Hello Ms. Julie 😊 the people at my work have gotten used to me asking “Do you have plans for that?” They even come & ask me if I want things now lol!
My husband hands me all of his envelopes and junk mail now instead of putting it in the burn bin. Lol
I’ve moved the office recycling bin closer to my desk, so I can keep a closer eye on what’s going into the bin 🤣🤣
@@molliesmomma That’s fantastic lolol!!
My friends will text me and ask if I want something before they toss it or give it to the thrift store 😂
I was at a scrapbook retreat and became known as the dumpster diver cause I would get packaging out of the trash to make a junk journal.
"Getting it used, stop hoarding it, woman!" Thank you!😂 a reminder I always need. My craft stash keep growing because things are so pretty I save them and get new stuff and the catch 22 is going. 😂
Yup, i know the routine😅😁🤗💜
Great ideas! I also like to use pages from adult coloring books.
Me too! I’m so happy to hear a crafty-pal finds coloring pages useful.
That's going on the list Pat, great idea thanks love 😁🤗💜
Fantastic list! I love your spirit. The Amazon paper is lovely for decoupaging napkins onto as well. I enjoy all the crinkly sounds!
I really hope you do a series on using up your ephemera. I have oodles that I’ve made stashed in boxes under my bed and I really want to get it put into journals. It sounds easy but I feel overwhelmed when I look at it. I would love to hear your thoughts and strategies for this process.
You've just described where i am at the moment love. My plan is to make up a bunch of journals and fill them with all my premade stuff, then set about making the things i need to finish them. I'm not and never have been a make one journal and stick at it until it's finished kind of person. So hopefully it will sort itself out😁🤗💜
@@CameliaCraftsDesigns I can’t wait to follow along and do the same!
"It succumbed to a cup of cappuccino"😂 that really gave me a giggle.
I was amazed at what I found that can be used in a junk journal. The problem I have is putting it together so it looks interesting, like the signature you just created, and not a pile of garbage. Seriously, I just don't have the artist gene in me. I have friends who can take a mixture of flowers and make a beautiful arrangement. I can't even repeat what they made using the same pieces. I have a ton of old Workbasket magazines that go back to the 50's, computer paper, both unused & with programs written on it. They are some of the programs that I created over 20 years ago. I have a ton of complete sewing patterns that I will never make. Plus I've found so many of the papers and other interesting items at resale shops. My friend gave me two books of wall paper samples. I don't know how to use the items in a journal! I've mostly been making kits that I've downloaded the digitals for. I wish that I knew someone in my area who does junk journals. There are not any scrapbooking shops around here anymore either.
You really can put anything in a junk journal. It sounds to me like you are being very hard on yourself. I'm also a disaster at flower arrangements, i keet chopping off stalk until i have none left😐 Just go for at and fold up some paper, you can always move them about when the fancy takes you☺️🤗💜
The Amazon paper: I like to use it under things to catch extra paint, ink, whatever. Then it makes beautiful journal pages or collage fodder. The possibilities are limitless.
Just what I was looking for,..thank you!!! 💚👍.
*Edit
You are hilarious!
“It use to be on my wall, now it’s behind my desk, meh”.
