As you have both sets of stickers you can tell Nathaniel what size the stickers need to be so he could make up a small Rothmans sticker sheet specifically for this body, including any colour correction that's needed.
I think it counts as a release rather than a re-release, seeing as the original Porsche 956 was 1/12th and not 1/10th scale, and on a different chassis. It still looks gorgeous, as do a lot of the late 1980's and early 1990's Group C race cars.
Mine is due to show up Monday! I am just going to rock the generic Tamiya stickers on it, I am not tied to the Rothmans livery at all so it doesn't matter to me very much. If it were a true 1-1 re-re of the original then the MCI decals would be going on it to make it just like the original. It is still going to be a great looking car either way!
I received mine the other day as well. One thing I noticed was the quality of this kits stickers. They are even better than other tamiya kits I have gotten recently as well. I have an old 959 sticker sheet I was gonna snag the rothmans off but they don’t comppmatxh up either. This is definitely a pondering thought on what to do.
I have that one too. Scanning and will be printing resized at correct size on transparant self-adhesive laser printable sheets... Have printed decals before that way
Maybe the reproduction decals are more accurate in size to the original 1/12 decals than Tamiya's new 1/10 scale decals? I'd like to see the dimensions of the original 1/12 compared to both 1/10 decals. Either way it looks like a great kit and all of the decals look well done.
Neither 1/10 or 1/12 bodies are scale accurate to the original. Both bodies are designed to fit specific chassis rather than the chassis being made to fit a scale body. To be scale the 1/12 version would need to be about 25mm longer. Tamiyas skill is in making bodies that look scale when shrunk to fit their chassis.
On MCI website there are something called Design your own ....... So i will measure up the Rothmans decals and order just those. the others i will use from the set
I ordered custom color Brat stickers from MCI, they looked OK, they aren't as perfect and the lines aren't as straight on them, so I guess if I was looking to do something show quality, I'm not sure I would use MCI but not there's a better option either. I think for my 956, I'm going to do a Pink Pig livery instead of box art.
it's 1/10th and not the 1/12th scale from years ago and it's also a different chassis, so in my opinion a release or a new rc car in their Group C ( Lemans cars) series. i wish they would bring out the 1/12th porsche and especially the NEWMAN HAAS yellow/Black version....

I recently received a new product info which looks like the correct, not upscaled decals. Wonder if you’ll be doing a video on it.

Will be interesting to see how limited the numbers of these are. Looking forward to mine arriving in the mail soon 😊
Ok yes
hoping for a 959 🤞🤞
Interesting kit. It will be good to see one finished. I'm still waiting on the Hornet Evo to be released....here (Aus).
Good video. However the MCI scale may be correct as the original 1./12 stickers may have had slightly different measurements (if that makes sense) 👍

MCI can upscale the stickers to 1/10.

Tamiya did. They re-released the New Man Porsche body on the RM01 chassis in 2011 although probably harder to find than the original these days.
Thanks very much Tamiya for your Aussie and Kiwi customers.. we're still waiting :|
Nice kit , I wish Tamiya would make a dt03t into 1/8 scale ,would be sick
