Anybody having trouble with this boss, go to Second Church of Marika, you'll get invaded and the invader will drop a crystal you can mix in your Flask of Wondrous physick, it gives you a shield that tanks his Nihil! Attack, all 3 rings will do nothing instead of making you bleed
You can just cheese him by going on the Tombstones right to his entrance and jump in to the Arena without using the Fogwall. He will not agro no matter what you do

From there just blast him with arrows or bolts and save yourself quite possibly the worst fight in the game.
Ah hell ye, and how these bosses truly forces you to switch up your playstyle at times. I'm just happy i was using a colossal swords jumping heavies all throughout the game so when all the earthquake attacks from you know who started getting spammed i destroyed him lol.

Yup. This is like Iudex/Champion Gundyr. Although what weirds me out is that Elemer in Caelid is like legit two times stronger than his true self in Altus Plateau. The Caelid Bell Bearing Knight holds the record for killing me consecutively at five. By comparison, Malenia only killed me once, and Malekith, Godfrey, Placidusax and most others literally zero. He's the toughest boss in Soulsborne in my opinion. Kinda dumb.

I think it’s cool that FromSoft finally has another straight up unabashedly evil character with Mohg. Most of the bosses in this game are morally ambiguous/questionable, like Malenia and Radahn, but Mohg is just pure evil. It’s refreshing honestly.

Well he isnt necessarily evil his story is kinda tragic So basically he wss born an omen and was banished to the sewers under the capital. Everyone saw him as a sign of bad luck and he was treated harshly with his brother morrgot.

I’ve learned very quickly the worst way to lose runes is to assume there’s an elevator waiting for you after you’ve respawned and headed towards the boss fight.. embarrassing amount of runes lost before I realized “I should probably get into the habit of resetting the damn elevator”
I feel like Bloodhound is one of those bosses that you beat at the start of the game and think it'll be way easier afterwards, but his moveset and speed is so erratic it always feels fresh. Unless you use a shield. In which case, cheese him.
First time around i got my ass handed to me by him (no surprises). After maybe an hour i got him. My second time around i went to his evergaol instantly and killed him in one attempt. It felt really good that i actually improved at the game. Awesome early boss.
Charlie is miles ahead of me in game while "backtracking" to the bosses I'm on. The amount of content is unreal and I guess I have much more to look forward to!
It almost feels never ending on your first play through. As always once you get your grounds and figure the layout out it become very easy to run through.

I really wish we could tell Malenia what happened to Miquella. Like, telling her what Mohg did causes her to become a summon (which would be broken as all hell) for his fight or something. I don't know, I guess doomed fates are a very common theme in Soulsborne, but for once I would have liked to give this story a resolution.

I feel like I would count all shardbearers as main bosses but there is a lot you can just skip over. Overall the unique bosses or fighting one of the reused bosses for the first time is amazing. I'm on new game 5 and I'm still loving it

Can we take a moment to appreciate the hit box in this game? During his attack he got hit once while standing, and the second holy disk missed because he was lower to the ground as he hit the ground. This game is So damn good
I legit have like 80gigs of space gathered on my Pro just from clipping good hitboxes already. Might make a compilation of it at some point. There's like five bad hitboxes I've encountered. 99% of them are just eyegasm level solid.
@@Skilow That's part of the reason why. Another is their speed, their incredible range, and their relatively high damage and great potential for weapon arts. Straight swords have horizontal slashes too, but aren't used in PvP at all. In fact it's interesting how straight swords, greatswords and curved swords have completely taken a backseat from where they were in DS3. I kinda miss them, especially greatswords. Once you got good with something like the Black Knight, Claymore, or Wolf Knight, it just felt incredible to use them both in PvE and PvP. Now they're too slow, and have far too little reach. It's like your character just doesn't put effort into his swings. In DS3 they were fluid, and your character stepped forward with each attack allowing you some sneaky hits.
I got here WAY earlier than I should have been. Like WAY earlier through Vare’s quest. I couldn’t do shit to him but also i didn’t want to leave. Eventually I kept getting him in his second phase and my +1 jellyfish wasn’t cutting it. So I summoned, thought at least distraction would be good. Both people I summoned started jumping on rocks and pointing to them. I thought there was an item or something. One of them made it up there and the other one and I were still jumping. Before long I realized boss’s health was going down like crazy. The other guy made it past too. I was just there. Entered the fog door and I see these guys just whacking at the boss with bleed without him moving. He started to move as soon as I entered and gained a little health back but by then it was too late. He was dead before I even got near him. I mean I was glad I got 300k runes and leveled me up insanely, but at the same time I felt cheated out of a win. But yeah. Apparently that’s an exploit

