Thank you for another impeccably produced review; I have really missed them! Now I have to go in search of cheese, sausages and crusty bread. Please excuse me.
Normaly I‘m not into these painted and decorated handles, but These got me. And because I can‘t decide which one I‘d prefer, I kinda see where it will end… 🤷♂️😉 Nice Video as always, thanks, Stefan
Vielen Dank für die Vorstellung dieser hochinteressanten Modelle! Das Casse-Croûte war aber auch wieder sehr schön anzusehen. Deine Videos sind sehr wirksam gegen Appetitlosigkeit!
I'm pretty sure the blade of the "sea" themed one is modeled after the london, not the Langres. (They are extremely similar but the Langres is very much a down to earth knife where the London is a traditional sailor's knife from Bretagne)
The carbon steel blades on the regular Douk Douks are very good though I'm not averse to a little N690c. They've done a good job on these knives and I must admit I'd quite like a knife handle with sea monsters on.
Hello Stefan, Awesome video as usual. Always nice to see a compatriot (though i'm Austrian) making great content for the knife-community. I wanted to ask if you consider making a tour of your collection. Would be really interesting to see all the knives you own.
Very nice. Hi from South west France. The only thing I don't like on those knives is the word ''Sons'' written in too big letters that draw too much attention. As far as I'm concerned, those ''japanese'' and ''navy'' douk douk are much more beautiful than the ''original'' Douk douk.
Herzlichen Dank.
Man muss halt etwas fahren. Deine Präsentation ist einzigartig und immer wieder schön anzusehen. Herzlichen Dank dafür.
i like them a lot, i use my Douk-douks and l’Écureuil frequently . One thing i'm not a fan with this Sons is the mandatory leather pouch , the knife is so thin that I don't see the point, i'd also like to save a few €.
The original and current occupants of Spain and Portugal are the original Christian (and Jewish) Spanish and Portuguese, the Medieval Moors were only temporary, culturally foreign, Imperialist invaders from overseas. They were the military and cultural "occupiers" with no legitimate claim of ownership nor governance.
@@StefanSchmalhaus I should apologize, my inner pedant got triggered and I didn't stop myself. As always, your videos are informative and beautifully produced.
Traumhafte Videos. Es wäre noch eine super Ergänzung wenn du dazu erwähnen würdest ob teflon oder Phosphor bronze washers oder z.B IBKS verbaut ist. (im meine Grundsätzlich - nicht dieses Video im speziellen)
@@StefanSchmalhaus Indeed though I believe there were equal numbers of meats. HA. Appreciate your reviews. I now own about 20 of the knives you reviewed and let the knife makers know. Interesting knives and a compelling vid. Thank you. Did you find the thick blade stock was making them struggle a little as slicers? It looked like they were on the verge of failing on the softish cheese.
@@StefanSchmalhaus I'd hoped you'd comment on the blades, rather than soft cheese. But in answer to your comment on cheese, and in my experience, I'd disagree. You simply need to use a thin blade.

I always thought the douk-douk was a knife for a sailor. One that landed and decided to stay in Africa. Being the time period I would have to say that Sailor is a man. Hence he is a father.
Please, for god's sake do some research on African history, especially on the Algerian War (1954-1962). The Douk-Douk was an assassination weapon back then.
@@StefanSchmalhaus Yup, I learned that when I researched it years ago. I just do not like talking about combat, and knives because of political reasons.
@@StefanSchmalhaus no, no. It is okay for people to not know the history I meant. They dont have to. They do not have a channel making videos about history of knives, you do.

Thank you! I like the term "calm serenity". I always hope that my videos radiate a mood of reflection and calm.

Hello old friend, Nice to here from you again! Many of the knives in my collection are a direct result of your hard work, thank-you.

Love the new blade shapes, but the handle could also be with a normal one color design. Good to see your new video.

It's been quite a while since I've bought a knife and these Sons of Douk-Douk got a hook in me. I'm leaning towards the Japanese themed one.
It's an interesting kind of crossover between the Douk-Douk and the Higonokami.
Great video. Because of you I found my perfect pocket knife (Perceval L8). I use it since 2014 and it has aged beautifully.
Thank you very much! The L08 is one of my favorite knives, too.
