Lexus and Toyota, Honda and Mazda showed the world what a technological powerhouse they are.... . Unbelievable, impressive, new production methods, giga casting Ai design, new batteries, new range of cars. And CONFIDENCE!
David Chao... 😊 ...you're a gentleman who's generous sharing of experience, wisdom, and enthusiasm (combined with humilty)... ....does us Canadians proud. Your work is noted. Keep it up! 👍🏾🙏🏾👊🏾 🇨🇦
Woahhhhh. Toyota and lexus are creating some incredible cars. I'm.a loyal Toyota buyer. I have the 2022 Toyota rav4 hybrid. Wat an amazing car it is. Thanks to both of use cars, for the superb coverage. Excellent works guys. I'm in the North of Ireland 🇮🇪..
Really enjoy watching the two. There is a certain charm watching the generational dynamics and a shared enthusiasm for cars between them. I like it! I like the car too! Currently have a Tesla Model 3, but what I'm seeing at the Tokyo auto show looks really promising!
This is why I'll be picking up a lease returned BZ4X in a few years, the next generation batteries will make everything today look like 1920's technology!
Amazing, I don't like the busy side on the door tho. The hear end is the best part IMO. And I absolutely love the new steering area with the dual screens, very jet fighter like looks.
They will not tone down....tgey know that they have to compete with the Chinese.....extravert styling is key..... . The RZ is a sales failure of epic proportions for Lexus, they know nowxthat they have to deliver in 2026.....a class leading, futuristic quality bev...and they will.
I would recommend that you have David Chao stay more in the background. He was always covering up the camera's view of the Car itself. So we saw more of David, which I'm sure he liked but we didn't see much of the car which was the point of this Preview. The other thing is David should keep a lid on it till you explained what your trying to describe, then David can add his comments. Remember this is the Kirk Kreifels TH-cam channel not the David Chao channel. I'm not saying he didn't add any value with some of his comments, but I wasn't i for an Origami Lesson about Japanese culture. Kirk really enjoyed your part of the coverage. It seemed more pertinent and focused towards the American Markets interest when viewing new concepts or new cars in general.
I'm watching both channels now, thank you. Styling approach is complete opposite of Mazda's smooth as water shape. It's the ultimate angular version of, say, a Polestar and that's okay too. I wonder which approach is more aerodynamically efficient? Even acknowledging this car as a concept that needs to be festooned with gadgets I can't help feeling uncomfortable with Toyota's juxtaposing the sustainability of woven bamboo with the toxicity of LED panels.
Lexus cars continue to get uglier with each iteration....The designers should walk over to see the Mazda Iconic SP. It is the antithesis of this design philosophy with simple, uncomplicated shapes and the right proportions which make for a timeless design!
Actually the Mazda design is kinda ugly too, it's just my opinion and I think design wise and technology this lexus is far better than the Mazda, thats the difference between a premium and a mainstream brand
That interior looks, well very bare bcs its a concept of course, but it looks very good. That dash seems like it could make it to production with bery little changes aside from the steering wheel.
It’s a striking design, but there’s no way it comes to market looking like this. The biggest thing that will have to be changed is the continuous glass roof. It’s beautiful inside in a convention center under the lights but would be a complete greenhouse with the sun beating down on you. Even if they have electrochromic dimming, it still will allow too much sun into the cabin. I like the concept, but the reality of what’s commercially viable and what the public will actually buy will be completely different from this.
It is extremely similar to Opel Experimental, if there had been a little greater distance in time, one would have immediately suspected that the Lexus was a copy.
This looks like a direct replacement for the IS500 which uses a V8. Next gen compact luxury sedan. Edit: A question I have is how will luxury brands marry the design ethos or elements of luxury with futuristic designs? Because the 2 seem to clash and be opposites of each other. Future designs are always very utilitarian, logical, clinical. While Luxury I associte with leather, wood trimmings, suede, alcantara, etc. So I'm wondering how Lexus will marry those 2 opposing design elements.
3:45 Ive said multiple times im not sold on the design but I also do not like how Lexus and Toyota are breaking up the panels with black or in this shot on the C pillar that flat grey. It reminds me of when you bust up your car and go put some diff colored body panels on and don't get around to painting it. I know its not the same but that's the feel i get and its not something id pay money for.
Too many ultra pricy EVs out there. Makes it hard for me to get excited. I am looking forward to the battery technology being mainstreamed. And hopefully making its way to the EPU. Way more excited for the trucks from Toyota.
Looks good from the outside. Inside I am not sure. But Toyota has already lost the race. I mean in this video there is a debate if this thing will ever see production or how close production car will be to this. In China Hiphi and others are already producing these type of vehicles. So Toyota has lost no matter what they do.
And still you plug in and sit f or 20 minutes or 20 hours. This is a Lexus which means pricey. You're going to pay a fortune for that letter L on the front of your car. Plus for that 500 miles of range, 100 thousand dollars minimum. With fueling once a month, (once a month) which takes me 3 to 5 minutes and not 20 minutes or 20 hours, I'll keep my jaguar XJl. With a range of 570 miles which supersedes any EV including this 100 thousand dollar lexus. At 41 thousand dollars, my jaguar is paid off.
Mazda designs also suck, in my opinion. Not quite as bad as this, but they are very bland, with every Mazda car all looking the same, no matter what model you buy.
I am sorry, but it doesn't look good at all. Customers want futuristic and eco-friendly cars but still appreciate their aesthetics. IMHO, this design lacks that appeal. However, thank you guys.
I'm very disappointed with Lexus' styling. Ever since the spindle grill was voted the most hideous, front end of all major brands, they doubled down on it and have now tried various modifications of it. This one takes it onto the hood, and the lights, but there are way too many random angles in the body with triangles and spikes coming off the front-end. The tech may be great, but the design does not bring out good emotions. This car looks like it was designed by Japanese guy who never got past playing with Gundams toys.
The on screen chemistry with you two is off the charts. 😂🤣
I'm positive a romantic comedy is in the works... How to lose a guy in 2.8s!
Old married couple talks over and interrupts each other
Lexus and Toyota, Honda and Mazda showed the world what a technological powerhouse they are.... . Unbelievable, impressive, new production methods, giga casting Ai design, new batteries, new range of cars. And CONFIDENCE!
For real!
I love these companies don't get me wrong. But all I see from this show are the Japanese companies playing catchup now.
@@thtupid nothing wrong with playing catch-up, we need competition. But they are also coming with "new" battery tech and other ideas!
Don’t forget Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Nissan. They always deliver too.
copium battery, pinnacle of Japanese technology

