Thank you brother for video. This is important to me. Because as a long time sporadic guitar player. I hold the pick like you do. Just between my fingers. Because it feels better & more natural for me. I've tried the other way but it just doesn't feel right. Tho I still have trouble with the pick turning when strumming. Guess I have to hold the pick a little bit tighter. Appreciate your input. And videos.
try different thickness and materials. I like wegen picks they have wholes in them for grip so they don't turn while strumming. I also like Taylor thermex picks the material grips real well. Thanks for watching.
The best way in my opinion to hold it is a mix between your old way and this new way. Look at players like Anton Oparin, Al di Meola, etc.. You should not curl up your index finger that much as you did with your old way, but more then your new way. Thumb should be almost straight or a bit curled inwards not outwards. But, someone like Benson does it different and has a good result with it. But, you should check out Anton Oparin. This guy has the best alternate picking technique and holds the pick like i discribed.

I LIKE TO USE LITTLE BIT OF INNER SKIN OF INDEX WHICH GIVES ME FLEXIBILITY AND SOURROUNDING FEEL.
Interesting.