7:33 This boss was HARD to me at least. Getting used to the way the sword swung when Elmer was using the force on it was hard for me. I eventually got him and then repeats across the world werent that bad since I melted them after like 10-15 hits from Bloodhound Fang
27:50 tornadoes are mainly caused by a cycle of hot wind rising and colder wind falling, causing an air current. The current then accelerates until it forms a tornado. So in theory if there were any way to stop a tornado with a man made machine, it would be something to neutralize the air flow before the full tornado forms, most likely by using temperature.
I don’t feel bad for using summons cause it’s always me and my friends helping each other and we’re having a blast with this game. This is one of my friends first souls game and he thought he would hate it but it’s in his top 5 games now. For me it’s easily beating Skyrim as my favorite game of all time
Elemer's moveset upsets me greatly. You get his weapon and it is the single most disappointing weapon art in the game because of how cool the fight was. You get literally one move from his moveset and it is the worst one, not even a follow-up attack.

My boyfriend is a huge souls fan so I've heard about the games a lot these past four years. I've tried Dark Souls 3 once and never got past the first boss :,) but both of us absolutely love Elden Ring. Elden Ring makes me want to play the souls games when the games themselves didn't even make me want to play them 😂 it's just so damn good!!! Edit: I finally beat 'em! Took three tries and felt more confident because of the experience Elden Ring gave me
If you ever wanna try DS3 again a fire build is rly helpful against that first boss! I am shit at souls games but that was the way I got past that guy (only to die to a dragon in the next zone and not advance 🥴 lmao). His name, Iudex, also means 'judge' in latin and learning that made me want to prove to him/the game that I was good enough to continue lol. Idk if that's helpful but what I've played of ds3 is fun, I'm just ass at it. But if it's just the first guy, fire may help!
Omg. I remember starting ds3 years ago and getting to that first lothric knight. I could not get used to the fact you can't just wildly swing at any enemy like in every other game, and he woule punish so harshly that I just gave up on soulsbourne games. I tried again maybe a year or 2 later and beat it! And now Elden Ring too 😁 Amazing games. Worth the learning curve.

Malenia is poop. An attack that you can successfully dodge 70% of the time is poor design. On the plus side she's optional so I can just ignore her from now on or until that attack gets fixed
Dunno why you would want a boss that can lifesteal every hit she land on u, hit like a truck, and OHKO flurry. Sorry, but Dancer in DS3, Maria in Bloodborne and even Sister friede in DS3 is already pretty good.

Fun fact: there is very few non-optional bosses, practically non to the end game. You need 2 great runes to enter the capital but not 2 in especific, so godrick,rennala, radahn, mogh, etc are all technically optional. You will always need 4 bosses to enter the capital, radahn* is the shardbearer with no prior bosses + draconic tree sentinel. Other shardbearers need 1 boss prior.
Recently learned this from a random summon but you can actually just jump over the wall in mohg's arena and he doesn't activate so you can just go ham and kill him right away near the start of the game. Edit: they patched it because any unintentional fun is illegal
Yea but but that’s no fun. This boss has more items to make him easy than any other boss in the game. He has his own Margit style shackle, as well as there being a tear specifically put in the game to negate the bleed damage from him moving to stage two.
@@boundary2580 hey I'm just saying you can get an obscene amount of souls and his trident or spell really early. Plus it's a speedrun strat too. You get like 500k souls without bonuses if you kill him so if you go to mohg straight after godrick via varre's quest you can easily get probably like 20 levels at that stage of the game.

I feel like Godrick is a really good boss. For an early game boss hes quite hard especially for someone who is newer. He fucked me up quite a bit on my first play through. Sadly I already got to the point of shitting on most bosses at least early game

Neat little lore tidbit: Elemer's armor (which you can get from the Finger Reader) tells you that he and the Bell Bearing Hunter that occasionally invades you are in fact the same guy. He was basically invading your area to try and kill you.