‘It use to be 2 pound, now it’s 12, shocker!”😂😂😂
Thanks lovely😅😂🤗💜
That is going to be a Kitchen Sink! As In Everything But! ❤❤❤
😁🤗💜
Another great video from you, Julie. Thank you. That's my mantra for this year is to declutter or use it up. Scrapbooker and card maker in the past so you can imagine the size of the collection of cardstock and scrapbook paper I have. Lol. I need to stop opening the boxes I've had it all stored in for years and using bits and pieces out of the boxes. And get my craft room organised so that I'm not playing the game Twister to get to my desk. 😂
i know that feeling Julie. My craft stash was boxed up at mu mums for years when i had the girls and i still have boxes i haven't opened and they're 17 now😐🤗💜
Hi Julie. It's so good to see you back. I really missed you. Hope you're keeping well now. 💖 It's funny I've just been going through all my stash of stuff and sorting it all out . I've collected lots of supplies from Op shops .I don't know if you have flash cards in your schools but they have the alphabet letters printed on them. They make fabulous tags when covered with paper. Anyway stay well as we need to see and hear from you. Val.🐨 💟
Hi Valerie, thanks love. We do have the flash cards and yes i have some stashed😐. I'm all about using my stash this year as i basically don't have room for any more ☺️🤗💜
I come from an era when encyclopaedias were bought to fill a book shelf! No one read them but they were there! These books are now in my possession! They are old and so I have started to gut them! The main casing is a sturdy cover for a journal. I love tea stained paper and have filled this years journal with patterned paper and tea stained paper. I don't write in a journal but love to record special days with photos, parking tickets/receipts etc. I flick through my recorded journals to get me through the boring days, it makes me appreciate that not all days are bad days!
That’s a great variety of resources…gets the mind thinking 😊
It's always good to review especially when I am forgetful lol 😂 ❤
Thanks for the inspiration, Julie 🥰
I found so many kinds of paper in my house, which is what got me to start junk journaling. thank you for sharing.
Hi Julie from Las Vegas, NV USA! Just love you & your videos. Was watching one last night where you were doing something en mass & then you said, Welcome back to all of you who fast forwarded" to this point. Cracked me up. This was a great video! Nicely done.
Thank you so much love ☺️ i get lost in the faffing sometimes, but it's all good fun🤗💜
Old report cards from school, and pages from a vintage cook book.

Glad your feeling better! Thank you for all these ideas for a junk journal.
Very informative video; thanks for the list of potential journal page candidates! 🙂
Thanks so much , you're welcome love 😊🤗💜
Thank you 😊I have one word to describe you and that is AWESOME! I love all your videos. I don’t comment much because I’ve got so much going on in my life but I manage to at least watch them and I learn a lot.❤
Thank you so much Donna, i know the feeling, i.m exactly the same☺️🤗💜
Thanks for the list, I needed something to guide me. That was exhausting just watching you putting everything together... LOL, but I enjoyed it to. Stay well and safe. 🤗
I started gathering stuff over a week ago Keren and i'd forgotten half of what i'd added, proving i need a list. Glad you enjoyed it love☺️🤗💜
Hi Julie, I am so happy that you are better. I missed you. ❤
Thank you so much Sonja love ☺️🤗💜
Ah Julie wonderful inspiration, really great and so good to have you back , glad you’re feeling better 👍💚💚💚
Thank you so much Eileen☺️🤗💜
So many great ideas of what all can be put into a junk journal. I'm working on one right now so this video has come in handy.
Terrific idea for beginners and seasoned journallers alike. I always enjoy spending an hour or so with you. Thanks Julie :)
I cannot wait to see you work through your stash! I absolutely need to do the same. I typically shop at the thrift stores once a week, and I have collected some absolutely awesome stuff. The thing is, it’s not supposed to be a collection 😂 I need to USE it!!! Hopefully I can follow along with you and work through my ever-growing stash🤞
I think maybe you're a hoarder like me love😘 i know exactly what you mean. It's crunch time for me, my craft room and my overflow wardrobe are ful to the brim, i need to use more and buy less and that's what i'm all about this year.
Good luck doing the same love☺️🤗💜
I love your idea of one of items from this list & other items I may have as a junk journal challenge. Great ideas & great video. I need to stop hoarding & actually USE from my stash!
Preaching to the choir eileen, thanks lovely😁🤗💜
Here in Brazil the botanical books even the older ones are expensive too. Anorher video that a beginers like me love ❤❤❤❤ thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much love, really glad you enjoyed it ☺️🤗💜
Hi Julie! I am a new follower and I am loving your channel. Thank you for sharing your ideas and finds. Blessings to you~ Violet
Thank you so much Violet and welcome to the channel love 😊🤗💜
That packaging paper your cat likes is great for weaving ribbon etc through. Looks great in a journal. Thank you for your lovely videos.
