“หยิบออกจนคงเหลือเพียงสิ่งสำคัญ” คือนิยามการทำงานศิลปะ ณ เวลานี้
ของ SUNTUR ยศนันท์ วุฒิกรสมบัติกุล
ซึ่งผลงานของเขาเป็นที่คุ้นตาในวงกว้างจากการจัดนิทรรศการทั้งในประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศรวมถึงสื่อต่างๆ บนโลกออนไลน์ ทว่าความน้อยแต่อัดแน่นไปด้วยความหมายนี้เกิดจากการเพาะบ่มเวลาตลอดทั้งชีวิต เขาค้นพบใจรักในด้านศิลปะมาตั้งแต่ตอนเรียนชั้นประถม ประกอบกับความสามารถในการเล่าเรื่องผ่านภาพและตัวอักษรทำให้เขาเข้าเรียนมหาวิทยาลัยในภาควิชาออกแบบนิเทศศิลป์ เมื่อเรียนจบได้ทำงานเป็น copywriter ที่บริษัทโฆษณาแห่งหนึ่ง อย่างไรก็ตาม เขายังคงไม่ละทิ้งการวาดรูปอันเป็นสิ่งที่เขารัก อีกทั้งเมื่อโตขึ้นทักษะและฝีมือก็เพิ่มมากขึ้นไปตามกาลเวลา จนในที่สุดได้มาเป็นศิลปินเต็มตัวในนาม SUNTUR ที่เป็นที่รู้จักในวันนี้
นาฬิกาชีวิต 33 ปีของ SUNTUR
SUNTUR มักนำเรื่องราวรอบตัว ไม่ว่าจะเป็นสิ่งเล็กๆ น้อยๆ ไปจนสิ่งใหญ่มาเขียนเป็นภาพพร้อมตั้งชื่อเพื่อสื่อถึงสิ่งที่เขาต้องการนำเสนอ สิ่งที่ผู้ชมจะได้เห็นบนแคนวาสของเขาคือส่วนที่สำคัญอันผ่านการคัดสรรและกลั่นกรองมาแล้ว ผลงานจึงมีสเปซค่อนข้างมากและองค์ประกอบต่างๆ ถูกจัดสรรมาอย่างพอดี มีพื้นที่ว่างที่เปิดกว้างให้ผู้ชมทุกคนโดยไม่มีการตัดสิน
TAKE YOUR TIME คือนิทรรศการที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวการเดินทางที่ SUNTUR พบเจอผ่านนาฬิกาชีวิตในระยะเวลา 33 ปีของเขาที่เก็บเกี่ยวความทรงจำออกมาเป็นรูปธรรมผ่านงานศิลปะจำนวน 33 ชิ้นที่สร้างสรรค์ขึ้นมาสำหรับนิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งที่ 3
ซึ่งงานนี้ผู้ชมจะได้สัมผัสกับบรรยากาศของการแบ่งปัน เรียนรู้กันและกันผ่านประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวของเขาจากภาพวาดตามแบบฉบับ SUNTUR ที่หยิบไอเดียมาจากผู้คนและเหตุการณ์ต่างๆ ที่ได้พบเจอมาตลอดทั้งชีวิต เพื่อเชื่อมโยงความรู้สึกให้ผู้ชมได้ใช้เวลาไตร่ตรองไปพร้อมกัน

TRENDY GALLERY and River City Bangkok proudly present "Take Your Time", an art exhibition by SUNTUR that tells the story of his travels and encounters: how he has circled the clock of life over a period of 33 years, and collected memories into 33 paintings. His third solo exhibition creates an atmosphere of sharing and learning, in which visitors encounter SUNTUR’s personal experiences through original paintings that capture people’s thoughts and feelings as they navigate life on this planet. These moments of connection open up a space for us to reflect on ourselves in each other’s company.
Welcome to a world beyond time. Take off your watch and move to the rhythm of timeless space. We invite you to connect to the paintings and music, and allow those feelings to crystallize into a new awareness that will enable you to live the way you want when you return to the real world.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
“Picking out until only what is important remains” is how Yozanun Wutigonsombutkul or SUNTUR defines his art at this time.
SUNTUR’s love for art began when he was in elementary school, but he was also equally gifted at “Storytelling”. SUNTUR likes to tell stories through both pictures and letters, and so chose to study at the Department of Visual Communication Design, which totally suited his personal qualifications. He fit in perfectly with the program and after graduating, worked as a copywriter at an advertising agency. While pursuing his main career, SUNTUR never gave up on drawing, which is what he loves. After working on honing and combining his tirelessly acquired skills in drawing and storytelling, he has become the full-fledged artist he is today.
SUNTUR often draws inspiration from the world around him for his stories, both big and small, portrayed in painted compositions, which each have a title that captures what he wants to convey. His works of art focus on only the essential parts of these stories. As a result, his works are wide and spacious. Various elements are allocated upon the canvas to tell a particular story that creates space for interpretation, openness, and non-judgment.
