Originally designed by Gerald Genta, the Nautilus is as iconic as his Royal Oak. The Patek Philippe Nautilus was introduced in 1976 and it was meant to represent port holes or port windows on boats. The Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet was released seven years prior in 1970 and that watch design sought to replicate a diver's helmet, hense the visible screws. On today's episode, we'll be comparing two Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshores in Rose Gold.

Is the retail price you have listed for the 5712/1A correct? $68,750?
Adrian would like the 42mm in Ti. That has the updates pushes and overall case design while maintaining that 42mm size. Not to mention how thin the piece is and in Ti, its easy to wear.

I got the PP 5712 and the Rolex Daytona Ceramic black dial, so I’m with Adrian for the win.
I would love to see an episode of this where you find mid-high end watches neither of them have seen before, give it to them 5 minutes ahead of time and let them argue their merits.

Steel Daytona, 42mm offshore, 5712 All day a clean sweep! Sorry Roman, but you’re still the man.
Rolex: I would say it is a tie, I would just buy both if I have the chance to. But if the AD offered me to buy only one watch I would go with the gold Daytona because the red letters op up more on a golden watch. Also I feel the ceramic is easier to get compared to the golden one
, but correct me if I'm wrong.
AP: Roman, the rubber strap indeed looks nice, the combination is nicer. Leather strap watches look better on dress watch (unless vintage).
Patek: Adrian, probably because I just recently ordered one 5712, but I'm the guy who likes to go for complications.
No one (apart from watch store workers) notice any of my watches, including my ceramic bezel, and my stainless steel bezel Daytona.
Also, just for my mental health, please Roman screw down the Chrono pusher on the gold Daytona. 😊

These would be more fun to watch IF Adrien knew the history behind these watches... I think if you had Tim on from “the WatchBox”, the battle would be so much cooler and interesting to watch!! Tim is in Philly, so not too far from Southampton. Makin it happen is def feasible Roman!!
Adrian won all 3 rounds. Funny is that Roman was trying to use Adrian's argument about the steel Daytona against Adrian with the Patek.
The 42mm offshore isn't all one color. THere are black accents that break it apart, and it looks so much more elegant and luxurious. Roman's is like someone coming out of Rambo
I like the look of the steel Daytona better, but for 3k more, I'd probably get the Gold. 5712 for sure and the 42mm AP over the 44

have both 5711 and 5712, so hard to just pick one over another, spread my time with both, sorry, if have to? 5711, cause I bought it for my son
5712 is the clear winner over the 5711. With the others it can go either way. The ceramic makes the daytona a lot more sporty and the gold is way more dressy. With the APs the brick has a better size with 42mm over the 44mm of the new model, but i like the dial better with the new one.
Roman, I love you but if would also go with Adrian’s choices. All 3 of them.
Maybe I'm the minority here but I've always felt metal bezel daytonas look much cooler.
The 5712/1A a better watch than the standard 5711/1A in my opinion... Adrian takes it for me, I’d take the Ceramic Daytona and the gold dial Offshore looks more attractive

The 44 AP design wise is way better. It’s sits cleaner on the wrist than the 42.

I think 'experienced' watch guys will pick 5712 and those who follow the trend will go for the 5711. Both are great watches.
An AP either Royal oak or offshore gives patek Philippe 52 Swift kicks in the ass.that is if you are not a dainty man with thin wrists then the patek is the way to go but if you are more of a muscular man the AP is more of a he-man's watch
