    A trip to Allen Edmonds is always a treat. There's something about going in person to try on stuff and having option get it in your hands that same day that makes it seem great.

      I absolutely agree. I love going there.

    16:15 This should be for all shoppers. Yes, online shopping is more convenient, but in-person shopping is way more precise when you buy your size.

    Wonderful vlog man, and thanks for stopping by for a cup of lemonade from Alex's lemonade stand. Your donation, as well as thousands of others, are truly helpful!
    Also, you have a great taste in shoes! 😁

    I greatly respect you, Bob, and have learned much from your videos on dress shoes and other items. I am, though, one of those men who would prefer to avoid Allen Edmonds jumping on board with producing these sneakers and casual sneaker shoes. We may not see the difference between Johnston & Murphy and AE in a few years. I was a J&M customer until some years ago when they decided to move their factory out of our country and stop making quality footwear. Last month, AE advised me that they will no longer manufacture the Dalton Wingtip dress boot, and it is concerning but thankful that I purchased a pair last October. I was planning on buying another pair this month.
    I ordered a few pairs of footwear during their Rediscover America sale this month: a Brown Higgins Mill weatherproof boot and Brown Park Avenue shoes. I have planned to purchase the Higgins Mill for a few years but decided to pull the trigger, and I am happy with this decision. The Park Avenue is my second, as my first pair with them is in Black. Proper gentlemen wear leather shoewear; casual sneakers are for the gym or children.

    Your vlogs are so laid back and fun, they give me serotonin. A lot of helpful information regarding Allen Edmonds, as always. Great video, Bob! Prayers to you and your family.

    I recently ordered to dress sneakers on sale. However, I customized them both with black soles. I think this change makes a noticeable difference in making these closer to looking like dress shoes (from an observer) for business casual and air travel but giving you all the comfort of a sneaker. One thing that was interesting in the Randolph Penny loafer sneaker - was the ability to customize them to also be weatherproof. Rain is a common event in my area - and sometimes when I travel so its nice to have some models like this that bring so many features. I only wish their dress sneakers were stitched, but A/E will recraft them for you in the future.

      This is interesting you mention the Randolph... I JUST released a video on unboxing a pair of AE Randolph dress sneakers today. Sorry for getting behind on replying!

    Thanks for taking us along on this adventure! I recently purchased the Courtside in Mineral Yellow suede and am impressed with the suppleness and quality of the suede version. The left shoe is a little snug width wise. I believe it’s an anomaly in the construction of the shoe, as my right foot is fractionally larger than my left. But hoping they break in nicely.

    I'm in the market for some dress sneakers and my go to shoes are always Allen Edmonds, well when I found out that all the Allen Edmonds sneakers are imported it broke my heart. Cole Haan and Thursday boots make great sneakers in wide sizes and half the price of AE.

    Hey Bob. Was thinking about getting the Courtside Sneaker as well. It's resoleable by the AE Factory but have you by chance ever checked to see if a regular cobbler may have access to resole this as well? I like to support my local businesses whenever I can.

    Nice video Bob! Totally unrelated question, but if you're comfortable to share, what model is your car? I'm thinking of buying a new car and I remember you used to work on cars, so I thought I'd ask.

    • @CobblerBob

      I drive a 2015 Kia Optima. I used to be a big GM fan, but I hate to say, they just became too unreliable. I bought it with around 23k miles on it and it now has around 107k. Very low maintenance, and parts are very inexpensive for it. The only flaw with this car is the 2.4 GDI engine starts to consume a LOT of oil after 40-50k. My wife had a 2011 Hyundai Sonata (same engine) that we just sold that did the same thing. I have to add around 1 qt every thousand miles. Low tension piston rings or something. It gets high 20’s MPG average, and 32-34 on highway trips and seats 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 kids comfortably.

      They don’t give as much feel as a driving moc, but they’re very comfortable overall. I don’t usually wear sneakers much, so it’s hard to make a comparison, but they seem to have a good balance of comfort and support. I wore them on vacation and did lots of walking with no complaints.

    Since you're not just a shoe guy but a car guy, what kind of car are you driving in this video?

    • @CobblerBob
      @CobblerBob  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just my 2015 Kia Optima LX. Other than the fact that it consumes oil (common flaw with the GDI 2.4L) it's a great car.

    I purchased the AE courtside in suede about a year ago... horrible quality and feel especially for the price! Over priced converse, period. I love AE dress shoes, I have multiple pairs in different colors and their boots are fantastic but they missed the mark on the Courtside sneakers. Highly recommend their dress shoes!

    Do they have arch support? I noticed the bottom are very flat.
    Remember we do not sorrow like those who have no hope! You mother is in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ!!

    • @CobblerBob
      @CobblerBob  ปีที่แล้ว

      Arch support? Some, yes. The insoles are flat, but they come with removable leather covered foam insole cushions that do have some arch support. Of course your case may be different, but I’m a believer in not having arch support. I think it weakens the foot, making us more reliant on support.
