I have revisited every single of my favorites game in psx in this quarantine. And i can say that tenchu the stealth assasins got the best soundtrack of the whole era.
Noriyuki Asakura also made Rurouni Kenshin's OST, you can see where the quality comes from, the guy knew what he was doing, thanks god he was in charge.
I agree. I still consider the original to be the best in both atmosphere, script and music, but all games have good things about them. Sekiro Shadows Die Twice was nearly a Tenchu game, so perhaps we'll get one eventually. This soundtrack though, perfection, hope you enjoyed it, feel free to listen anytime.
Oh man, I still remember the Manji Cult song. Not only is the music good but the way those cultists move (or dance) around and make the sounds that the make (almost like baby sounds) really rubbed my uncanny valley senses real hard. It was actually quite scary level. 😅 But I loved it!
Ha! Yeah, those dudes were indeed freaky. That's a tough level too as it's sometimes hard to judge their movements for a sneak attack. Funny thing is, when I listen to that track, I can't help but also hear them go "Haauurrrghhh" lol
I was working in Electronics Boutique during Tenchu's launch and I don't think I pushed any game harder on the PS1 than this game. From playing the demo to finally getting the game...PS1 perfection.
Was this game good, what was it on? I played tenchu wrath of heaven on ps2 and absolutely loved it, but thats the only one i played. Do you think the new FromSoftware game is a new tenchu?
Vector3 Loved Wrath of Heaven as well, but I still class the first Tenchu game as the best, especially for this soundtrack. This game was on the PS1 and is credited as the first 3D stealth game, even before the likes of Metal Gear Solid. If From Software are doing a new Tenchu game then consider me excited heh.
Indeed. I've played Tenchu a million times and that song is not in the retail release. When I bought the album I noticed this new track straight away and wondered what it was. I've tried to find out but I believe it's just a unique track to the physical album. Maybe it was cut from the game, but I think it was just for the physical CD OST. And now it's like one of my favourite tracks from the series heh. You clearly know your Tenchu anyway, good ears.

@Clocked It Damn no Training Music on CD? I just finally bought an original from Discogs (didint receive the package yet), I have listened to this music million times and Tenchu is in my top three games ever, also the soundtrack I think (really hard to say, Soul Reaver and Resident Evil 2 are so close) and Training music is almost the best of them (Cure the Princess is my favorite one if I had to pick one). Too bad, but still cant wait when CD finally arrives. This game has so much magic and I still believe there will be remake some day. But ONLY with original soundtrack like in RE2 Remake. Man I miss those times, thanks for sharing, love reading comments under such uploads where I can find so many more fans like me. Sorry my English, greetings from Poland!
Giovannie Guzman I believe it's a Japanese woman by the name of Yui Murase. The intro theme titled 'Add'ua' is actually sung in West African language of Hausa; this was done at the request of the composer's wife.

The music in this game elevates it to another level and without it, it just wouldn't be as good.
Asakura should work on Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro project. His music so good to bring vibes feudal era and mythical of Japan.
Funny thing is, Sekiro started off as Tenchu game, so yeah, that would have been perfect.
@@ClockedIt even funnier, he did compose some tracks for Sekiro, the most famous ones are Apparitions and Great Shinobi.

it is a great game because of several factors and its soundtrack is just perfect. Tenchu is the reason why i bought ps1.

Listening to this while playing Sekiro. It would have been great if FromSoftware had picked up Asakura to make the OST.
Crazy thing is, Sekiro started out as a new Tenchu game. This is one of my most favourite OST's ever and yes, Asakura on Sekiro could have been epic.
According to imdb he has a music credit on Sekiro. I know was mainly Yuka Kitamura though. :)
