Thanks for this. The lightbulb finally went off when you explained and showed how you were placing your pencil as much or as little as needed when you were matching up the seam lines. I think what finally made it click for me was being able to see the pattern lines underneath. Other tutorials showed the process but I couldn’t figure out what they were doing because they didn’t show what was going on underneath. Thank you so much for giving me the “a ha” moment

Lightbulb. I feel like Thomas Edison who made a 1000 prototypes before the light turned on. I can't tell you
how stupid I was feeling Alexandra!
Funny, the last song I listened to on the radio last night as I pulled into the garage was; "I go walking, after Midnight."
I always hated that song. LOL

Thank you for showing us the process. However I am still unclear about what should I do, if my problem is actually the front vs. back pattern seam length. If I made such a triangular overlap in the middle of the side seam on my front pattern, it would destroy the shape of the pattern piece, wouldn't it? Especially when the front piece is to be cut on the fold and some waist darts might be included. Could you also explain this more complicated situation, please?

Hi Alexandra thank you for your videos. I would like to ask you about trueing a pattern from an existed one such as a jacket or a leather coat. Could you give some tips? As plastic trueing, pinning trueing, measurements trueing, draping trueing...is there some other technique?
    Thank you

@@AlexandraMorganInHousePatterns ho Alexandra, Thanks foto tour reply. I'm talking about copying a pattern from garments that are not textiles such as leather that is difficult to pin.
In these days I'm copying some leather garments patterns, I'm trying with plastic bags laid on the garment piece (a sleeve or a front). It's difficult to do it properly and it's difficult to stop the plastic because I must use an adhesive tape to not pin the leather (think as this Material in a thick way). Do you have maybe some tips?
