it helps to hold down the ptt button down for .5 to a full second before talking to avoid the ptt delay, although i have a gmrs license and a repeater set up my mom doesn't really know how to call out my callsign or use gmrs so i will be getting here these radios, the ip 67 rating is a bonus since she gardens and works around water a lot not to many frs radios has this feature

Test the range like how many miles it goes I think it 10km pretty good
I used it for a Cruise. Worked on Celebrity cruise ship end to end
the boat linth was short a nuff to keep the circles over laped and