Great idea, thank you so much, i fancy giving that a try😊🤗💜
Great reminder of all our options!
Always enjoyable!
Thank you so much love ☺️🤗💜
Hi Julie, Glad you’re feeling better. It was fun to watch you go through some of your stash!
Thank you so much Elizabeth☺️🤗💜
What beautiful freebies thanks you list should be helpful❤
You’re welcome 😊
Lover this video. I looked through my stars a few weeks ago and you are right...I had things I forgot I had. So I went shopping in my stash..🤣 thanks for sharing...🤗🤗🤗🤗💙
Thanks Paulette, my kitchen cupboards get the same, full of stuff i have no memory of buying😅😁🤗💜
Thank you! Love all of these ideas!! You’re amazing!!
If you lived in the US, I would send you so much happy mail! I collect so much of that stuff and run out of room to store it and I could never make enough journals to use it all up.
Thank you for doing this, so many great ideas ❤
Glad you are feeling better, this reminded me to keep digging in my stash cause I have bought a lot of paper at thrift shops
Our houses must be fire hazards with all our kindling😘🤗💜
Julie this is a brilliant topic. Even seasoned journalism need a refresh. I am of the same mindset this year, I have too much stuff and need to use it up. You could do a video on 50 ways to use all the packaging you are likely to get from Amazon alone. I know I have a pile. In the US crepe paper is usually sold as party streamers. Thanks for the dye tip, i never knew. "I pinch off her now" LOL my eldest son was a culinary student before he joined the navy as an airplane mech, i pinched his knives!
Another thing i use the packaging for is Nala, she loves to play in a big box full of scrunched up paper. She loves to play with scrunched up balls of paper too😁🤗💜
@CameliaCraftsDesigns good idea. I have 3 Tiamat, Danynerius and Tinkerbell they would ❤️ it!
Thay are fabulous names😺🤗💜
Hello my friend!
Sugar paper has its name from being used to make sugar bags and confections papers from the 17 th century.
I also got a huge ledger book from e bay it’s a record of grain sold but it’s huge I think I could make 2 double pages from one page. It is bound with steel clips.
I think the idea of putting mass made signatures together is a fab idea it would save a lot of time. A lot of time is wasted looking through all the paper categories to compile a signature each time but if you have a stock of generic ones ready that great. Thanks for that idea. It will also consolidate all my paper sources that are everywhere except where they should be!
Oh gosh I remember the paper shop I used to get the hammer card there real cheap.
Thank you so much Penny, i never knew that about sugar paper😁
I miss the papermill shop. used to drive to the ones in York and Mansfield, fill the car, i mean put the back seats down and fill it front to back and top to bottom, then chop it and make into card blanks to sell on ebay. 'tis why i have so much card now😐🤗💜
Hi Julie glad you're feeling better, I saw someone sticking all the strips of paper on to cards even old cards, and they look lovely so that's what I've been doing to use up my scraps i have so many 😁😁
Great list! Thank you! Hugs❤
Cheers Missus 😊🤗💜
Thank you for all your great ideas
Thanks for the useful information.
Thanks Theresa, you're welcome love 😊🤗💜
So happy to see you back. Happy new year 🎉
Thanks lovely, Happy New Year to you too☺️🤗💜
Love this Julie. You were talking about not hoarding this year. Gayle Ago shine lol said her word for this year is "unhoarding." Works for me!!!
So much fun ❤❤❤
Thanks Michelle love☺️🤗💜
Thank you this was very helpful, starting on my first ever junk journal👍🏻
Hi Thank you so much love☺️you're going to have alot of fun🤗💜
Great list Julie, thanks for the ideas and the demonstration.