LOVE Japanese brands future, love the collaboration, love the vehicle. 👏👏

Gorgeous Lexus Concept! Great Job Guys!
We need more of you two! Great collaboration!
cockpit looks like a production model but wonder where's air bags
Beautiful Lexus LF ZC, the relentless pursuit of perfection! 🎉❤
Really enjoy watching the two. There is a certain charm watching the generational dynamics and a shared enthusiasm for cars between them. I like it! I like the car too! Currently have a Tesla Model 3, but what I'm seeing at the Tokyo auto show looks really promising!
Hi David & Kirk!
Beautiful car very nice design…🇯🇵🤍❤️
This is why I'll be picking up a lease returned BZ4X in a few years, the next generation batteries will make everything today look like 1920's technology!
I enjoyed the comical pointing at the same time. Very cool car! Gives me hope for electric.
Love❤ the car looks fantastic very beautiful sporty with sharp edges and curves. It looks like the future Lexus IS
I dunno... I wish I were there seeing that in person. Im not sold on the design over the tubes. Perhaps i need to see it more.
Its still 2 years from production and Im sure itll look a lot less concepty than it does now
Amazing, I don't like the busy side on the door tho. The hear end is the best part IMO.
And I absolutely love the new steering area with the dual screens, very jet fighter like looks.
Imagine all the cool new cars on the road in Tokyo around 2026/2027
Tokia, Japan culture, fantastic!!!
Japan is pushing more EV and going global with it!! 😎👍👍
Simply AMAZING!!!
so excited for Lexus' first proper EV.
Yas finally! Waiting for this video since day one! Thanks fellas!
I was soooooo waiting for these guys for this car! I was like :"why they don't talk about it?" !
Love it! As a Lexus driver I am on board!!
I want to see it out in the light.
The two of you make a great team, hope this is a start of a series of videos. But i think he’s in Vancouver if not mistake
Just need a lifted prius and sienna
Looks like a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica in the front.
Let's go Mazda! Zoom Zoom
This car definitely wouldnt be for me looks wise. Weird angles dont do it for me. I prefer smooth curves. 😁
Still seems very concept to me. THe production model will be much more toned down. Would rather see closer to production concepts like the truck.
They will not tone down....tgey know that they have to compete with the Chinese.....extravert styling is key..... . The RZ is a sales failure of epic proportions for Lexus, they know nowxthat they have to deliver in 2026.....a class leading, futuristic quality bev...and they will.
Literally counting days until this car gets released!

