I first heard Mule Skinner Blues by the Osbourne Brothers 44 years ago as a young boy. Bobby's voice mesmerized me way back then, and still does, and in my opinion, the Osbourne Brothers' interpretation of Jimmie Rodgers' Mule Skinner Blues is the definitive rendition.

Bobby Osborne won a purple heart in the Korean war. Thank you sir for your service to this country. There are probably a few bluegrass singers who can sing as high as Bobby. John duffey and Donny catron of the Tennessee gentleman to name a couple but I never heard anyone who could hit that high of a note and hold it for so long, what a talent and American treasure.

(My dad was in the Seldom Scene and took us kids to almost all the festivals), they used a lot of profanity off stage, but believed it tacky onstage and hardly ever did.