You are so welcome Susan☺️🤗💜
Oh, I was waiting for your green painters paper! I love when you use that! I still have to go to a paint store and see if they have any.
Thanks for the time this surely took to gather all the examples for this video 💚💙
Hi Julie, Thank for the list of things to use as pages. Sometime we have so much stuff that it’s easy to forget about all the things we could use. Glad you are feeling better.
Hi Carol, spot on love. Another lady just mentioned she uses painters paper and i was like....oooo yes i have that😐 Thank you so much love☺️🤗💜
Oh 😍 love it😍 lots of love from arctic Norrway 🙌🌹🌼🌷🌻
Thanks lovely Lena☺️🤗💜
Hi Julie, Happy New Year. What an excellent and informative video. Who knew you could use all those items for junk journals. I have been pledging/attempting/challenging myself to do the same....use up your stash WOMEN!!! I will be following along to watch your progress.
Happy new year Sally, thankslove ☺️🤗💜
I am so happy to see you back and feeling better! l love all of these are wonderful ideas. I have some of these papers, cards, pattens and maps and I have never thought to use them in my journals. Thank you! ❤😊
Thank you so much Shelia love ☺️ if it doesn't move it's going in a junk journal this year😁🤗💜
This video just popped up on my feed. Wow you did some work to pull all this together. I have been making journals for a few years now but really enjoyed this video, thank you. New stuff, forgotten stuff, some not known in Australia. Wow got the juices going!!!
I have way too much stuff I can use for junk journals, but I still keep finding more. Lol ! I like to use old calandar pictures and small mylar balloons. So good to see you, Julie. Thanks for sharing. 🙂❤️
Love the baloon idea Shirley, thanks lovely😁🤗💜
Here in the US, I've never seen sheets of crepe paper, but the streamers people use to decorate for parties are made of crepe. Limited use in journals, but you might be able to dye with it. There always seems to be some left over. 🤗
You can also add wine bottle labels, I love using them.
Great idea, you can tell i don't often drink wine can't you😁😊🤗💜
I use my Yellow Pages book (found in my basement!! Oh dear!! Am I a hoarder??) and I use it for a glue book!
I need to start mass making my journals as well. My stash is more like a dragons hoard. 😂
The struggle is real😁🤗💜
Loved this list!
Oooh!! I’m loving this!❤
Thank you!
😁🤗💜
I bet your list is even longer now that this has posted and your brain is still coming up with things! I saved all my calendars because they have parts I can use. You mentioned puzzle book pages, but I didn't hear coloring book pages? And a thing I like to do is stop into book shops and grab the postcards and bookmarks they have for new books coming out. Lots of neat artwork on those. Also, wherever there's a community center area in a shopping center, they usually have free magazines/catalogs/flyers in foreign languages which are great.
Yes it is still growing and that you so much for reminding me i have colouring books😐it's now on the list😁🤗💜
You have given so many ideas!! And made me cry for all the junk I've thrown away!!! Thank you!!!!! I LOVE that tiny clear bag with little flowers...
Thanks love🤗 don't even go there with what we've thrown away I know the feeling well😮😁💜🤗
Great video, Julie! When I started junk journaling, I "shopped my house" and was amazed at how much of this stuff I already had. Of course, being a teacher for 30 years helped build up my stash! LOL! Everything I go to throw out now gets a second look - is it junk journal material? ❤ Happy you're feeling better - I needed some of your waffling.
Thanks Lorna love😁 my youngest plans on going into teaching, i will have her scouring the school bins😘🤗💜
Lots of good ideas. Crepe paper here in US in in streamer form...2 inch wide and in a roll.
I always remember (about 50-something years ago) there was a printers in our village and they would give me off-cuts for drawing paper !
