Love that Power Wagon body. These have come a long way since the V1 Outback Mini. Still can't compete with the performance of the SCX24's but as a second mini crawler for the kids to play with this looks a good option.
Well done 👏 love the quick radio battery swap lol. The jeep looks amazing, definitely a tough choice so just have to get both . Thanks again for sharing another great video 👍👍💪💪
I love them to. Bought a SCX24 and it is awesome. I had to build a Track in my garden what wouldnt be possible in a bigger scale. I also uploaded a few videos. These two are looking very good too. Thanks for sharing.
We course outside and put it up against the mini 3. Scx24. Wpl c24? Different scales but still would be fun to see and any other ones you have done. Everyone loves a shoot out lol 😆
@@TomleyRC be good to see them all go against each other. O sold my axial scx24 got a hbx 16889 but started looking at them again 🙈 tempted for either a outback mini 3 or wpl c24km not sure yet.
Yeah the little trucks are the way to go...you need less real estate and of course less money! The new neighbour was marvelling at my WPL C-14 on the weekend...he never fell over when he found out how cheap it was, mods and all...and it climbs the snow banks like a boss. My kid and I (he’s in his 20’s) were musing about big crawlers but he’s in university and I still feed him...so, little trucks for us! Hahahahah. These little rigs are really cool, Phil but I’m Power Wagon all the way. When I worked in the bush I had a ‘77 Power Wagon...the last of the ‘real’ 4x4’s....Mother Mopar all the way.☺️
@@TomleyRC yeah, I hear ya. I’m seriously looking at that 1/16 Jeep on Banggood, the Crappy one with the awesome orange body...only because it’s orange, and a Jeep. Hahahahaha The only thing with having a real Power Wagon is that it was NOT road friendly. What’s the word you guys use in the UK? Rubbish! (I’m in Western Canada). Hahahha...anyhow, when we had the Power Wagon it was because we needed one to get to work (I worked in the bush and the oil). Believe me, for as hard as it was to drive in town, you’d want nothing else when there’s non existent roads covered in ice and snow. ☺️
Not for me, however, saying that, I've got a couple of 1/16 military trucks, which during the lockdown, have been useful in allowing me to use them in my garden....
Mini crawlers are more fun because you found way more spots ,they roll over the wildest hills but never break any parts! It take a half hour charge the small batterie. Tuning doesent break the bank. Way more space to collect more different trucks.Transport the light truck back pack is way more fun than with a 1:10 scale. I got the Patrion,Axial SCX 24 Wrangler ,Axial SCX 24 Gladiator,Hobby Plus Van and Trail Hunter.Damned i am addicted ha ha!
Love the old school look of the Texan 👍 But I wish they would have (or could have? 🤔) deepened the load space, so as to accommodate some realistic looking cargo for those perilous, do or die, Moonshine Whiskey runs along the hazardous Moonlit Mountain trail where the Highway Patrols fear to travel... 😉 Good Luck with the House move... ✌️😎 I don’t envy you that horrendously laborious chore. And anyone with a serious Hobby knows, that the older you get, the greater the accumulated mountain of stuff you have to pack up and shift, every time you move... 😰
For having a few brands of 1/18 crawlers, none has beaten RC4WD 1/18 crawlers... they are metal, heavy and have lots of upgrade from third party vendors. But some are hard to find like the Bronco!!
@@alex_micro_cars8429 Agreed on styles but not so sure on the rest ;-) My RC4WDs with Castle Creation ESC, Crawlster shocks, new weighted wheels and soft tires is very capable ;-P In all cases, between scale and performance, I always go for scale and build up from there. But yes that's my kind of fun.
I'm a long term 1:10 scale fan but last year I got myself two 1:18 scale crawlers and they are great! Perfect for indoor or outside use, easy to carry around wherever you go, simple USB charging and ideal for beginner drivers too. Very tempted to get a mini Fury to add to my collection. The Katana I have rolls over quite easily so with a lexan body, the Fury should be a bit more stable. The best performer though still remains the QX-4 buggy by Partner Racing. See both in action on my channel, BlackSeaRC.
Hi phil i am looking at getting the outback mini texan because i love the design of the body on it and i was wondering if you could tell me if the esc it comes with has a slot to plug extra lights in because i am getting leds for the roll cage light
Only been in the hobby for 18 months so I've not tried crawling yet, starting bashing on 3s but now I'm all about 6s speed runs. Never say never but can't see myself getting into crawling. Nice video though
Hi Thank you for your nice and informative videos. Please allow me to track back in time about your HG P410 video where you replaced the stock tires with bigger one's which looks amazing. I just recently bought one, and being a newbee to this hobby, is it possible for me to know the size of the bigger tires and wheels? any suggestions on the sizes? Will the HG P407 tires fit this? I am sure the wheels are with different holes, please advise. Again thanks and more power to your channel.
Hi Romeo. The Wheels Hex size is a standard 12mm. So most rock Crawler wheels will fit. I would recommend a 1.9 size wheel, with a tyre no larger than around 102mm. i hope that helps
I've had a few micro crawlers and even a $500+ SCX24 but they just feel a little too limited and too cheap for me. I think it's great that it's an affordable way for people to get into the hobby without dropping $500+ on a 1/10th scale truck.
What are these like for upgrades? As someone starting out it seems a bit daunting which scale/platform to start out with. Love the look of the Texan, but from a layman's perspective both look like they'd benefit from some more weight. Can you get generic weights to hide on the chassis or do you need to replace specific parts with brass? Would this just be considered the "FTX outback mini" platform, shared with a few 1/24 scale ones?
I'm so-so on the crawlers, fun for a while but I get bored with it fast. Would quite like to build a really capable dual esc dual steer 10-12th scale with digital fpv in the cab and 900mhz control link for some proper long range missions.
