How To Find Copywriting Clients On LinkedIn (Tips For Beginners)

Cold pitching on LinkedIn is how I built my entire freelance copywriting business. It’s how I landed my first client in less than 30 days. It’s how I began making a full-time income in 4 months.
Cold messaging not only worked for me, but it also worked for most of the other successful copywriters I speak to. Did I have an advantage because my previous career in sales had me sending hundreds of cold messages? Maybe.
But other than that, I’m not special-anyone can succeed with LinkedIn as long as you’re sending the right messages.

After watching this video, I see why you're uniquely qualified to teach writers the #1 biggest hurdle: getting clients and sales. Your 10 years of sales and cold pitching makes you a top person to listen on this topic. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Great tips here, Christine!

I just recently came across a couple of your videos and find them very helpful, I have been a writing articles and blogs for number of years on topics and subjects that are alternative compared to mainstream as a outlet and to hopefully pass on information that would open people's eyes on topics that effect all of our lives every day.
I just started to look into ways of making money writing as a side gig, along side what I have already been doing for awhile, I have been in sales previously for many years as well as a business owner and still do some sales part time. I have watched many videos thus far on making money writing and copywriting being at the top of the list.
But if I have to watch anymore videos, I am going to get physically sick lol
    I just want to write.
There are so many videos and so many opinions of doing this way and don't do it this way and Yada yada yada..
I do agree with you on the fact of keeping rates and fees charged at a premium.
When the economy took a plunge, everybody and their mother decided to get into the same business I was doing and under cutting everybody else to the point nobody was making what you should be making not even close.
Taken over by inexperienced people and poor quality work
and making it hard to do business at all.
    Anyway I rambled enough.
    I enjoy your videos.
    😅

I didn't think anyone on TH-cam gave REALLY GOOD and USEFUL advice.
I wasted a lot of time watching videos with lots of graphics and no useful content.
I believe you are a blessing to me!
I'm going to do everything you say and hopefully, I can get the results I feel I can get because of your guidance.
I will let you know the results if you want.

I am open to learning. I have a schedule with very limited time, as I work full time. I haven't had any paid clients in 5 months. None. I have something that is blocking me. Hoping to use a certain system to attract clients :)

Excellent information. Are you only sending connection requests to people that could potentially hire you? Or are you just trying to build connections within the industry and not always pitching to every person?

    • @paidcopywriter
      @paidcopywriter  ปีที่แล้ว +2

When it comes to sending connection requests on LinkedIn, it's good to mix it up. You don't have to pitch to every person you connect with. It's important to build connections within the industry, connect with fellow professionals, mentors, and industry influencers. That way, you can stay updated on industry trends, gain insights, and even find collaboration opportunities. Of course, you should also target your requests to potential clients who align with your niche. Customize your messages to show your interest and be genuine in your approach. Building relationships is key!
So, connect with a mix of industry people and potential clients. It's all about finding the right balance and nurturing those connections for success.

Does this method mainly work for a freelancer who applies for a job? I don't want to apply for jobs. I want to write for a few different clients at a time, without actually being an employee or freelance employee. Does this make sense?

Hi! Thanks for the advice! A question I’m having trouble getting an answer for is what form does the portfolio come in? I know many people say a website, but I don’t have money for hosting right now.
Should this be something sent as pdf? Word? A folder with separate files inside? Or something totally different?

Hey, you can easily set up a public google docs profile or portfolio, no need to spend money on hosting. Even Canva offers free website publishing now where you can attach links to your work. Hope this helps. :)

Hello. What you think of a writer that has more than 1000 followers on his Linkedin account and can’t get a single client? That keyboarder is me. I’m a content and creator writer. I also develop blog posts and copy. My clients are indirect clients. Let me explain it. As freelancer writer I write for a Colombian content agency. The method is as follow: they publish a contest for an article about business, for example and there are only five slots. If I win I write the article and cash comes by. The clients for whom I write are the best and biggest companies from Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Mexico. But my name doesn’t appear in the article when is posted. So I don’t have any way to prove that I’m the truly author of those articles when I want to place them in my portfolio. What do you advise me to do? Instead last year -2022- I wrote 84 articles. I handle the following topics: Business, Human Resources, Management, Technology and Entertainment. Sorry, those articles are in Spanish, but I can write in English as well.
