Man, it is fascinating to see just how much Yahtzee has changed over the years: I mean he's still the wisecracking joking snarkster we all know and love who's not afraid to be blunt about his opinion on something, but he definitely sounds happier and more genuine now.😄💖
As a kindergarden teacher I can tell you: It's definitely the dog. Small children can be wonderful, but they have never made anyone more relaxed or less sarcastic XD
That’s really weird that your fantasising and projecting onto a person who very clearly has stated throughout his career is a private person and the person you see on the internet is not Yhatzee Crowshaw
@@GayBearDaddy2you know commenting on another persons sexual preferences and style without their consent is kinda creepy, especially when your projecting onto someone who clearly is heterosexual, imagine if the roles were reversed would you be appreciative of these unwarranted comments?
So many people never realize that comedy is a god damn science in itself. So many things that make a joke funny, and if u miss even one of them u risk ruining the joke. And afterall that, the audience tastes vary anyway, meaning they may nit like it anyway
Its difficult to explain why something is funny, or why it isn't. Just look at Gen Z humor, seemingly random but huge on the context of the day that you'll look insane to someone without it.
Pepper Grinder is what you get when somebody plays Ori and the Will of the Wisps, uses the Burrow ability and decides "Man, that was pretty fun. What if a whole game, but just that?"
Ahh, the disturbingly lengthy body disposal discussion of that Bears In Space stream! Nice to see these edits back! I always watch the whole stream / VoDs, but its nice to see the highlights again, and with some bonus amusing edits, like that blue nick monster thing!
Honestly I like this videos series. Its fun to see new and inspired games getting attention. Also... hard to explain but this videos are a type of non toxic gaming culture I really enjoy and wanna see more.
While it's true that ADGAK could be classified as "a straight rip-off of Getting Over It With Bennet Foddy", the Steam store page does explicitly state that the creator hoped that GOIWBF would prompt the birth of a new genre of super-challenging philosophical/contemplative puzzle games like it, and when that didn't end up happening they decided to just do it themselves. So it's intentionally a rip-off of GOIWBF made by someone who really wanted more rip-offs of GOIWBF.
5:43 Why does everyone always assume Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy has janky controls (or that if it didn't, it would've been fine if it did). It has difficult obstacles that require incredible precision using non-standard controls but they're incredibly polished and elegant. It's precisely because those controls seem broken that the game works, but if they were actually broken the game wouldn't be regarded so highly today.
It's like Octodad: the controls are weird as hell, but once you get good at them, they become second nature. I feel like I could take Octodad through a kaizo level now.
Because they are janky and awkward to use. Noone is “assuming” it, you’re hearing the opinions of people who have experienced it so that isn’t an apt word. Its getting used to the janky controls that is the challenge
@@subpar157 You seem to misunderstand. "Janky" is an assessment of quality, not a descriptor. It means "of poor quality and/or unresponsive". Yahtzee described the grab physics as inconsistent in "A difficult game about climbing", and said that wasn't expected of games in the genre. If I remember correctly Yahtzee has never played Getting Over It, and even if he did he likely hasn't finished it. The challenge isn't to get used to a janky control scheme, but to learn a new highly polished one under immense pressure.
So while I can get Yahtzee's criticism about ADGAC, there's a more in depth 3d version called Peaks of Yore that I think Yahtzee would love as he gets into his dad game era.

@@Peter-jn9rb TBH I was thinking the same thing as "Drill Dozer" despite never playing it. But you can't blame the name is conjured from the gameplay. You have a drill, and you doze.
I think it is worth keeping in mind that Pontypants (the dev of a difficult game about climbing) created every asset except the character model on his own, so Yahtzee's claims that it's a cheap asset flip are just wrong.
Oh, I disagree on Pepper Grinder. The mechanics get updated with each passing area, including a grappling hook, a gun, aerial digging, a sled, etc. If anything, it's the lack of use for the collectibles that gets me. Once you get 10 per area (which isn't hard), you don't really need to collect more. That, and the fact that the game's a bit short - but even then, I think the game maximizes its gameplay to the fullest over the course of 4 areas.

The mechanic in Pepper Grinder is entirely taken from the sand section of Or I and the Will of The Wisps. Which is an awesome game that you should totally play.
For the climbing game, I think it's a bit of a disservice to the game to review it based only on what is basically the tutorial area, since the level design is quite clever and delightful on the whole. It's like if that one infamous Cuphead reviewer reviewed it based on the tutorial they couldn't beat. But I understand you have limited time with these games.
I hope the content doesn't go the Angry Joe route and make the reviews just a semi edited recording of a live gameplay and commentary. If it does, oh well.😂
ADGAC is an interesting case, because it wasn't made to go viral. The motivation for making it was the fact the creator was sick of waiting for other games to capture what's great about GOI instead of just making unfair, imprecise games with a big pile of stuff without a reason for any of it. GOI is his favorite game, so he simply wanted to make another one like it to scratch his own itch.
