- We are going to look at Romans 12:1-2 and talk about the will of God, what it means, how to find it, and what it means to have your mind renewed to find it.

I've been following Pastor John MacArthur for a number of years and recently heard him mention John Piper, so I tuned in to find out for myself.
Now, I'm a new listener to Pastor John Piper. He is a wonderful teacher who's expressions help create a beautiful message. I appreciate pastors who teach truth, unafraid to preach about sin. So many pastors lead people down a false path of obtaining abundant "blessings and healing" without having to live in a Christlike manner.

This sermon messed up time travel movies for me. We cannot know the will of decree ahead of time. God wants it that way, so that we will be renewed in our minds and know the will of command.

I got raped three times by three of my brother's friends and I think it's God's blessing that happened the great misery I went through God showed me his love and I love them people that did that I forgive them they didn't know what they was doing because if they knew what they was doing they wouldn't have done it when you have great misery and when you find God you get greater light I don't know how to explain it but you get in tune with him even more is like more you isn't Satan's grasp more you in God's grace

God blessed me by answering my Prayers asking for Wisdom and Discernment.
Even though when I was very young the Lord laid on my heart to become a Missionary going back to a Communist Country where Christianity was / is frowned upon.
I did something different and there were definitely very very painful consequences.
Years have passed and I feel that God has forgiven me, and continues to assist me in success in understanding God the Bible and the continued Study of Theology.

In my 57 years, I've asked many preachers who say, "Be in the center of God's will" how to find it, and they didn't know.

Until I started listening to preachers who take the Word seriously and who have stopped trying to please the world, I was in the same place. I used to go to non-denoms, Lutheran churches, etc. Only in reformed churches have I heard an answer that is complete and Biblical.

In the parable of the two sons, Jesus rebukes the chief priests and elders for failing to do the will of the Father; specifically, they “did not repent and believe” (Matthew 21:32). *At its most basic, the will of God is to repent of our sin and trust in Christ.* That's the will of God to walk in a manner like his Son love one another and love God with all our hearts all our mind and all our strength! Jesus said , “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

I bless God for John Piper too. But God has also blessed us his children with this mind to understand Scripture by His Spirit - we all have the mind of Christ but John Piper probably spends more time searching, studying and meditating on the Word of God than you and I😉. I think this is also one of the points JP makes in this sermon - that if we do the same, our minds will be renewed and we too will be able to know and approve the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.
We worship a eternal God and Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ.
There's nothing that even comes close to being primary in John's life other than pleasing God then pleasing God and knowing his word and helping others to do that
I think that although we can be in the center of God's will, it is always necessary to examine if the arrow that he has sent to that center has penetrated sufficiently in our hearts, thus nailing all the intentions in the cross of Christ.
And no longer do we live for sins but unto righteousness.We were delivered by the blood of Jesus Christ and set free and remain free.We no longer have a past.

There is a bigger will than this of God, a will that encompasses all of which is discussed here and throughout the Bible. I would love to talk to Piper about it. And that will is most clearly seen in John 3:16.
God has been leading me to sermons that are His timing, His WILL! What I do with them is my choice. I'd listened to a couple of sermons on forgiveness. Two days ago a friend totally turned on me as I was helping her. She suddenly lost all trust in me. I've been so mad since. I knew I needed to go to her. I know that whatever caused her to do that wasn't about me. Maybe she was triggered. IDK her past, but anything is possible. I told God I know I'm being prideful. But look what she did! I don't deserve that. She's like my mom. I so wanted to do the God thing, but how? I got on my knees and kept praying. By the time I was done I was so grateful to God for changing my heart and opening my eyes. Due to childhood trauma (I've been in therapy for it for a year.), this is literally the first time I've won such a battle whether it's forgiveness, lack of motivation, judging - whatever. When I was able to come through to the other side it was due to will. Not a bad thing, but I was doing it for me. I was doing it while angry and critical inside. I was doing the right thing, but not the right way because God wasn't in it. I finally know the difference and it's sooo freeing! I've been wanting to watch this sermon all day but had no chance. I had to hear it after I got on my knees. I had to learn more about the will of God. Why some things happen. That He wants me to come to Him with such struggles so I can surrender and obey. I finally gave Him my burden and He took it from me. I finally know Jesus wasn't just with me, but he was righteously angry with my abuser. Not passive as previous therapists led me to believe because God is good. Well, He also hates sin! I'm so grateful for God's timing in me listening to this sermon as well as the ones before. Blessings!

The only way to know God's Will is to pray and hear Jesus Himself, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, not even studying the bible will ever be enough.

Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
God does not will for anyone to sin.
He does not allow sin to come in the way of His will.
The one who chooses to sin will suffer the - consequences.
The one who chooses not to sin may suffer because of his obedience but ultimately will be better off because he has pleased God .
God will work it for His Good .
God uses ALL for HIS good OF HIS WILL .
We please God by believing in what his Son did for us on the cross and accepting the total forgiveness and the restored spirit that is the salvation that he provided for us . NOT by being obedient by trying not to sin. Jesus took all our sins and placed them on himself so we could be found not guilty by God". We please God when we trust in what our savior did for us and not what we can or will do for him by our works of the flesh". His will is that we receive the inheritance of his restored spirit that was lost in Adam. He dealt with the sin issue on the cross. We are now seen by God as forgiven children through the righteousness of Christ and now live our lives in the rest that Christ provides us".
Regarding God "ordaining sin", or allowing it.... all things work together for good, for those who love the Lord and are committed to His purpose." So, God allows sin... even for His purpose.
When you are set free you are set free.
And my mind has been changed because when surrendering to God after repenting in the heart God took me in his Son Jesus Christ and by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ and in the Spirit cleansed me and has brought me into the relationship with him.Delivered from sins and the past and not living in the past and having a renewed mind and new heart and his Word in me.Holy Spirit filled living waters.The Lord changes the person.The Spirit and believing in what Christ did for you and you have Gods grace and Mercy and love and forgiveness.And you have turned to the Father and the Son Jesus Christ and belong to him alone in the Spirit.Your body is the temple of God and your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.Put not in your body anything that defiles the temple are in your mind.
And the transforming power and Holy Spirit Sanctified.The Holy Spirit is like being born over again.
In them i really have matured also in conjunction with the bible compared to other doctrines which sway like the wind.
Repent for your sins and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ
The Spirit is in my mortal body in my flesh and in my mind.
He is fully God.Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ the Father and the Spirit in him.
Acknowledge the Lord

JESUS obviously wasn't " happy" about the physical pain HE knew was coming but yes, being totally separated from GOD The FATHER and The HOLY SPIRIT by becoming our payment for sin, I'm sure weighed much heavier. Praise JESUS!

+Amanda 83 You are misinterpreting scripture. The becoming sin aspect, doesn't mean literally. In the original Greek, it is written as carrying our sin. He did not become corrupt. he carried our sin, He did not literally become sin.
wrists, people are nailed through their wrists when crucified as the skin and tissue around hand just tears and hands flop loose.

Good sermon. But I don't see how I have to believe that God is ordaining the evil happening to me for him to be able to help me.

I have a similar situation at a job. However these people lie on me , they are corrupt to the point of it probably being criminal.
I have spoken harsh words to some people because it is constant non sense every day.
I need serious guidance on what I should do and don't know what I should do.
