My mum slept in the living room so my sister and I could have a room each as teenagers. I used to feel really ashamed but since going to uni I've realised that I am a lot stronger, a lot savvier than the average young adult, I have a different understanding of money, I hoard like crazy, I'm definitely scared hahaha. but all those years feeling left out has actually prepared me much better for the world than a lot of my friends. Silver lining I guess

Taz, i think this is what drew me to your channel and one of the big things that keeps me coming back. You’re relatable, realistic, and kind. As someone who grew up internalizing a “scarcity mindset” since there was never quite enough, I relate to your feelings of fear, anxiety, and guilt surrounding money. One of my goals this year is grow into a healthier view of money as an adult. Best of luck to you on the journey, too!
Being scared about losing money is a thing when you're younger (having grown up working class). But my dad worked his way up from the slums and he always tells me that losing money (in business, not gambling or being irresponsible or stuff) is okay, because he can always earn it back. What you do, and how you work at what you got is your main investment. Looks like you have it. :)

Thank you for the little talk about circumstances as a kid can really impact your life in the future! I also had the same struggle so I really understand 🥺♥︎
I agree that paying rent can feel like money wasted; my parents' mortgage payments are less than my rent and at the end of it all they get the house and I get to move again and get my deposit back. BUT living on my own (ok with my fiance but still) has been a valuable experience. Moving out is truly like being a baby bird kicked out of the nest because you need to figure out how to budget and make sure your bills are paid or else your internet gets cut off or your lights go out or you don't have heat in January. The first time my fiance and I reviewed all our monthly expenses, discovered everything was paid and we had money leftover? That feeling was gold. So while renting can feel like a money sink, moving out on your own teaches you the hard way what it means to be independent.
So grateful that TH-cam suggested your video to me months ago when I was in search of tips to living in London. I took a challenge of moving to London, away from family, friends and my comfort zone, to start a new job and to experience living on my own. Your story of growing up and knowing how to struggle financially was really relatable. Please keep on making these videos of pure fun, tips, challenges, and just about carrying on with life's challenges because it's going to be fine. Bless you ❤️
the way i relate to taz` childhood so much and im 13 right now!! we love you taz and youre so so strong :) we are here for you and im so glad you seem to be happier now
I still live at home, but i hope that in two years i’ll be able to rent my own place. In some way your video’s made me more aware of money. Like i’ve always lived at home without having to budget. but when i live on my own, the first few years will be hard and a lot of saving. Your video’s actually make me excited to go on the hunt for cheaper options and like budget a little bit. And that’s sooo cool that your video’s have that inpact.
exactly! I hate when people think lowly of primark - the designs are good and the materials are the same as the clothes in other highstreet shops. Who doesn't love a bargain!
I feel u. I was always taught to be careful with money as a kid as my mum was a single mum who didn't have lots of money. My dad did have money and helped a lot with things we needed but even so he made us very aware of what things cost. This made me us grateful as we never went without but we always knew the value of money and now we are older and have our own places we never have money worryes as we were taught the skills we need to live life.
When I was a kid, I was one of two people who couldn’t go to school camp in year 6 because we both couldn’t afford it. We had to stay at school and make a project on Bangladesh and when the camp kids came back and did an assembly with the photos etc, me and the other girl had to stand to the side with our presentations 😂 but now I’m not broke and I SWEAR I spend so much money just because I CAN now! (Although now I’m trying to save more lol)
I feel you. I do. It's usually when I have mood to eat something or do something. Like shopping for groceries, I just buy what I think I'll be in the mood to eat/cook so not much. 3 vegs + fruits can last me for 2 weeks cuz I only eat when I'm at my hungriest. When I'm not, I'll be drinking water/tea. I have to be consistent with my spending routines on things that I really like but I can't have them all the time and that's how, I budget 😂 so I'll have fancy coffee / eat outs / garden stuff / etc once a month.
5:43 we don’t have such charges in the US so i was just wondering - how does the govt. or whoever controls that keep track of how much to charge you when you go out and drive? like what determines that price?
So, this is how I THINK they work anyway, I might have gotten a small detail wrong. Whenever you go into specific areas/zones in London there is a congestion charge, where you have to pay money to stay in that area. Basically it’s all to improve pollution cuz ppl won’t use their car as they wont want to pay. Anyway as u go into the zone a camera or some sort of machine picks up on your number plate and then later on in that day you must go on a website to pay the fee. I think u only have a day or two to pay it otherwise u get a fine
Taz, all I can say... I love you so much! Like, I am really grateful that there is someone out there... Who is just like me! You say something and I go,, no way, me too" or,, God, same! " I am so thankful you make these videos and inspire people! ❤️❤️

