I like this. I cannot simply read lists of verbs over and over. That would be boring and ineffective
I can, however, sing along with you while seeing the verb pairs and enjoy the activity and actually feel the pairs become embedded in my memory.

I think it would very useful if you made a video similar to this one - for the suggested list of verbs for a Russian high/school student to know and understand. I can read & speak a little but I aspire to speak at that level and It is difficult because there are so many verbs. It is hard to know which ones to learn and practice.

Very useful video. I wished there was a second part. :) Although, I don't understand искать / найти which means "to find". On the site masterrussian it's written that искать / поискать means "to search" and "находить / найти" means "to find".
You need to work harder on your own.

I still don’t understand how to use perfective and imperfective. Could you choose one or two of these verbs and explain how to use them?
Nobody understands! You just pick one and roll the dice! Hopefully people will know what you mean.
Seriously though, there is no analogue in the English language. People sometimes say that Imperfective is like The Continuous, while Perfective is like, well, Simple and Perfect Tenses (forgetting that Perfect Continuous Tenses exist), but if you look closely, you'll see that this way of understanding is inaccurate pretty often.
I know you've hears this before and it may not help, but Perfective verbs are for completed or habitual actions, while Imperfective is for incomplete or ongoing actions.
So like, "Я иду" can mean, "I go", but it's really more like, "I am going", while "Я хожу" also means "I go", but it's more like "I go everyday/often/sometimes", or even, "I went there and came back".
What gets confusing to me is that if you conjugate an Imperfective verb, it changes to the future, sort of.
Here's how I understand it, Louis...take a verb like читать. If you ALWAYS/REGULARLY read, like for a living, then you "читать". If you're just reading one book you почитать. I imagine the word "always" before the verb. If you don't regularly do what the verb action is expressing, then you must use the prefix that goes with the particular verb you want to say or write. BTW- "По" as a prefix is not used on all verbs. Good luck.
Those verbs are used to express different concepts. Let's take past tense and two verbs with the meaning TO TAKE БРАТЬ (imperf) ВЗЯТЬ (perf). If you want to say that normally you TOOK a book in a library (regular action=imperf) but today you took a magazine (one time action=perf) your Russian sentence would sound like this: Обычно я БРАЛ книгу в библиотеке, но сегодня я ВЗЯЛ журнал. Now let's take present tense of the same verbs, here we'd look at wether we want to concentrate on the PROCESS (imperf) or a RESULT (perf): You get a call from a friend and he is asking, where are you, what are you doing? You're in a library in the middle of taking this book (process), your Russian answer would be: Я в библиотеке БЕРУ книгу. But if you aleady took the book (IT'S DONE) and went out of the library, you'd say: Я ВЗЯЛ книгу в библиотеке и иду домой. Let's sum up. If I'm talking about being in a process OR about doing something regularly, I'd use IMPERFECTIVE! If I want to express the idea of one time action probably with some result, I'd use PERFECTIVE. It's not all the tricks about those verbs, but now at least you get the concept, how Russian think when use those, actually we use a verb depending on WHAT WE WANT THE OTHER PERSON TO UNDERSTAND, if I want you to imagine me being in the middle of taking this book, I'd say Я БЕРУ СЕЙЧАС КНИГУ, if I want you to know that this is DONE, I'd say: Я ВЗЯЛ КНИГУ, Я СВОБОДЕН.
Maybe this mnemonic will help you: Perfective verbs are SO perfect that they're already DONE, no change is needed to them. But imperfective are still not perfect, so they either need a lot of REPETITION, to get there, or they're still in the PROCESS of improving))
@@patrick8358 just wanted to add that "Я иду"/"Я хожу" are not actually the perfective and imperfective form of the same verb, they are an other kind of dual verb forms that only exists with verbs of motion (ie unidirectional and multidirectional)

No, it´s not a mistake, but you can also use поискать as a perfective form of искать. It will depend on a context.
