    These videos are such a brilliant resource for people trying to maintain a mobility scooter for a relative or friend that either don’t have access to a local service center or funds to have full professional overhauls done. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. Keep up the great how to videos.

    My wife had a problem with her Go-Go scooter. It was not going as fast as before. I checked it out and the throttle would move a lot, forward and backwards, before the cart moved. This carts throttle arm had an tiny Allen nut that had loosened. No big deal getting to that arm, but finding where my bag of Allen wrench were, then the second to tiniest Allen wrench fit and I snugged the nut tight. Now no looseness and the cart zips like new.

    Thanks for the video. I'm repairing a mobility scooter for a friend who snapped the spindle of the RVQ24YS08-02 potentiometer. I managed to find a replacement in the EU (have to pay import duty in Greece when ordering from the UK) and I'd figured out how everything worked and fitted together. Your confirmation of the centre stop/brake position adjustment confirmed what I had already figured out about the grub screws (I'm an electronics engineer). By the way, it would be helpful if you would NOT call grub screws "grommets"!

    Hi, do you know if there’s anyway to remove the speed limiter or increase the speed on the Shoprider Mobility Scooters?

    • @tomjacques4
      @tomjacques4  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no speed limiter, each product is designed to do the relevant speed in the UK the max speed is 8mph. So. Each product has been manufactured to suit its general purpose. Some 4mph and some 6&8mph. They match the motor speed, controller and axle together to achieve this. Most of the controller are allready set at the maximum of 100% but this can be reduced but
      Not increased Mind you some of the 888NR’s did have an extra speed pot fitted to make them go slower but that’s all.

    My battery is new. But its easy to get low .u think it has an issue with electrical?

    • @tomjacques4
      @tomjacques4  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be a few issues. 1 a faulty battery, get them tested. 2 a electric brake that sticks causing more current draw. Check brake , is it hot? 3 a worn motor, check brushes. Hope that helps.

    • @tomjacques4
      @tomjacques4  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can push it then the brake is stuck on. Gently tap the brake while trying to drive forward. Or remove the brake and see if it’s clicking and letting the disc spin. Most likely the disc will not spin so see if you can free it off while 24 volts is applied

    My speed potentiometer speeds up to half speed then no faster for the rest of the movement. When tested it shows a increase all the way. What can I do to get full speed?

    • @tomjacques4
      @tomjacques4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Peter what’s the make and model and what speed is it doing. And how long has it been doing this.

    • @tomjacques4
      @tomjacques4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Peter, the onboard controller will be programmed to a specific setting that tells at what point it will reach full speed. so it could well be that its set well before the end of travel of the lever even though you get an increased reading. So with that in mind i could set the max speed to be reached within a specific setting of the lever.... rather than at full travel. hope that clears it up.....

      We do sell springs if required. Mind you the spring is inserted on top of the pot with the rest and the Assy. And lever.
