I used this twice training yesterday. Felt weird getting the roll right, but I just remembered the flared elbow and big chest. My elbow went to their armpit, then down the lat to to hip - right at the point they realized something went wrong on the darce attempt. I'll try to add the armbar next time I hit it. Every school has 2-3 people who either darce or bolo every chance they get.
Two things: first, a simple low level defense to the D’Arce is to turn to your belly. This relieves the pressure a little bit. From there you could come up to your knees and then use that escape. Secondly, if you are sufficiently squirmy you might be able to turn out the same way from your side. Give it a try

Love it! Thank you.
Very interesting, does it still work if you’re not on your knees? What if you were lying on your side? Thanks!

@@StephanKesting thanks for taking the time to reply, will definitely try it out.
Really great explanation and demonstration here!
Thank you
I don't see the sit out. It looks more like a back step to me. 🤔
I love the d'arce 😁
Why do you have to ruin 50% of my game? 😂
To give you the opportunity to get better at it! Every technique has a counter, every counter has recounters, so find those recounters!!!
