I absolutely love my one. Chose to get an alarm fitted on it when I first got it. The alarm is a cheap motorcycle alarm but it’s great

Getting this model tomorrow and that freewheel switch has me concerned that it makes it easy for someone to wheel off when my dad leaves it outside shop… :-(

@Peter Alexander I have it, had to fit an alarm on it as that lever does release the brake to push it away and the key is a universal key that you can buy off ebay,,, the alarm does the job, not a bad little scooter I like it..

@Peter Alexander built in alarm would help, people would need to be sick in the head to rob someone’s mobility scooter but I bet they do all the time, someone already robbed my dads gloves from the front basket the scumbags, how do they sleep at night…, :-(

The short answer is you cannot make the Orion faster unless you intend on doing a big modification job to it. The scooter is fitted with two 12 volt batteries wired in series giving a total of 24Volts to power the scooter. The controller regulates how much of this gets to the motor and if the full 24Volts applied to the motor the motor will spin at its maximum speed making the wheels turn at the scooters maximum speed (8mph in the UK). So you would need to fit bigger wheels or change the gear box ratio. You can however reprogram the controller to increase and decrease the acceleration. It should also be noted that if the scooter is modified to increase its top speed it would no longer be legal to use as a mobility scooter.

What a ridiculous way to adjust the seat hight. Do those idiots expect a person who requires a mobility scooter to be able to lift the seat off and buy 2 wrenches just so they can adjust the height.the seat should have been connected to a jacking system eith mechanical or preferably hydrolic..The fools that designed this forgot who would be buyin it.

I agree that a user adjustable seat height system would be better however I suspect that this only needs to be adjusted once for the user unless its going to be used in a multi user situation. I would also like to think that anyone selling this equipment would set it up for the user before handing it over and take the users circumstances into consideration before recommending the product. I am sure that a hydraulic system although better would increase the price of the scooter. This scooter is far from the most expensive scooter out there. So if money is no object get a scooter with all the bell and whistles and if your on a budget you may have to look at what features really matter to you.
