I will say it's important to know that the burgers were in fact leftovers. They were still overly mean about it, but I feel like most people don't realize the context of it. Jungkook didn't spend his own money on it, it was money from his team on that particular game show. Jungkook's team had enough money to buy food while the other team didn't, so they brought the "leftovers" back for the other team. They were still mean though about it, but context is important.

The conversation between the political commentators was about how BTS threatens the existence of the music industry since BTS grew as huge as thry are WITHOUT them. Those Kpop companies and media fear them because they cannot compete against us (ARMY) which is how BTS became as bug as they are. That’s why BTS loves ARMY so much. They recognize that they would nit have reached so many people around the world without their fandom.
The US music industry is also included in that. Grammys, Billboards, etc… fear them too because they make no money off them. BTS does not pay for radio play or to any music company at all, so in both Korea and the US, no one except HYBE (BigHit) and BTS, makes money from them. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Pure jealousy!!

What really baffled me, was they were so young, just kids, they were working hard, they were not given anything. Adults, adults were spewing and pouring out, leading the hate towards BTS, trying to kill their dreams. That was shocking to see, just heartbreaking. I was definitely not and still not completely familiar with fandoms (I, myself am just a fan of artists), but to see them team up against BTS just to try to stop them, OMG! I am so grateful that BTS had/has ARMY!!!! I am so happy that they stuck with it. It's annoying to see how much they had to go through to achieve what they did and to see now, other artists taking the world platform that BTS provided for K Pop, not acknowledge them, act like they did it on their own. I could keep going...so infuriating. I am so grateful for ARMY being there for BTS, truly. Thank you for sharing.

What’s funny about the SK companies complaining about BTS is that they kind of started it themselves. The companies refused/blocked them from promotions and performances so Big Hit came up with a work around -social media, their own game shows etc. Which helped fans develop a strong bond that they may not have had otherwise- or as quickly. And it made BTS fight harder which only benefited them. Now the SK companies (and others around the world) are jealous of their success and are back to trying to sabotage BTS. So go head, do your thing because we all know(!!!!!) it will only make them stronger and come out on top!!

The thing with JK and the hamburgers gets me every time. He was a teenage boy and they were adults. Shame on them for treating a child with anything but kindness. And then later as the same show host has the nerve to be involved with them again, JK shows his own maturity by greeting him kindly and with forgiveness. 1:36 bts released a book past year that can cover some of the gaps
One passage that stuck with me was a story v (taehyung) told in it. After attending an award show where they were either ignored or mocked by other idols he said, “we all got into the van together... Someone was crying, someone was getting really mad, and someone just couldn't speak. That unspeakable disappointment and that tear jerking emotion was too much.”

Also they have prometed heavily for mental health. We, as ARMY, protect them the only way we can, through Twitter, instagram and any social media we can use. They are what they seem, sweet, kind, endearing, talented, loving, talented. If they didn't have the talent to back up their fan world they would not still be going after more than 10 years and counting. Let the haters hate. Let the jealous be jealous. The whole military postponement thing is so hilarous, because BTS/BigHit/Hybe are literally just vibing, minding their business, creating art and working for their fans/ARMY(and also planning to complete their military service). Meanwhile all these other companies are crying because it's unfair. I'm not even ARMY, I've been listening to Kpop since the late 2000's and man...when my non-kpop friends told me about BTS I was so surprised. BTS wasn't just famous around the world by k-pop fans...they brought NEW fans to Kpop who would have never listened to the genre, they became mainstream GLOBALLY. I still hear their music in public places.
These companies are just mad that BTS/BigHit/Hybe did better than they ever could without them, and even with all the pushback. I honestly don't even think Hybe will ever be able to replicate BTS ever again. There may be people who are just as talented as the boys, but the chemistry, authenticity and relationships they all have with one another and their fans can't be copied.

no matter how many fandoms team up to vote for a specific artists, no matter how much they cheat by buying votes, we've always prevailed.
imagine putting in so much time and effort out of hate and failing to support your own artist...
no matter how much they hate, we will always win cause we don't come from a place of envy and resentment.
i'd suggest doing longer videos and reacting to their albums in full.
if a reacter is genuine, army would even watch a 2h long video.

