Hope you enjoy this video 😊 this one was very informative and gave me a better understanding of the group on a deeper level 🙏🏽 We’re on the road to 10k subscribers before November! We’re currently at ( 4040 - 10,000 ) so if you enjoy the content please subscribe 😊 This video will be broken down and uploaded as a three part video as well for those who don’t like watching long form 🙏🏽 wanted to let that be know to avoid the same question 100x lol all love 💜 thank you 😊
Artists have been wearing makeup etc for decades... even in the US (Kiss/Prince etc)... it wouldn't matter if BTS didn't wear it, they'd still cop the hate that they always have and probably always win... some people tend not to appreciate and support those who are successful... The military question : All 7 have enlisted into the military - the eldest, Jin was discharged in June in time for Festa - Jhope will be discharged on Oct 17th, so 2wks time..... Yoongi (Suga) is out June 21st 2025, RM and V are out June 10th 2025, JK and Jimin are out 11th June.... The younger ones enlisted before they actually needed to so that all 7 will be out at the same time. The group all released solo works last year and are still releasing content whilst they're serving in the military that was pre-arranged before they left. Still breaking records and giving Army works to keep them busy whilst we wait for them to return home. Jin is working exceptionally hard keeping us updated and entertained by himself now that he is back.
The fact that BTS came from a small label was a bigger deal in Korea than we would completely understand/expect here. Remember, prior to BTS, *no artist* from any label other than the Big Three had *ever* won a grand prize at a music show. BTS had the audacity to be 'nobodies' who beat 'somebodies', and that made a lot of people in Korea angry. That's why they were so bullied and mistreated, even by variety show hosts. People trying to put them back in their perceived 'place'.
This is not event the tip of the iceberg and that's what's crazy in my eyes, even before I became really an ARMY I already saw all the hate they got in the early days. I have never seen a group or other artist beeing bullied so much (I mean i know justin bieber, one direction or taylor swift fans for example got a lot too and I won't belittle that, but in BTS's case it's on a whole other level). They face constantly, racisme, xenophobia, media making up fake news, antifans, people who use them shamelessly for clout but at the same time work against them, the industry pushing them down every moment they can etc... They did go through a lot and still are, it's getting a little better but is still far away from just them doing their thing and being left alone. And it's not only them the fans get so much hate too. I mean I almost got beaten up by a group of people juste because I said one day I was a BTS fan (and I'm 36). wtf?! We realy live in a scary world with some realy sick people!
You also have to remember that makeup and high heels were created for men and for hundreds of years only men were allowed to wear them. It's only been since the invention of film that women were actually able to wear make-up
Someone broke into BigHit and then wrote that BTS was suing BigHit, but it was a lie. They were trying to sow discord between BigHit and the fandom. All these Korean and even American music industries hate BTS because they succeeded WITHOUT them, only with ARMY’s help. They hate that!!! BTS doesn’t need them, so they sabotage them every chance they get. But ARMY is stronger and we always have BTS’ back!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
@@PeeteHouseafter 2 months of outright false reports and fake news and intense bullying from the Korean media, it amounted to a minor traffic infraction. Suga was under investigation for drunk driving on an electric kickboard/scooter. The man drove less than 500 yards (at a barely faster than casual strolling speed) from his house and only fell when he made a sharp turn right at the entrance to his house. Two officers were close and came to assist him. He admitted to drinking and accepted responsibility. He (and most of the people and the head of their government motor division) had no idea if it was classified as an electric kickboard or scooter. The media crucified him. They even posted a video of someone else speeding and crashing on the roads. The real cctv footage showed that Suga was telling the truth about what happened. The news station posted an "apology" for causing confusion and took it down, but others still have it up. None of them apologized for the slander. BigHit recently released a statement that they were going to take legal actions against those who sought to harm BTS. It will take time like all legal matters, but I'm not exaggerating about the hate printed about him. ARMY have not stopped our efforts to support Suga and the rest of the members, fighting back against the abuse. Believe it or not, this is just ONE of the attempts against BTS and their company this year. The one bright thing we are looking forward to is that jhope is being discharged from the military in 2 weeks. Anyhow, sorry for the long post. BORAHAE 💜
We don't expect people to like every song. We just ask that reactors are respectful. Most ARMYS prefer honesty over fake enthusiasm. Yes, there also a loud, toxic minority. Please try to ignore them. I hope you continue to explore their vast discography, they have no specific genre. Btw, your son is so adorable and polite. 💜
A couple of years ago, while the Korean government was hemming and hawing over whether or not they would exempt BTS, BTS themselves announced that they were cancelling their postponement and enlisting. All seven members enlisted within a year or so of each other. Jin was the first and has now finished his mandatory service. J-Hope will be out in just a couple of weeks. The other five are currently enlisted but will be discharged in June 2025.