When I first fought him I thought he was identical to sewer mohg because me and the mimic killed him before he could even do the nihil. When I found out that he had a phase 2 I was pretty bummed out that I missed it.
a tip for lots of free runes especially late game: Everytime I beat a big boss I immedietly eat a gold pickled fowl foot and quickly go into my inventory and swap the nearest talisman with the gold scarab. The window can be pretty tight sometimes but especially bosses who speak a line upon defeat take longer to grant their runes...that way Mogh gave me upwards of 620.000 runes and I didn't have to waste a precious talisman slot. But eat the fowl foot first as it takes a little until the buff gets applied and you can use the time it takes to eat it to go into your inventory and prepare the talisman swap...also it's kinda frustrating wasting a fowl foot by eating it just a second to late
cant wait for him to get to malenia because i was severely overlvled when i fought her, because i didnt go to her area until i beat the game, and she was still fucking two tapping me.
25:55 There was the idea of preemptively nuking potentially devastating hurricanes at some point but they realized it was a pretty dangerous idea and wouldn't actually be enough to stop the storm anyways.
Just in case anyone struggles with Mohg I had a really easy time with him just using hoarfrost stomp and mimic tear, that was before the hoarfrost nerf though

I struggled a bunch with Mohg and kept dying phase 2 but I had one run where I stun locked him with moonveil and he never activated phase 2 before bleeding to death and I was like 😑

10:46 I tried fighting this guy, got my ass kicked. Then when i decided to summon help the first person i summoned jumped over the wall, bypassing the fog gate and killed him while i was looking for more summon signs
I used the golden halberd from the tree sentinel and had a build that focused on just jumping attacks and stagger. I would just need to land 4-5 hits to stun him then get a crit off and then I’d already be in the 2nd phase. I also suggest getting the tear for the flask to make u immune to his bleed

Until you're on the horse and you can't dodge anything by jumping. Horse and yourself get 1 hit.

I think it’s cool that FromSoft finally has another straight up unabashedly evil character with Mohg. Most of the bosses in this game are morally ambiguous/questionable, like Malenia and Radahn, but Mohg is just pure evil. It’s refreshing honestly.

He IS evil though. He was ultimately a product of horrible circumstances and the manipulation of an Outer God, but he's still irredeemably evil. Morgott was born under identical circumstances and he never allowed himself to fall the way Mohg did.

I’ve learned very quickly the worst way to lose runes is to assume there’s an elevator waiting for you after you’ve respawned and headed towards the boss fight.. embarrassing amount of runes lost before I realized “I should probably get into the habit of resetting the damn elevator”

I feel like Bloodhound is one of those bosses that you beat at the start of the game and think it'll be way easier afterwards, but his moveset and speed is so erratic it always feels fresh. Unless you use a shield. In which case, cheese him.
First time around i got my ass handed to me by him (no surprises). After maybe an hour i got him. My second time around i went to his evergaol instantly and killed him in one attempt. It felt really good that i actually improved at the game. Awesome early boss.

It almost feels never ending on your first play through. As always once you get your grounds and figure the layout out it become very easy to run through.

I really wish we could tell Malenia what happened to Miquella. Like, telling her what Mohg did causes her to become a summon (which would be broken as all hell) for his fight or something. I don't know, I guess doomed fates are a very common theme in Soulsborne, but for once I would have liked to give this story a resolution.

Can we take a moment to appreciate the hit box in this game? During his attack he got hit once while standing, and the second holy disk missed because he was lower to the ground as he hit the ground. This game is So damn good
I legit have like 80gigs of space gathered on my Pro just from clipping good hitboxes already. Might make a compilation of it at some point. There's like five bad hitboxes I've encountered. 99% of them are just eyegasm level solid.
It's so accurate it's annoying, I used a halberd in pvp for a bit and the stabs would miss whenever anyone couched down.

@@Skilow That's part of the reason why. Another is their speed, their incredible range, and their relatively high damage and great potential for weapon arts. Straight swords have horizontal slashes too, but aren't used in PvP at all. In fact it's interesting how straight swords, greatswords and curved swords have completely taken a backseat from where they were in DS3. I kinda miss them, especially greatswords. Once you got good with something like the Black Knight, Claymore, or Wolf Knight, it just felt incredible to use them both in PvE and PvP. Now they're too slow, and have far too little reach. It's like your character just doesn't put effort into his swings. In DS3 they were fluid, and your character stepped forward with each attack allowing you some sneaky hits.
The nihil part is one of the cinematically coolest boss moments. Love this boss.
The more cocky he gets, the more trouble he gets into.
Another lesson this game teaches you.. stay humble.