    Thanks for this reaction
V's Grandma's death: the abuse piled on V is shocking enough anywhere, but even more so in Korean culture. His grandma basically raised V and his siblings because both his parents had to work away, and they were all very close to her. V told the fans about her death on the 49th day after she died. On that day, there are family ceremonies for the deceased and of course he could not attend. These ceremonies mark the fact that by tradition after the 49th day the soul of the deceased is able to move on into the afterlife and be reborn. It is very significant, and perhaps even ore important for family than the funeral which is a more public occasion.
Plagiarism journalist: there is evidence that since debut much of the attacks on BTS and ARMY have been co-ordinated by the big 3 agencies. I don't know why they felt so threatened by BTS, but they clearly did. In a way, that strategy meant that BTS had to make a different relationship with their fans: much more direct and immediate, much more open and genuine, than any other fandom - and ARMY had to fight back. It all actually made BTS become even more successful by finding their own way of doing things
JK and the Burgers : At the point he was on this show, JK was only 18 or 19 and the 'hosts about twice his age. In Korea that is very powerful. At the time JK would have had little money but he spent his own funds (not company funds) on that food which he threw back in his face. When they met the guy recently they were all happy dappy and friendly, but I don;t understand why. They must have met up elsewhere and received some kind of apology, I assume. OK, but I'd find that hard.
MBC : after the 2020 NYD matter MBC had quite a feud with Big Hit / Hybe, but a few months ago they had a meeting with Bang Si Hyuk and made up. Basically I assume that MBC had to climb down, eat humble pie and ... make some kind of deal that makes it worth while for BH talent to appear on MBC.
Major agencies : not only did BTS not 'go through them', the large agencies actively tried to block BTS - they have an amazing amount of influence and clout on actual media and music programmes, and are known to pay them off. Bands trained by the big three can have huge sums paid to promote the to the point that if they are in any way decent performers, they are almost guaranteed success. BTS did it all themselves.
German DJ : eventually responded saying he was only joking, but the joke's on him. A few months later he had moved from a drivetime evening weekdays slot, to a one hour lunchtime Sunday show. Guess that may have been less amusing for him
xCeleste makes the point that no doubt all these difficulties will continue. She's right, and the Big 3 are still trying to block BTS and BH - but they'll get nowhere. And haters are continuing to spread rumours and accusations online. One person was recently arrested for this and posted a public apology asking for leniency : he won't get it. BH teams use advanced technology to track IP addresses and locations and will find them. VPN are not going to be much help.
I am so glad that, while I am familiar with this environment of abuse, I remain away from spaces like Twitter so limit my exposure to the ongoing toxic Kpop environment. I still see a little, but seldom engage in any way. I do sometimes see You Tubers who seem to pursue BTS for the views / clicks they can bring - am very sensitive to that and of course hate it. Used to leave messages questioning what they were doing, but now I just walk away and block the channel.
I'm touched though by your genuine reactions to this history. Now you may understand something more of many of BTS's songs and passion. They have been fighting for 11 years, and are not stopping any time soon. Ironically, some of their best, most successful music comes from this fight.
    Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Jungkook didn't spend his own money on the hamburgers. It was money from the game show. His team got the larger spending amount and brought back some "leftovers" for the other team. They were still mean about it when they shouldn't have been, but context is pretty important for that situation.

