This is a great trade. It's a step in the right direction. Now it's up to ownership to open up their wallets and surround Jimmy with the talent necessary to be successful. I think hes good enough to end up being a top 10 qb. He has all the tools, great arm, he's mobile, and he goes through progressions. The only way I see him not succeeding is if we don't protect him and we don't have receivers that can get open. I think provided he has the right players around him, he will flourish in kyles offense.

So why not give up a second round pick for someone that's been under the tutelage of Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and also has showed promise in his little but short NFL starts. I was lukewarm to this trade to begin with, especially giving up what will be a top 3 pick in the Second Round. But the more I think about it, the more I like it. Definitely a lot better than giving Kirk Cousins $30m. I trust Kyle to get the very best out of a guy who clearly has a lot of talent already. Getting him now, gives everyone a head start on getting ready for next season, and avoids having to compete for his signature in free agency.

Great move 9er organization. They would have drafted a QB in the first or second round anyway. So why not give up a second round pick for someone that's been under the tutelage of Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and also has showed promise in his little but short NFL starts. To me that means they must have a player ranked high on their big board other than a QB in the first round of the draft.

I was lukewarm to this trade to begin with, especially giving up what will be a top 3 pick in the Second Round. But the more I think about it, the more I like it. Definitely a lot better than giving Kirk Cousins $30m. I trust Kyle to get the very best out of a guy who clearly has a lot of talent already. Getting him now, gives everyone a head start on getting ready for next season, and avoids having to compete for his signature in free agency.