I got here WAY earlier than I should have been. Like WAY earlier through Vare’s quest. I couldn’t do shit to him but also i didn’t want to leave. Eventually I kept getting him in his second phase and my +1 jellyfish wasn’t cutting it. So I summoned, thought at least distraction would be good. Both people I summoned started jumping on rocks and pointing to them. I thought there was an item or something. One of them made it up there and the other one and I were still jumping. Before long I realized boss’s health was going down like crazy. The other guy made it past too. I was just there. Entered the fog door and I see these guys just whacking at the boss with bleed without him moving. He started to move as soon as I entered and gained a little health back but by then it was too late. He was dead before I even got near him. I mean I was glad I got 300k runes and leveled me up insanely, but at the same time I felt cheated out of a win. But yeah. Apparently that’s an exploit
That really sucks, man. They cheated you out of that whole experience of a good fight...

This boss was HARD to me at least. Getting used to the way the sword swung when Elmer was using the force on it was hard for me. I eventually got him and then repeats across the world werent that bad since I melted them after like 10-15 hits from Bloodhound Fang
27:50 tornadoes are mainly caused by a cycle of hot wind rising and colder wind falling, causing an air current. The current then accelerates until it forms a tornado. So in theory if there were any way to stop a tornado with a man made machine, it would be something to neutralize the air flow before the full tornado forms, most likely by using temperature.
I don’t feel bad for using summons cause it’s always me and my friends helping each other and we’re having a blast with this game. This is one of my friends first souls game and he thought he would hate it but it’s in his top 5 games now. For me it’s easily beating Skyrim as my favorite game of all time

Elemer's moveset upsets me greatly. You get his weapon and it is the single most disappointing weapon art in the game because of how cool the fight was. You get literally one move from his moveset and it is the worst one, not even a follow-up attack.

Omg. I remember starting ds3 years ago and getting to that first lothric knight. I could not get used to the fact you can't just wildly swing at any enemy like in every other game, and he woule punish so harshly that I just gave up on soulsbourne games.
I tried again maybe a year or 2 later and beat it! And now Elden Ring too 😁 Amazing games. Worth the learning curve.

Fun fact: there is very few non-optional bosses, practically non to the end game. You need 2 great runes to enter the capital but not 2 in especific, so godrick,rennala, radahn, mogh, etc are all technically optional.
You will always need 4 bosses to enter the capital, radahn* is the shardbearer with no prior bosses + draconic tree sentinel. Other shardbearers need 1 boss prior.
rykard does have a prior boss, the godskin noble. unless theres a way to skip him that i didn't know about?

Recently learned this from a random summon but you can actually just jump over the wall in mohg's arena and he doesn't activate so you can just go ham and kill him right away near the start of the game.

Yea but but that’s no fun. This boss has more items to make him easy than any other boss in the game. He has his own Margit style shackle, as well as there being a tear specifically put in the game to negate the bleed damage from him moving to stage two.

@@boundary2580 hey I'm just saying you can get an obscene amount of souls and his trident or spell really early. Plus it's a speedrun strat too. You get like 500k souls without bonuses if you kill him so if you go to mohg straight after godrick via varre's quest you can easily get probably like 20 levels at that stage of the game.

I feel like Godrick is a really good boss. For an early game boss hes quite hard especially for someone who is newer. He fucked me up quite a bit on my first play through. Sadly I already got to the point of shitting on most bosses at least early game

Neat little lore tidbit: Elemer's armor (which you can get from the Finger Reader) tells you that he and the Bell Bearing Hunter that occasionally invades you are in fact the same guy. He was basically invading your area to try and kill you.

When I first fought him I thought he was identical to sewer mohg because me and the mimic killed him before he could even do the nihil. When I found out that he had a phase 2 I was pretty bummed out that I missed it.

a tip for lots of free runes especially late game: Everytime I beat a big boss I immedietly eat a gold pickled fowl foot and quickly go into my inventory and swap the nearest talisman with the gold scarab. The window can be pretty tight sometimes but especially bosses who speak a line upon defeat take longer to grant their runes...that way Mogh gave me upwards of 620.000 runes and I didn't have to waste a precious talisman slot.
But eat the fowl foot first as it takes a little until the buff gets applied and you can use the time it takes to eat it to go into your inventory and prepare the talisman swap...also it's kinda frustrating wasting a fowl foot by eating it just a second to late

You should try a double scythe build. Winged scythe and halo scythe with high str dex and faith fucks pretty hard. Lots of holy damage

Just in case anyone struggles with Mohg I had a really easy time with him just using hoarfrost stomp and mimic tear, that was before the hoarfrost nerf though

I used the golden halberd from the tree sentinel and had a build that focused on just jumping attacks and stagger. I would just need to land 4-5 hits to stun him then get a crit off and then I’d already be in the 2nd phase. I also suggest getting the tear for the flask to make u immune to his bleed