Not only did they not go through the Korean media outlets, but the Korean media outlets were the ones not letting them go through them so BTS kept having to make their own way. The BIG 3 fought Big Hit and BTS withe everything they had (including their fandoms). The ones who trended all the negative hashtags and that the caller called Melon about was EXO, they still do. Just mentioning it since you probably didn't know that. But the three little asterisks *** stood for them. That's why some of us still get frustrated when people (and oftentimes reactors) hear BTS from the start and immediately think "Oh I guess I like KPOP." Because in our minds, BTS goes so far beyond that and until them, KPOP wasn't even using HipHop in their formulas. And none of their idols were even allowed to write content and most still aren't and don't. Again they started out as a HipHop group but added vocals and choreo at a time when that wasn't done and as a result got shunned by both HipHop and Kpop worlds. They have paved the way for younger artists and HYBE (BigHit) is HUGE now. They recently released like a 5 part 5 min serious of segments, I assume appealing to new recruits and it was really quite good. It is about the "T&D" team (Training and Development Team) that developed their model based on what they learned as they've grown with BTS finding their way. And how they guide and develop the members as they train. Not sure if you want to just watch on your own but here is the first one just in case: th-cam.com/video/71y2xhHOj98/w-d-xo.htmlsi=butfCR5iwXPBair- Really enjoyed watching this again. Yep this is why I have such mixed feelings about them being only labeled "kpop", the majority of the kpop industry tried everything in their power to beat them down and rejected them. But now that BTS is huge they do everything to mention BTS's name with their artists in media or articles, lots of media play. The companies tried to equate their success to kpop as a whole being successful because they want that to be the case. They have always been an anomaly in kpop tho as they were heavily involved with their own music and messages from the beginning. They embrace the kpop label because that's the industry they trained and debuted in, they don't care what people call them anymore but they go beyond that. I like to think of BTS similar to a Veen diagram only BTS is a huge circle and inside that circle is a much smaller circle 1/4th it's size that is kpop, it's only a small part of what makes up them.
Sadly the western media play has mostly worked as soon as general public hear "BTS" they automatically think "kpop", no lie I told my cousin I went to the Agust D concert when he asked cuz he'd never heard of him I said "he also goes by Suga from BTS" he goes "oh kpop" immediately. When I showed him fancams he had the most confused look "what? that's not kpop? That's hardcore rap, actually he looks more like a rock star. He can't be from BTS, I thought they only did 'bubblegum' pop music" I think I may have secretly made him a fan of Agust D at the least tho. Granted it's hard to define what "kpop" is exactly but now that label is being used against them in the western music industry to other them and segregate them from western artists, they don't like BTS beating their western artists in main categories. So now everything BTS's member touch is labeled "kpop" even if like JK's Golden album everything is written & produced by Americans, sung in all English, literally the only thing that is Korean is the singer but they call it kpop.

@@roguechevelle exactly. I see the same thing. People's instant assumption of them being KPOP and what that tends to mean can be so infuriating. And Yoongi's music is my soul fr. Even though I am OT7 and love all of them and their versatile musical tastes! I love the way you describe them being a huge bubble and the KPOP part of them is smaller bubble within that. I may steal that analogy sometime. 💜

I've been a part of the ARMY since 2016, and this just brings back so many terrible memories of being online. Having to try and gather and trend over hateful hashtags. Fighting everyother day with other fandoms, mainly exols and bp fandoms. They HATED seeing BTS win. They always thought BTS was always going to be small and irrelevant. Apparently, the other groups companies matched their fans horrible attitudes. I remember the time when BTS started to get noticed globally and all of the hate they would get. All the severe jealousy from other companies and groups. It was actually YG who sent that reporter who accused them of plagiarism. Funny enough, a lot of kpop groups that have gone global after BTS have gotten the same mistreatment, and their companies aren't laughing now. Because the hate can be so severe. But BTS were pioneers. And no matter what, ARMY have ALWAYS been behind BTS back. We've developed a protective relationship over these guys and we know that if anyone tries to take a hit at bts, they take a hit at ARMY, and we dont stand for it.

BTS is the only reason I have gotten through my struggles. They make my heart happy during a time in my life when things are just not going well. I am a new ARMY, I love BTS. I learn more and more of thier struggles and strive everyday. I am ashamed of the human race. We are supposed to be people of love, compassion, understanding, forgiveness, and above all, peace. I knew nothing of their fight against humanity I have loved BTS from the very second i heard their voices. They are angelic and should be treated as such. Not because they are Idols but because they have fought so hard to become who they are. They brought me into their homes and lives, making my encounter with them so personal. I feel like family. They are living in the public eye every move they make. They can't do anything normal as other people without it being watched. They can't even date without the fear that the public will find out. In the K-pop Industry, fans sadly seem to think the Idols belong to them. Sometimes, it seems being human is the biggest crime in this K-pop industry .😢😢

In fairness, while they were "forced" to record in a garage, it wasn't because the company was poor. That was in 2014 while they were filming the (8 episode) show "American Hustle Life" (you should REALLY check that one out...they really LEARN about the rap/hip hop culture from a couple big names in the U.S. industry). Anyway, they would record from around 8 AM to 8 PM. After that, they'd work on their album. Can't really take "time off" when you're supposed to be making an album...so, during that show, well, they still had to work. Not to mention, garages, in general, have a specific sound, usually beneficial, and where a lot of people - at least in the U.S. - got their start (hence the term "garage band"). While filming, between writing, producing and recording the album while they were filming that show (which many of us refer to simply as "AHL"), they got all of 2-4 hours of sleep because of the schedules for both. It was, quite literally, "film all day, work all night" for them.
