on your next upgrade save a little more money and get the best graphic card out there so you won't need to upgrades for at least 5 years

I'm a msfs player and wow, this is outstanding results for 1080p. Currently I have a mid ranged pc so this will be an enormous upgrade

It kinda seems like the 3080 is the sweet spot for 144hz screens that run 1080p and in many games even 1440p, for 4k, it wont go for above 60hz screens
I'll get it for my 1080p 144hz in the future, overkill or not, it will serve me for 5-6 years like my gtx 970 serves me very well since the beginning of 2015

You’d only be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p right now with a 3080 on ultra and Ray tracing. 1440p dips below 60. They need to work on the game a bit.

You don't ever want to use auto overclocks they fail most of the time.

with ultra hyper rtx 5.0, fps goes down to 20 fps on 12k

How are you getting 183 fps on warzones with a 3080, I have a Tuf gaming 3080 OC and i still can’t get over 144fps in downtown.

you can’t Oc to 5.1ghz very easy....you need a monster cooler like h115i platinum and a motherboard to handle it..+u need to have silicon lottery

I have a RTX 3080, i7 10700K (i am looking for a better one) and 32 RAM as well ... and in MOST games i stay with 1080! ... sometimes i try 1440 but if i drop below 60 i go back to 1080 ... but that barely happens!

That's why I went for 1440p and 3080. That way I get an awesome picture and good fps (in most games). I figured i couldn't get the fps I wanted at 4k.

Ive got the same setup right now, Gigabyte Vision 3080 OC and i7 10700k. But my FPS isnt as high as those in this video ? For example on doom eternal 1440p i get around 114 fps whereas in this video he has around 150 fps?

I was thinking about upgrading my GPU to the 3080 TI, but I've been reading that even this setup with the 3080 is causing the CPU to bottleneck. So wouldn't a 3060 at a fraction of the price give you pretty much exactly these results? Especially in 1080p.
@Lane on air Its not a large bottleneck. I tried many different calculators to check and they all give very similar results. At least for 1080p and 1440p this combination has CPU bottlenecks. I suppose if you overclocked the CPU maybe that small % might go away.

I'd agree that it's overkill in Doom Etheral only. Basically my goal would be 144FPS in normal games and 240 in competetive ones.

depends if u wanna play games like csgo go for 144 hz 2k or 244 hz 1080p monitor its better for competitive games 244hz 1080p is better for competitive gaming imo most of 4k montiors are only 60hz 5ms response time not so god for competitive gaming but its best for other games like gta or far cry etc coz u can play in 4k

I've just ordered a custom build PC with a I7 10700K and a RTX 3080 for about £2000 (obv it's filled with all the other stuff you need to make pc go vrrmm vrrmm too). I'm so so excited, I saw people using this set up to emulate ps4 games at 4I, so I'll be able to play god of war and the new spiderman games on the same system I use for my music production and PC games :)

For the ventilation the best quality/price are from the brand "Be quiet" or "Noctua" those 2 are insane
