    That twin guitar playing at 39:45 between Rob & Ted is killer! 🤘

    Another fascinating discussion, Zet bring's it every time! It is fascinating as someone who was a big fan of all the Bay Area thrash bands hearing about the ups and downs. I remember being a fan of DA, suddenly (it seemed) they became The Organization, and they played at a venue in the city I was living in, we had no idea they were even there, no promotion, nothing.... and soon after that was it, didn't hear any more about them until 2001. We had heard they were in a bad accident, but that was it.... awesome hearing Rob's take on everything and seeing them back stronger than ever!

  • @Mike4metal
    @Mike4metal ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I remember when The Organization era was going on death angel was a bad word! I could see on robs face that he was getting pissed and even on some shows he would explain that they weren’t playing any DA tunes and people would be yelling evil priest or some jam! Thank You So Much Zet for This Interview is My Favorite. By Far🔥🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥

      I saw The O too and they were playing Seemingly Endless Time, Stagnant and part of The Ultraviolence. Fitted perfect in their set.

      @@marcusmj777 me too! Saw The O many a night, in the beginning they refused to play DA but in 95 they played in SF and they did those songs! It was bliss after not hearing them for so long🤘🏻

    The last time I darkened the door of the Cattle Club, I remember seeing a green sticker for The Organization still gracing the wall ajacent to that MF-ing pole that split the stage. The amount of sweat and grime in that club would rival any grease trap, kind of amazing that sticker hung intact. Minor miracle for sure! LOL. Stay Heavy!⛧🤘

    Thanks for the interview, very well done. Rob is the $hit. I saw DA on their last time through Minneapolis/St. Paul, it was so great to 're-connect' with the music after being a fan going back to the 80's. I'm a hobby guitar builder, I'm inspired to make a bass version of Rob's guitar, hope he doesn't mind.

    I've seen Death Angel several times before and after The Organization, but one of my favorite shows was seeing The O for their 1st tour at The Roxy in Huntington, NY on Long Island. I remember that Andy had his drums set up sideways so the crowd could see his footwork. The show was amazing, and we smoked a joint with Andy after the show. \m/

    Zetro rules. Rob rules. \m/ I love Rob's tune 'Heal in Time'. Great song bro. We passed each other on the stairs down to the bar basement at St. Andrews in Detroit on the Act III tour. We said what's up to each other as we passed. I always wished I would have went back down and met you. That show with Forbidden and Realm kicked my ass.

    Met Rob at The Pound SF back in 2002 (was on tour with Dave Brockie Experience) We were waiting outside to get in club, he shows up and lets us in... I was like, hey that's the fuckin Death Angel dude! He was super cool guy (and everyone knows, what a fucking ripper player!)
    ++we got nominated with Gwar... we all pissed on it (typical) Haha, oh well++

    Anyone who hasn't heard that first organization needs to. It's one of the best rock albums ever produced and if you had to ask me is the pinnacle of the bands writing even to this day I thinks it's the bands best record across all of their projects. Definitely helps that and Rob can both sing their asses off. Honestly i think they're better frontmen than Mark

  • @berns009
    @berns009 ปีที่แล้ว

    awesome! my only quibble is i would have liked to hear more old school 80s stories. for example their first show outside the west coast opening for slayer in NYC at the ritz in december of 1986! it was a 1 off show and i would assume the promoter flew them out for it? pretty amazing since they were just the opening band and still without a full length LP out yet!

    I love this podcast. I’d like it even more though if you could fit the episodes all into 1 part rather than splitting them up. Having to wait a few days just to finish what should be 1 whole episode kinda sucks. But it’s free though so i ain’t complaining, just a suggestion🤘🤘

    There was the real rivalry between rockers and jocks throughout 70's and 80's time that resulted with bullies and fights. It looks like California had the same kind of thing if you want to expand on the memories growing up. There is always danger in that state that's really with gangs or hate groups.

    I heard a story back then that Mark got busted for transporting a bunch of cocaine on the bus and he had went to prison for a few over it. I saw the organization in Phoenix and Rob was still in pissed mode and signed my ultra violence lp really big with the word oldie. I still love the band even tho he pulled that dick move and messed up my album cover.

    • @WillCarroll13
      @WillCarroll13 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wasn’t Mark who got busted and it wasn’t on a tour bus either.

    Question for Rob, I absolutely love your signature guitar that's coming out from Jackson but why in the hell is there a Floyd Rose Special on it??? It's a $1200 pro series yet it has a Floyd Rose Special, that makes me hesitant.