I love the push and can't wait for all this tech to make it to mainstream, but I hate the design trends of EVs trying to look weird and futuristic.
I hope Lexus makes this car. Beautiful car one of the best one yet.
Lexus only and for ever😁
awesome Lexus EV!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That looks very nice.
this better not be the next IS. What happened to that gorgeous IS concept from a year ago?
excellent
Excellent
Superbe
I wouldn’t want to be involved in a roll over in this car…😮
This cars rear end looks amazing
I'm watching both channels now, thank you. Styling approach is complete opposite of Mazda's smooth as water shape. It's the ultimate angular version of, say, a Polestar and that's okay too. What if that rear hatch had a tailgate as well!? It’d buy it in a heartbeat

@@Investor_philipsyou nailed it!
What?! You don't like the new MR2 design??
@lordt78 unlike the Mazda concept I am afraid it will not age well....
@@Investor_philipsmy comments were strictly about the styling of Lexus vehicles. Origami should be kept to paper!😂
Well, the inside is pretty cool.
Hi. I'm seriously wondering if lexus will launch a coupe variant of the nx the rx...it wpuld be nice. Any idea?
Baby BZ4X sedan.👌
🤞🏼2028🤞🏼 Looks amazing. 10:43
That interior looks, well very bare bcs its a concept of course, but it looks very good.

Next-gen CT model?
Lexus is now Timeless. With Frameless Windows and HiQ Wood Grain Textured Vinyl Wrap.
Great video
I really would like to purchase a Lexus equivalent to the Prius but I’m not sure what the modern version of that it’s.
It’s a striking design, but there’s no way it comes to market looking like this. The biggest thing that will have to be changed is the continuous glass roof. It’s beautiful inside in a convention center under the lights but would be a complete greenhouse with the sun beating down on you. Beautiful concept! Did you do a video on the Infiniti Qe concept?
It wasnt at the event 😓
Yea this looks pretty bad lmao. Front is hideous and front doors look like they’re dented at a glance. Rear is ok though I guess
I think this EV is a huge leap forward from the boring products Lexus is offering right now. 😄
Would this be sinilar to the Cadillac Celestiq?
It is extremely similar to Opel Experimental, if there had been a little greater distance in time, one would have immediately suspected that the Lexus was a copy.
This is the future design and the Toyota GR MR2, and if you're not into a sporty look, the Cadillac Lyriq and Celestiq are the better choices...
And Akio just repeated "I told you so" about vacuum cleaners.... :D
This looks like a direct replacement for the IS500 which uses a V8. Next gen compact luxury sedan.

Mazda already did those things
Prius like...er, I mean supercar like... nope... you were right the first time! Much closer to a prius than any supercar in design that is.
pretty sure lf-zc is midsize. GS/ES size. IS EV is the one they showed a while back
Zc is compact. Car was very small Inside
The back Light looks like a Cadillac
Will never be build looking as this.
An EV with paddleshifters... very interesting
The RZ has them..
But can it travel in time? I need to ask Doctor Brown a few questions.
I'd be gushing over these concepts cars too if Toyota paid for my trip. 😅

Blade Runner vibes
the stirring wheel look unsafe .
😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
2026 is waaay too late if this is to be the replacement for the IS.
I’m glad ev isn’t the future right now. It’s hybrid.
Do you really like those front doors? Looks like someone kicked in the doors. 😮
This doesn't deserve the LF nameplate
Looks good from the outside. Inside I am not sure. But Toyota has already lost the race. This yoke thing needs to DIAF.
2023 they s can't make a production car as the concept car humanity really failed we should've flying cars and autonomous cars by now
Are we looking at the same car?? It looks terrible 😳
Agree 💯

They cant be serious with this design language.
You guys seem rushed 😂 good job though
That thing looks hideous. Like a BZ4X on steroids. Toyota needs to lean on Mazda for their designs.
Mazda designs also suck, in my opinion. Not quite as bad as this, but they are very bland, with every Mazda car all looking the same, no matter what model you buy.

You are 3 years away from production, you better get more they 500 miles on range
フロントガラスを寝かせて、ダッシュボードが深いとガラスやダッシュボードが拭けない使いづらい
When are these automakers going to stop throwing money into EV when people dont want them? Weird business model.
Exactly. Total waste of time. By the time this is released, electric cars will be a dead issue anyway.
They’re gonna be required by law in some states

This guy said the RZ is a good vehicle 🤔 complete Lexus fanboy
It's far from perfect but It is good as long as you don't travel far regularly. Watch my review
THIS CAR LEXUS NOT PRODUCT READY TRUNK SPACE LONGER NO BUMPER NO DASHBOARD NOT READY.2026...
Not a fan at all.
Tesla’s design is getting really old 🤯