I'm so happy taz just uploaded because there's a thunderstorm and this is distracting me haha
Not gonna lie currently enjoying the lack of hot sunshine right now lol
Same, glad not to be boiling in sweat
I am so happy seeing taz grow . I feel like she's getting mentally better , I hope that she is I wish her all the best
MOON IS HERE WOHOOO
Taz and Moon are bestfriend goals
So grateful that TH-cam suggested your video to me months ago when I was in search of tips to living in London. I took a challenge of moving to London, away from family, friends and my comfort zone, to start a new job and to experience living on my own. Your story of growing up and knowing how to struggle financially was really relatable. Please keep on making these videos of pure fun, tips, challenges, and just about carrying on with life's challenges because it's going to be fine. Bless you ❤️
I just moved out and brought a car trying to balance all my money is hard at the moment ❤️ love watching all the videos x
the way i relate to taz` childhood so much and im 13 right now!! we love you taz and youre so so strong :) we are here for you and im so glad you seem to be happier now
Hi taz I have a good idea for a video you could go to expensive stores ( m&s/ Waitrose) and buy the cheapest items :)
Taz is literally the most real and relatable person on TH-cam💜
Moon is just a mum vibes like hard on mum vibes
I still live at home, but i hope that in two years i’ll be able to rent my own place. In some way your video’s made me more aware of money. Like i’ve always lived at home without having to budget. but when i live on my own, the first few years will be hard and a lot of saving. Your video’s actually make me excited to go on the hunt for cheaper options and like budget a little bit. And that’s sooo cool that your video’s have that inpact.

Taz: making everyone’s quarantine 1000 times better
Small youtuber here BTW
Life With Hibba no
I’m not subbing to you
She does make my quarantine better
Oh sorry
Life With Hibba it’s fine I’ll check your channel out but I don’t subscribe to people just because they ask for it unless I know them
Kiwi Panda oh umm.. thanks
TAZ you and your friend both look so BEAUTIFUL in your dresses!!!! and converse are a perf addition
Someone " i love your top!"
Me " thanks, £1 in primark sale 7 years ago". Absolutely no shame!!!
Girl 1st of all you got a top for £1! Also top fits you for 7 years and its still decent. Now thats a bargin😁
Primark clothes are great.
exactly! I hate when people think lowly of primark - the designs are good and the materials are the same as the clothes in other highstreet shops. Who doesn't love a bargain!
It’s so refreshing to see a TH-camr be vulnerable and not have a flashy lifestyle . Love you, Taz!
She is my role model and I should probably be like Taz cuz she loves being called "cheap queen". Such a kween we should protect 😤
if i don't have a friend like moon I don't want them , her reaction was sooooo pure !!
Taz: imagine living in a studio apt for months.
Me: *being stuck in my little room for 5 months*
The “plz know that u matter” at the end is everything 🥺💗
When she said she has a problem with making decisions I was like THAT'S EXACTLY ME
Same🤣
I love her sm she’s such an inspiration💕❤️ and she’s so funny 😂 she’s keeps me smiling😎❤️
Ikr! I recently started yt n she's one of the few people I look upto ❤
Moon is a whole MOOD I love her sm!!
Glad to see Moon, life’s been crazy. And I agree...
“Yessss this is what we want” lol thanks for sharing
Tax has been a life saver when it comes to keeping myself entertained.
Edit: I feel so dumb right now
Hello dear Red Velvet fan ^^

@@warriorxheart no I just like cake lol
Yas tax was a life saver totally agree with you
Tbh that dress looks amazing on taz, great choice moon!
Is it just me or I haven’t seen Moon in like FOREVER-
I feel you.
Am I the only Filipino citizen watching her videos?
Watching from Philippines. Love your videos taz !!❤❤
She is honestly such a vibe !

This is the video I've been waiting for. I already knew because I can relate but I wanted to hear you talk about it. I feel like no one talks about this since we who have grown up broke have learned to blend in.
