Victor Gonzales Glad to see someone besides myself give Jed credit. He's literally paying Tomsula and Kelly still because of his desire to get the right guys for the team. Has Jed made mistakes? Of course. But the guy wants to win, and he's finally got the right guys in place to do it!
Sus V A lot of people don't realize is that it was Baalke who was behind most of the negative actions by the 49ers...Jed is reportedly a super loyal guy to those he's close to, and as far as the Baalke/Harbaugh rift Jed had known Trent six years longer than Harbaugh and was obviously closer to him. The thing I like about Jed (especially lately) is that he has learned to separate personal feelings from business. Some GMs/owners would have given Tomsula two years and Kelly three to four, so I feel like he deserves a lot of credit for refusing to tread water and immediately making positive moves for the franchise when it was clear that things were not how they should be. Obviously getting Kyle Shanahan was a no brainer, but going with John Lynch as the GM is what really impressed me. People were quick to point out John's lack of experience at the position, without realizing that because John was a great player for many years he automatically has credibility/respect, not to mention all the connections he made in his playing career that are helping him now. For example, at the end of his career he spent some time with Belicheck in New England. Did that have something to do with Bill trading Jimmy to us? Possibly! So I hope people start cutting Jed some slack, it's pretty obvious that he wants the team to win as much as we, the fans, do.
