- A piece for piano & orchestra.
Yes, I know the piano part is unplayable in parts with those vast leaps in the left hand, but since nobody's ever going to perform it...no problem! As one of my valued commenters has said, it would probably work with 4-hands or 2 pianos.
Like a lot of stuff I write, this could probably work in a film score but it wasn't written with that in mind.
Written in Musescore 4 with Muse Sounds.

Thank you very much!
What a beautiful theme!
Thank you very much!
Lovely composition, mellow and relazing but with a constant driving forward motion, well done.
Thank you very much Mark!
You just gotta give this one to a lefty pianist lol. Another way to make this performable is to give the piano's right hand melody to other instruments and have the piano player focus only on the sextuplets. That right hand melody would work gorgeously on the flute and oboe in octaves. There's a very magical quality to this piece.
Ha! Thank you so much for this and your other lovely comments. It's not often someone takes the time to binge-watch my channel and engage with such generous appreciation, especially when they clearly know their music. Yes, that orchestration would work well. The choice here, however, was quite deliberate (unusually for my random experimental approach to writing!) - I love octave/double-octave piano melodies as they have a lovely bell-like quality to them, and I was trying here to emulate the sound Shostakovich gets in his 2nd Piano Concerto (1st movement). The daft left-hand figure, which was the genesis of the piece, originally set out to try to emulate Rachmaninoff which proved impossible (obviously!) and I ended-up with this, so I plonked the melody on top! Strategy? Nope. Tactics? Nope. 😂
OK Jeff, You just got yourself another subscriber with notification bell on. Second piece I am listening to and am half way =Beautiful.
Thanks Harold! I hope you still liked it by the end.
美しい作品です。
情緒的で感傷的で、懐かしい感じがします。僕も作曲をします。仲良くしてください。
どうも ありがとう !
Gorgeous, Bravo!
Thank you very much Emma!
That piano part could probably be performed as is with a lot of judicious hand crossing; alternatively, I can see it performed as a 4 Hand/2 Player setup.
I am building a comprehensive catalogue of symphonies and would like to get in touch with you for details for the inclusion of your symphonic poems.
Thanks! Sounds intriguing, I've added my email address to the About section so do drop me an email when you like. All the best. Jeff
Wow what a composition. Amazing!
Thank you very much!
New subscriber!! :)
Yay! Welcome😀
Beautiful 👏👏
Thank you very much!
I love this, excellent work! The piano and strings go so well together. I would like to get into composing. Do you have any tips?
Thank you very much! I wish I could. You should watch the TH-cam videos by Ryan Leach and Ann-Kathrin Dern. Both are film composers, both have tons of stuff on composition that's really engaging and digestible. No music degree required! Good luck!