Thank you!! He can definitely be a handful and frustrating at time as you’ll see later in the video lol but he’s a great kid and I wouldn’t be me without him 💜
Everybody who appears on camera have make up on. BT were always filming. Plus they tended to exaggerate anything they were criticised for. This was because of their stated aim to protect youth from the harsh criticisms that come at youth like bullets. S Korea had the highest youth suicide rate in the world. BTS messaging like the symbol of the bulletproof vest was to example freeing youth to express themselves. Normalising ideas frowned on in the ultra conservative society of after school cramming schools and rigidly controlled behaviour where parents dictated careers of children. So by S Korean standards at that time BTS were rebellious. So it was in that context that criticised for make up they then started to wear even more androgynous make up and styles .
We would like to see you grow, because you're open minded. And no your not going to agree to love every song or all the content you react to. And real people accept that. Best wishes to you and your family ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊
Agree love watching as open minded ppl really take the dive and find what speaks to them becasue typically there is always something for everyone if they are open to it. These boys, men now, but still boys to me at my age, and I love the joy, positivity, love and influence they share with the world and specifically their fans
30:00 The whole MBC fiasco, lol. They genuinely got into a snit over BTS choosing to go to the New York performance instead of their show. BTS offered to pre-record a performance for them, and they turned them down. Then MBC behaved super shady towards BigHit artists after that, so BigHit pulled all their artists from MBC programs. A couple of years ago, MBC came begging for them to bring their artists back, lolol. Hybe/BigHit full blown had a contract drawn up that basically made MBC agree change how they treated not only their own artists but *all* industry artists on their programs.
I've never heard a reactor say they understand those rappers calling them "girls." 1. Watch @FrankieBiggz reaction to Rise of Bangtan episode 3, starting at 24:00. He says what I've heard others in the music industry say -- all your favorite "masculine" artists get makeup done before they go onstage for a major show -- *definitely* if they're on TV, 100%. 2. The guy calling them girls went to prison for dr*gs. Karma is an ARMY.
I understand what you’re saying that you were raised to think a certain way but saying that you grew up from a more masculine background where you didn’t where makeup is itself the problematic thinking. It’s like the old way of thinking that real/strong men don’t cry when in actuality it’s the real/strong men who aren’t afraid to show emotion when feeling it. Wearing makeup isn’t what defines whether you’re a masculine or not. It’s how you treat people and yourself.
I agree to an extent. I'm not saying you're wrong at all, but I don’t believe masculinity can be defined by how you treat others and yourself because that can apply to both genders. The idea of masculinity is a display of strength or power within a man’s or boy’s role. It implies a distinct difference that's meant to distinguish male from female. I’m not calling our boys unmasculine whatsoever, just pointing out that the concept of makeup is considered a “feminine trait” based on the definition of masculine or masculinity. But your point is fair, I’m never one to force my view on anyone. There’s no right or wrong just options and consequences 😊 we just choose which ones to live and love by
@@PeeteHouse I understand where you’re coming from because I grew up around the same. However, aesthetic or actions ascribed to be masculine or feminine is the issue. Once upon a time most men had long hair and then at some point long hair was ascribed to women such that when a man had long hair he was ridiculed for looking like a woman. Now no one cares and it’s no longer even mentioned. We need to get to that point concerning makeup and hair color and contact lenses and even actions such as singing in a falsetto voice or crying or being a hairdresser, etc. I’m not someone who is sensitive about pronouns but I really believe that it’s more important to be a good person and have confidence in your own being that you don’t have to bend to someone else’s idea of how to look and you act and treat people the way you wish to be treated.
