The first step to establishing peace solutions begins with the exchange of ideas, thoughts, or dialogue in an amicable atmosphere, giving a valuable and practical solution to immature people too. I fully appreciate both participants' efforts to enlighten the minds of people with good will. Keep up the good work in maintaining brotherhood in Goa, proving the Goans are truly peace-loving people.
When I first listened to Velingkar I felt Catholic Church for having was wrong and felt like calling some priests asking them to withdraw from this place. But when Radharao spoke with facts and proving the ownership of the land, I felt Velingkar is either ill informed or knowingly igniting fire like RSS is doing all over India. Sorry Mr Velingkar we Goans, either Hindus, Muslims or Christians will never allow RSS ideology to take roots in Goa and destroy our peace. If I am wrong ask your son Dr Amey, how well we all respect him at Gogol as one full family. God bless our wisdom.

Its a great honor St Joseph Vaz, a Goan is declared a Saint, it has never happened before, and as Saint he is honored and respected in entre Christendom and it is forever. And it is a cause to celebrate for every Goan whether Hindu ,Christians and hopefully, Goa Govt recognizes this immense honor to our native Son of Goa and extends all the help in building a fine Church or Basilica in honor of our native son, who has won us respect and honor and cast aside these petty disputes..

Today I m catholic. But my ancestors were Hindus. If my ancestors at one point got converted and changed temple into a church and if l m happy with my present religion who is someone to dictate terms to me and asking me to go back to old system .

@@rajmandrekar9166You're talking about Novas Conquistas following the Pombaline reforms. In the Velhas Conquistas, over 90% of Goans became Catholic and the Brahmins who wanted to remain Hindu had to leave over 100 villages.

Adults should ask youngsters to watch this to learn how healthy knowledgeable debates take place. This is the opposite to some undesirable individuals mushrooming in present time who suddenly go on camera calling it “exposures” to extort money.
Subash Velinkar came with full blooded vengeance but is deflated beyond recovery. The whole matter is described & reasoned out skilfully & craftily. Watch & re-watch how Adv Radharao explains the legality, the facts & the logic that the actual custodians of Hindu temples are not setting claim to this religious site but someone who is not even permitted by their own community to interfere is raking up the issue when he has nothing to do with its ownership & management.
Radharao also puts to rest the myth that Portuguese built Churches when it was the communities who did it upon mass conversions. And upon being converted, got rid of their past, including the remains of their old faith. How the new law of 1991 puts to rest & does not permit digging up of past like this one.
Finally it’s heartening to see how Subash Velinkar submits to Radharao that Radharao has come well prepared with facts & figures. No, Goans are gullible people who believe every migrant's fake sob story and bend over backwards for every outgroup. It's why Goa is the only state where migrants outnumber natives, and the native Catholic majority (over 80% of ethnic Goans are Catholic) is now a minority in its own native land.

The majority of Goans who left Hinduism were also not Bamonns for the simple reason that the majority of Goans weren't Bamonns (Bamonns were, and still are, less than 5% of the population).

These 2 Gentlemen are to be commended for the respectful peaceful debate. I wish Radharao and Velingkar would meet outside of debate to discuss Goa's history. Some of the books are written in Marathi and I presume Velingkar must have read them. Nothing like a good collaboration of ideas. After all whether Hindu or Catholic we share common DNA. For a Catholic, love is the crux of our religion and it underpins everything. Why fight and try to humiliate each other? It is unworthy of Catholics. The Portuguese in their early conquests had full control of the spice trade that they used to build their empire and churches. Much later came the other European countries to whom they lost much territory and trade. And hence could not maintain all that they had built. So many churches fell to ruin as there was simply no money to maintain them. Please read 'An Historical and Archaeological sketch of the City of Goa' by José da Fonseca
Also later on the Portuguese state became hostile towards to Church, many missionaries and religious orders like the Agustinians were shipped back to Europe and they took away the roofs of many monasteries and churches so that they would be ruined. That's how St. Agustine and Chimbel Monastery are today ruined.
Freemason Pombal first expelled the Jesuits, the deliberate mismanagement by the government that followed led to the institutions the Jesuits had created being closed and turned to ruins. Similar for the other Catholic religious orders following the Liberal takeover in the 1800s.

I want to ask this velingkar,since he is talking about history of goa, if he says that he is a goan then he is a gaunkar of which village of goa? Because before Portuguese rule started in goa there were only gaunkars staying in goa an all temples of goa were built by gaunkars an non gaunkars who our ancestors referred them as ghatis had no right to enter those temples forget about building a temple.
Velingkar is not a gaonkar, but from kollvont community (his origin is Brahmin men exploiting Hindu widows and making the resulting offspring into hookers and temple servants).

Why you did not protest when the Bunglow was built in Old Goa in the St. Francis Xavier protected area. You should have made sure it was demolished if you were so concerned.
