install.

    Nice video, is the deflector rubbing against the hood and grill frame causing paint damage to the seam edges?

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is rubbing a little bit on the top of the grill but is completely covered by the hood deflector itself. Will be noticeable if I remove deflector though.

      @@4LOWeRUNNER thank you. I’ve since purchased one and installed it. I chose to put 3M door edge guards on to protect the edges. 3M Door Edge Protection Film, 08582. Walmart had the best price. Thanks again!

    I know this is an old video, but did the deflector run on the top of the front fascia? I’m returning an avs one for that reason.

    Hey Mike, love the video. Just installed mines deflector too. Btw, what that basket on top of your roof rack?

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The roof rack is a Yakima Mega Warrior that comes with the 4Runner Venture, Land Cruiser and now 4Runner Trail that I know of. You don't have to purchase a vehicle to get one though. yakima.com/products/megawarrior

    What's your long term review of this? Does a lot of dust/dirt/rocks get inside it, possibly leaving scratches and paint chips? I'm looking into deflectors or paint protection film, but gathering pros/cons.

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope to get a video done for a long term review but it may be a bit. No dust or dirt or leaves or anything like that gets stuck in mine. The only part I have noticed that rubs a little is on the top of the front bumper. It is scuffing a little but the deflector covers it. There is no rubbing or paint chipping on the hood at all. Just on the top of the bumper the deflector is rubbing because the fit is snug. I imagine with a little adjustment this can be avoided. Hope this helps.

  • @JGstunts22

    I wish they made them to fit tight to the vehicle .. imo they look weird sticking way up so I decided to go with 3m vinyl protection instead . Good video tho

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      WeatherTech does make one that is tight to the vehicle. It is the hood protector. What I install in the video is the hood deflector. Check out www.weathertech.com/toyota/2020/4runner/hood-protector/

    Nice - just received mine today for a 2019 4runner ORP. Do you think installing the bump-ons on the underside of the deflector itself - maybe just a couple of them? I can see it would take a lot to actually push it down onto the paint.

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't bother putting them on the hood but it is entirely up to you. That being said, I have noticed rubbing on the top of the grill, underneath the deflector, so maybe that is the place to put them but this may prevent the hood from closing. I'm going to look into seeing if maybe the hood can be adjusted a little to accommodate the deflector better.

    • @TheOutdoorProfessor416

      @@4LOWeRUNNER I installed today. I'll bet that the 3M adhesive back clear bra material could be used to prevent chafing in that area. I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks

    Did you look at the low profile WeatherTech hood protector as well? if so, what made you decide to pick the one you did? I am trying to decide between the two. Thanks.

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I did originally get that by accident but I didn't want anything that actually attached to the paint on the hood. The protector is just to protect the front edge of the hood while the deflector is meant to deflect stones and bugs away from the hood and windshield. The protector attaches by adhesive on top of the hood while the deflector attaches by screws under the hood. I preferred the look of the deflector also.

    Hey man, I got exactly the same 4runner couple weeks ago, what tires did you put on (size and brand)? Thanks for video.

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tire size I have currently is stock 265/70-17. It came with the Nitto Terra Grapplers. Planning to upgrade to 285/70-17 Nitto Ridge Grappler or Trail Grappler now that I just installed my stage 7 Icon suspension kit last week. Video soon to come.

    Man I get so many damn bugs all over my 4runner but hate the way these deflectors look but man I might have to do it purely for the function. Can’t stand having bugs splattered everywhere all the time

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't find too many bugs on my windshield so I guess it's doing its job. Haven't had any further rocks or stones hit either.

      I live in Midwest and it doesn’t do much in the way of bug deflecting as far as I’m concerned.

    U think this will help with rock chips

    • @4LOWeRUNNER
      @4LOWeRUNNER  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is supposed to help deflect small stones and bugs but I image it can't stop them all. I imagine it does do some deflecting but doubt it's really noticeable. I suppose in most cases it won't prevent a rock or stone from hitting your hood or windscreen but it may change the angle of it enough to prevent a chip from occurring.
