      Yeah, I meant Kevin. The really tall one who only sang on like three of their biggest hits.

      He had a whole verse on "I Want it That Way", "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely", and "Drowning". Those are the only one I remember.

      To be honest, I kind of feel 30s is sort of the peak of life. You're still young enough that you're physically vital, but old enough that you've matured, developed confidence, and have professionally and personally advanced.

    • @jamesrawlins735
      @jamesrawlins735 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      They were formed in 93 (that was when Lou Pearlman held the open casting call) - their first songs were We've got it going on and I'll Never Break Your Heart (1995 - the same year that N'Sync was formed)

    • @Sarahluzbsb
      @Sarahluzbsb 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were formed in April 1993. They released promo tapes with the song 'Tell me that I'm dreaming' shortly after that. Their first official single was released in 1995, 'We've got it going on'. It took them a while to get a record deal. They were touring public schools from 1993-1995. 1995-1997 they became popular in Europe. They didn't get popular in the US until 1997. 'Quit playing games' was their first popular US single.

      Arikel
      Let's see, and I hope I got these right- Nick, Brian, Kevin, A.J. and Howie D. right? I remember all of the New Kids on the Block, that's for sure. Weird how I remember their names better than BSB- Danny, Jordon, Jonathon, Donnie, and Joey.
      I actually saw that big NKOTBSB concert when it came to my nearest city and it was kind of funny watching me and a bunch of 30 and 40 somethings acting like teens haha. You know A.J. is coming to one of my local cons (Alamo City Comic Con), but I won't be able to go! It stinks!

    Apart from that Sisqo guy (never heard of him before) I sang along so fucking hard. 90s music sucks, but in a good way. Not like 00s music, that just sucks.

      it sucked, but it was so innocent and these songs didn't take themselves seriously. they were FUN! i'm not sure how.. maybe i'm just brainwashed from being a 90s child, but they were catchy dancey fun and innocent and i miss being able to enjoy that feeling without intense critical thinking..

      "90's music sucks, but in a good way"
      That is the perfect way to put it. I have a nostalgia playlist on my iPod that's loaded with beautiful 90's garbage. Yeah, it's garbage, but it's such upbeat, wonderful garbage.

      @FunSizeSpamberguesa 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Nadia Mohamed True. Can you imagine if someone tried to get Anaconda made in the 90's? It was a lot more innocent than the crap that gets churned out these days.

    I had a summer of Backstreet Boys obsession. Literally two months. I was 13. Also, Lolsybyrne's moves to the "Thong Song"...oh bless her. Too funny. Hahaha. Only "Back that Ass Up" rivals the "Thong Song".

    "Barbie Girl" is not particularly problematic: it is meant to be an ironic parody.

    • @FunSizeSpamberguesa
      @FunSizeSpamberguesa 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I think they mean it's problematic in that a lot of little girls were all over it, not realizing how sexual the lyrics were.

      To be fair, some of what I thought the lyrics were are a bit worse. Like instead of "You're my doll, rock'n'roll, feel the glamor in pink," kid me thought it was "glamor and pain."
      Actually, I wonder if this song influenced me.... hmm...

    • @iboarshock7059

    For the record, BSB never "made a comeback." They took a short hiatus in the early 2000s while still being a group before getting back in the studio and making another album. They've always been here, touring, making albums.

    When I was a kid I thought people in Sweden had accents the way Aqua sang. I didn't fully grasp how languages and accents worked, and I thought that they had to sound like that in English coming from Swedish for some reason. Also, I know they are Danish, but I think I thought of Norway and Denmark as regions of Sweden at that time, for some reason. So, until I was like 10 probably, I thought Swedes (which includes Danes, Norwegians) sounded all high pitched and weird when they spoke English.