I think it's a masculine Beauty standard over there based on their cultural history. For instance the bird world is all about the males plumeage being what will win him favor with the females. The more beautiful his coloring and the display of his feathers he is surly guenteed a good breeding season, or a mate. The females look for these markers to pass on to their offspring. And let's remember these species of beautiful birds are vicious when competing with other males of their species ,often times taking them out of the competition for good. But the females are very plain . Peacocks, storks, and the jungle ( bird of paradise) all come to mind. They really are heavy in the VISUAL ARTS part of production over there. They may not be built with the male muscular builds of other men in other countries, but what I have noticed is their high level of physical stamina and endurance. We love your Intelligent way of sifting through information. ARMY are so diverse and we all appreciate, how we come together to enjoy the universal language of music, BTS has helped to connect us.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊
You know everyone that comes on tv wears make-up: an actor, a news anchor, a show host, the person that anounces the weatherforcast,... Nowaday every male artist gets some sort of make-up done on their face when they perform or do an appearance somewhere...
And to understand more, the Blue House is comparable to America’s White House so it was for South Korean politics not entertainment for what I understand. I appreciate your open minded response 💜
TBH that mysgomy accusation is crazy- there was some mistranslation and quite frankly they were talking about teenage boys and what they go through- which WE ALL know the hormones that go crazy for kids! - War of Hormones....I love that song actually as it is such a true song lol that whole series Boy In Luv, War of Hormone and Danger - I mean I'm watching my kids go through all that now. JTBC is a trash journalist company with an unfortunately long history of printing blatant lies about BTS and BigHit. In this particular instance, they published a story saying that BTS was suing BigHit - presumably for the hits and traffic and attention such a story would get? - but it was untrue, and BTS and their *parents* were upset enough to speak up about it. JTBC had to retract their story and apologize. Not that they've learned their lesson. Just a month or so ago they posted an article with blatant lies about BTS member Suga, then quietly removed it and posted an apology in their community page on TH-cam (which has far less traffic than the story they reported everywhere). The Korean journalistic ethics commission actually spoke out against them over that one. You genuinely cannot trust anything that Korean media reports about BTS.
Maybe the makeup and hair coloring will make more sense to you if you consider that in SK, back in the day idols would be more of an offshoot from theater than it would be considered over here. These are people singing and dancing on stage; these are people meant to be held to the highest beauty and comportment standards. They are meant to be more theatrical than other music groups. Things have mostly changed and evolved over time, as things always do, but there is still the idea that they always have to look good on camera and in front of their fans. Also, rappers here, no matter how tough and macho, get makeup done to be on camera. It may not be overtly noticeable, but they are covering zits, wrinkles, dark circles under the eyes, wearing powder to keep their oily face from glaring on camera. Every single one. The misogyny thing... that was mainly people trying to tear them down for absolutely anything more than that they actually said or did anything wrong. There were some questionable translations made that caused all that and it was a sensationalized issue. However, people who dismiss it, even in the boys' defense, saying "well that's just rappers. Rappers say all kinds of stuff about women in the west, so whatever. No big deal." 1) They shouldn't be misogynists either. 2) BTS, despite being a hip hop group, were, at the time of that whole mess, being packaged and marketed as an idol boy group. Idol boy groups have always been marketed to, and their work mainly consumed by, young women. Why the hell would it be OK for an idol boy group to belittle or demean the people who are the reason that they even exist ever? It's obnoxious that people accused them of misogyny they didn't happen to be committing , but it's not better to be like "well look who they're emulating. It's nothing." Thankfully, they had a good response and attitude toward the whole mess and came out of it being an even more positive force.
Remember actors wear makeup. Do know the 80's group Kiss. They wear make- up, but after that they still wear makeup, but not as much, and they're manly.
