The latest range of Simplicity patterns was such a big release I couldn't fit all my favourites in one video so I decided to do a dedicated vintage sewing patterns release as well.
In this video you'll find my favourites from the latest Simplicity vintage re-release patterns from the 1960s and 1950s.
I love the fun design features on these patterns, they are so quirky and different to a lot of the modern and contemporary designs. Oversized patch pockets on a jaunty angle, cute half moon collar details and angular feature seams to name but a few.
As always I've included suggestions for the fabrics you could use to sew them up in and I've added links to everything.

I had the first pattern when I was 18 and made several times. One Saturday I bought fabric at the local market in my lunch break, made the dress when I got home from my Saturday job and went out in it that evening!

Definitely Mad Men vibes. That gorgeous delphinium blue fabric & pattern made me think of Jackie Kennedy & her exquisite style. For the beach jacket, I could see that in an eyelet. Enjoyed this video!

Hi Lucy! I was born in the 60's and remember my very young mom wearing a lot of these styles. I think that's why I love this time period so much. The Mad Men and Mrs. Maisel series both made me drool for the fashion. Lovely fabrics.

Oh my gosh!
I made S9914 in 1970!! I loved it!
I used jumbo rick rack on the sleeves.
Made it out of a nice cotton

I love this idea that your doing vintage patterns. I love the 1950's but I only see that you have 1? Will you be doing/have more in the 1950's? I sure hope so, and thank you!

Lovely patterns and fabrics. The S9916 is similar to a dress I purchased in the late 1970s. Dark brown, off the shoulder maxi evening dress in a printed silk/satin fabric. Very close fitting and I can remember the male assistant zipping the side zip up and expertly encasing my body into it. He was gay so no uncomfortable feeings. The dress was wonderful.