This is one amazing and very helpful video! I enjoyed all 1hour and 6 minutes!! Glad you are feeling better!! Sharing this as it is awesome!!!❤❤
Thanks Donna love. Who knew i could talk about pper for that long😁🤗💜
Great vid, Julie 👍💕💕 Always love. listening to you ... appreciate all that you share 💕💕 The ocd side of me loves the list 🥰 Thank you for putting it on your KoFi 🌷😊 I have most of what you listed... even the old computer paper...the continuous stuff with holes on the side... picked a whole box of it up at an estate sale for a whopping $2... Squeal 😜 My next search will be for an old attendance book... I love the hunt 😜😂 Blessings~~~
Thank you for sharing! Can't wait to incorporate these into my journals!
Oh and as an aside.....we sometimes call crepe paper - "Streamers" as we use then for party decorations and they usually come on a roll that is about two inches in width.
thanks lovely, i'm making a list of all these things i didn't think of😁🤗💜
GREAT ideas!!!!!
Hello Julie, I have missed you. I hope your holiday was a good one. Thank you for the ideas!
Thanks lovely 😊🤗💜
I love all your videos! I watch them all the time, I love to hear you talk. Been missing all your new videos, sad to hear you haven't been feeling that well. Do you have any pictures of yourself on here? Don't call me weird but I've just been wondering what you look like. You sound so sweet. Keep up the beautiful work!!
Today I experimented with Tim Holtz distress spray inks. Linen, Walnut and another light one - gave me lavender. I was quite surprised at the result!
This was absolutely fabulous and inspiring. I have most of what you showed. Great ideas. TFS😅❤. Such a brillant idea for folding pages butting up to score board. I'll never be the same aha moment 😂 i got a box of resume paper at goodwill its beautiful paper. I don't think people send resumes snail mail anymore...sad😢
Thanks Suzy love, it's the little things isn't it. Back in the day i used that scoreboard for mass making greeting card blanks to sell on ebay 😊🤗💜
Thanks for this!
I’ve been going through my stash and organizing into categories and pitching the items that I will never use or that come into the house regularly so I don’t need to hoard.
I'm just working on trying to be a little more discerning myself, but it's all so yummy Elise😘🤗💜
Love the ideas!!!
Fantastic way to clear out all the papers. Thanks so much for the inspiration and all the ideas. So happy you are feeling better. Stay well and see you next time.
Thanks, you're very welcome love 😁🤗💜
So many paper possibilities for signatures, never thought of quite a few of them💙
The trouble is i can never think of them at the time i want to use them, i was adding to the list for 2 weeks, glad you enjoyed it Denise love🤗💜
This is awesome - what a great resource! Thank you for taking the time to put together this list for those of us who are beginners or perpetual beginners like me. I only make journals occasionally so this type of video is just what I need. I will download your list and print for reference, thank you! Love you and your channel!
Thank you Julie some good ideas and information Happy New Year to ya 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Nadine love, happy new year to you too love 😊🤗💜
Thank you for another great video!
Thanks for watching love😁🤗💜
Nice list of items Julie!
I print on piano paper and then iron some wax on it, makes it look like vellum and the print doesn't smudge, I have an inkjet printer. The same goes for wrapping paper, I tried it on some before Christmas, was working on a Christmas journal, it's best if it has a lot of lighter areas.
We still get phone directories, actually just got one in the mail a few days ago, yep, went right to the craft room, lol. 💜💜💜
Thanks for all your information!! I have a goal to really make a journal this year!! I always follow you and your colleagues but now it is time to really make one!!
Thank you for such a wonderful video full of ideas. I'm glad you are feeling better. We do get those pamphlets with our medications here in the US. I think it's a waste of time after your first prescription.
Thanks Kim, i totally sgree about the pamphlets and the boxes and the little plastic and foil popper packets. there is just too much junk around to reuse these days☺️🤗💜
Oh, my goodness! A whole magazine devoted to The Diary of An Edwardian Lady! I am going to have to look that up!!!
Great tips. Just for info, cartridge paper is used for blotting/drying ink when using a fountain pan, but yes it is great for a journal page
